Is this any good, Yea Forums?
no
yes
Not really
There is a demo so you can try yourself
maybe
no
i don't know
Possibly.
It's decent. Some stupid design decisions like stuff that makes the combat more fluid (like attack cancelling and faster weapon switch) locked behind a skill tree, so the demo gives a bad impression of the overall product. Not sure if worth full price.
i was bored by the demo and i don't think the rest of the game is worth playing, let alone at that price tag.
Will this be like other square games and never go on sale.
I considered pirating it when it shown up on my nearest piracy site yesterday, mostly because of the cover art, but upon closer inspection felt it wasn't worth it even for free.
liked the diablo feeling it gave me in the demo, but i think 50 is too steep.
The biggest glaring problem with the combat system i see so far is that attack cancelling is locked behind the local devil trigger. With it the combat system feels really fluid and kinda reminds me about modern Ys games, without it it's janky for no real reason. Daemon swap is molasses slow too, which hurts as well.
Another huge problem is that dodge is not a base action. It's by far the best evasion ability which makes dodge daemons too good.
Dungeon design is also pretty shit though the focus of the game is just slaughtering hordes of enemies so this doesn't really matter.
The combat sucks
WHERE"S THE MUSIC!? I don't understand why it only plays one minute, what the fuck was the devs thinking!?
I didn't get all the daemons yet but so far it looks like they designed the game around Aisha and the others were an afterthought.
probably taking inspiration from western games
Aisha feels very weak compared to the second daemon already unless she will get massive buffs later on since a huge chunk of her tree is missing in the beginning. Dodge is her saving grace.
Yeah, this is an absolutely retarded decision. Sound design is pretty much non-existent as well.
>play some diablo clone
>has good music but barely use it (just plays now and then for like a minute)
>getting tired of the silence so go check if there's some mod so it plays more often rather than play my own music
>find forum post where guy complains about the lack of music
>there's a large defense force under it talking about ambient sounds, water droplets in caves, and stuff and how it doesn't need music
Should they just give up?
It doesn't seem like they tried very hard yet. I like Oninaki way more than their other games though.
I have literally never seen this until it popped up on steam "suggested" list. Fuck of shill.
Any other month I would've copped it but not when Astral Chain, Daemon x Machina, Link's Awakening and Dragon Quest XI: definitive edition are all coming out
>tokyo factory trash
>good
nope never it will be
Yeah its fun. i literally just got done playing it for a bit and saw this thread.
dont listen to retards on v. if you liked diablo 2 and youre a weeb, its a fun game well worth 50 bucks if youre not a poorfag.
the story is an abomination so far (15 hours played)
combat is only good once you unlock and awaken a bunch of skills and use aisha or use instant kill procs
upgrade system is kind of weird and weapon rarities are meaningless since they all upgrade to the same amount of damage
enemies are all recolors and the main city is enormous despite only having a single usable shop
recovery animations are too fucking long
you only die because you get stunlocked
mob enemies have invuln phases
almost no soundtrack
enemy specific shadestones are retardedly rare
weapon socket rng
the second (half? I'm guessing) of the game is backtracking, triggering cutscenes, and backtracking some more
Square only doesn't put their in-house games on sale.
This.
Dammit
all the concept art is pretty nice but the game should seriously be like $15 max
It doesn't looks like it's worth playing at any prices.
Yes
the fact that menu lists don't scroll back up to the top when you reach the end is all you need to know about the game's quality
I'm kinda amazed how common this still is if I play anything that's not from long term veterans.
