When DoW3 rolled around 13 years later and they were going to reintroduce her, the people working on the art had no fucking clue what they were going to make her look like. /tg/ however had been producing fanart of Macha with kitty stripes for years, so much so that when you google Macha it's like the first shit you see. And thus the official DoW3 model for Macha incorporates those same kitty stripes because I can only assume the art team googled Macha to see what she looked like way back when and found all that shit and assumed that's just the way it was.

The giant focus on heroes, to the fact that heroes obliterate whole armies in a split second. Units are all made out of paper. Dumber cover mechanics than in Dow1, like i actually have no idea how they managed to make the worst possible cover mechanic after 2 games that had decent cover mechanics.
The game plays horrid. The balance is whack, and they banked on people loving OP as fuck hero units. Which is stupid. People want large armies fighting it out, not just having 2 opposing heroes tossing thermonuclear warheads at each other while units dissapear as part of the background.

Also none of the books ever set out to have you sympathize with the Imperium. Aside from bolterporn about space marines saving humanity, any of the books that takes a closer look at Imperial society always portrays it as the shithole it is. It does make you sympathize with the main characters, and make you understand that while the Imperium is rotten to the core, it is the only thing standing between humanity and total extinction.

I hope I am not falling for a bait. I played hundred hours in every DoW. But this one while I deluded myself for a month that it's good it's not. Nevermind only 3 races. Heroes were way too OP. Some AoE abilities could wipe out half army. It was too hero centric. Are you suprised about Moba? You had to destroy shield->tower->core. It totaly looked like MOBA inspired. Heroes while their abilities in DoW2 looked ok in DoW3 they looked super weird like Gabriel jump flip in terminator armor. This was just so out of place. I still played over 100h.
