lol I don't know, I'm not a fag
weebshit
Its use of Alien Manifestation
Being a game.
This.
A2 doesn't become real in the end and kill me
Environments look pretty unimpressive.
Yoko Taro sees its games not as games that should be "fun and challenging" to play. He sees his games as an excruciating excuse to tell his stories in a way that they appear more intense to the reader/player.
This implies that the whole game structure is secondary to the story that has to be told. Therefore, game-wise, it's all very shabby every second you look at it.
Ah also... Too much reference to the old fucking stories.
the entire character of 2B aka tails with a fat ass being who you spend most of the game playing as even though she has 0 personality besides wanting to fuck 9S and actively doesn't act interested about anything else in the game
so that the actual main characters 9S and A2 have to get all their shit rushed out in the later bits of the game and get their actual story filled out in books and shit outside of the game itself
>healing is done through a menu, removing any tension
>game is designed around quest markers
you can disable most of that stuff if you want muh immersion though other issues are on point still does not excuse it though but what ever works for ya
The gameplay was great and very varied.
WTF are you on exactly?
The map was very small leading us to the same locations far too many times. There were also too many invisible barriers.
Either you're talking out your ass, or "Taro" failed horribly, as Automata was very fun and challenging to play. Every single segment feels amazing.
> Too much reference to the old fucking stories.
How is this ever an "issue"?
The story was honestly one of Taro's weakest.
The gameplay was also too solid and fluid. The jank really adds to some moments.
Unironically in my top 30 all time games, up there with the likes of Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid & Resident Evil 4
I think gameplay is fine, but there are problems with balancing in Automata. Starting on Hard you'll get destroyed during the prologue, but you will have to switch to Hard eventually when you get too farmed lest the game gets too easy.
not having more futas
He mixes gameplay and story-telling in unique ways. It's pretty much a staple of his games. Most games put either story or gameplay way ahead of the other whereas Taro games use them together.
>Too much reference to the old fucking stories
Good, fuck secondaries
framerate
sweet image user
y-you too
Difficulty scaling was weak, made worse by the simplistic combat.
>>great story
Doesn't even feel like a story. Just a series of overtly and perplexingly symbolic sequences. Reminds me of a lot of Jap animated films.
You have to use them though, otherwise you're not getting you're moneys worth.
