i liked the sound effects

Yeah I loved it. Fun game back in the day.

Who is this "we"?

Game needs a remake desperately

Why were the ants so mean to the marshmallows?

you and me, of course

Grade SSS music

N64 was capable of good shit
shame theres no rare replay for switch

>we
I liked it, but it had tons of fucking problems. Back tracking out the ass, but the only reason to really explore being the fucking Tribal saving, which was required to beat them game. Un fun mini games, like a kart race, flying the robot. Some piss poor boss fights, which either require pin point precision on a console with no second stick, or using rockets to make sure you hit and still needing far too many of them to kill shit. Gimmick weapons which just end up clogging your weapon wheel, but at least there was a quick select.

It's best features were it's music, sense of dread and also how overwhelmed it could make you feel. Nothing like landing on a planet full of Zombie ants because your good friend Jeff fucked up.

hey Jeff had to make a decision

if i was Jeff id kill the whole planet to if the only other option was to make it a new nest for ant scum

Loved this game as kid

He didn't want to zombify everything, he was blowing them the fuck up. He just got hit and managed to hit the tree of life or whatever in the area and that caused everything to zombify. He even said himself that he fucked up and should have just waited for you to arrive, but he got pissed off seeing Tribals dragged off and not doing anything about it.

Horrible, horrible game. That's a cute model though.

How could Microsoft make a fun Jet Force Gemini reboot? Like an actually good one.

She had some huge fukken tiddies for a kids game

Microsoft couldn't. Just look at what they've done to Battletoads.
youtube.com/watch?v=7ncfTmQL8nI

enjoyed it myself. pretty fun blasting stuff and dealing with bosses
some great music and graphics for it's time

youtube.com/watch?v=-Efvh8yVnJE

of course. the collecting everything in the end to see the final boss was just a giant pain though

Don't do a reboot, make a sequel. Reboot/Remake almost never work out right. All they need to do is do the same kind of exploration that the original game had, make some fun mini games that are only required once. More variation in enemies. No stupid hide and seek/fetch bullshit. Better balance in weapons and movement options.

Shame that they would never do that, because it's easier to do. I never want to see Vela in a fucking suit.

I wanna FUCK Vela

pretty fun once you get used to the controls. Did anyone else notice how much JFG seems like a precursor to ratchet and clank? In so many ways its uncanny and i figured i could find the R&C devs talking about JFG being an inspiration to them but i found nothing

to add a question

what do you consider the best music in the game?

The lack of Vela R34 is a travesty. There should like hundreds of pics of her titty fucking Juno.

Live and Reloaded wasn't decent?

You ever look at fan work and think "damn these people do it for free, what the fuck is going on with actual developers?"

Attached: stian-s-sundby-vela-turnaround.jpg (1920x1080, 372K)

Incest isn't as popular as you would believe. Though I guess people forget that the two were suppose to be brother and sister.

That's fucking hard to say. All of the levels are good, but I guess the character select music. Nothing gets me more hype.

>that nose
Soulless.

>I YIELD, I YIELD

whats up with fan work nerfing character's proportions?

anywho the game is great until the forced tribal hunt at the end

Attached: 1316399524715.jpg (1024x768, 680K)

I almost felt bad for decapitating them when they did this. No I didn't

one of my most vivid memories of the N64 era was a big tongue rolling out and using that as a bridge inside

>he was scared of Tawfret

Probably could do it like the PS2 Ratchet and Clank games with lots of weapons and ants to kill but a good bit of platforming. Keep the AI smart than EDF waves as well where ants can flank you, gang up on you but if you come on too strong, they run away or surrender. Also fuckhuge bosses. Not sure who'd make it though.

Cool game

Dog could float, girl could swim, what did guy do again?

I can still hear those gunshots and bugs in my head

I was going to say Crawl, but that's not right. I don't think there was anything special about him.

Walk through lava.

Fucking hell, it was walk through lava. How in the hell that made any sense, I will never know.

Lead

It was great up until the last part
Still haven't beaten the game because fucking hell I don't want to track down every fucking tribal
yet I had the time to max out the head counter of tribals instead

He can walk in lava.

Juno could walk on lava.

This.

Fucking 10/10 game until "lol go back and collect everything, you fucking chump."

It was pretty shit, but a lot of that was due to console limitations and Rare's boner for collectibles.
The Rare Replay version is essentially a remake.

goddamnit OP you made me think there was gonna be a new game. But it was a good game.

Jet Force is so simple and so bad that a remake could actually work.
Worked for Blaster Master Zero.

I like how the intro immediately makes you hate the ants

>"it was just a prank, bro"

are you fucking kidding me

Attached: not meant for this world.jpg (221x195, 13K)

someone get me the boned model and i can make her do lewd things

Devs have extreme crunch time and fast turnarounds for projects

Fans can work at home and at their own pace.

And stuff like your pic look good as a static model but when it has to actually be rigged/move is another story

shit, forgot pic

this

gib

i honestly love this game and i don’t know why it isn’t considered a classic among the other rare shooters like goldeneye and perfect dark. they only problems it really suffered from, in my opinion, is problematic controls and a bare bones plot.

That model would actually be pretty good for the purposes of a Jet Force remaster, if only because the animations of the original are super simple.

It worked out well for Blaster Master because the original barely had any story anyway and then you had conflicts between the japanese story and english story and people making manga and novels based off of each and then sequels either completely ignoring the original story or reboots that tried to do their own thing as well, but more closely resembling the japanese story.

I think a reboot that combined both the original games English and Japanese stories was for the best and Wayforward is also a much better company then Microsoft is when it comes to honoring a games memory and legacy. If they had JFG and were more versed in making a 3d game, then I would say go for it. But holy hell, no. As long as Rare is in Microsoft's hands, anything they churn out will be a pile of shit.

>Wayforward
Blaster Master is IntiCreates, dude.

>Turn my back onto the
>They start throwing grenades
Motherfuckers, blasted them to bits and green goo after that, or just shooting at every leg and arm... and then to the head.

Dammit I was just about to post this

Attached: Screenshot_20190823-180300.png (1440x2880, 2.67M)

Why would a soldier wear white cotton panties on a journey filled violent combat and deaths?

i need the bones man, with bones i can make her do anything

Unfortunately I've got no idea how to get that from the ArtStation. I'm guessing you already have that link since you posted a screenshot.

The true pioneer of the TPS even though GoW gets all the credit. JFG is unironically my favorite Rare game and I will forever lament that the Gameboy game and webcomic never came to fruition.

Attached: 1566354411962.png (466x486, 81K)

I remember a silly thing stopped me from completing it back in 1998 when I was 8 years old. I think you had to complete a minigame to rescue all the animals?

looks like armor to me

Attached: file.png (1600x900, 690K)

The controls in the rare replay version suck ass. Even the "newer" control scheme they patched in sucks. The sensitivity is too high and you can't adjust it. Makes the game impossible to play.

What color panties would you wear?

Yes, there were many mini games. You had to do a racing one as well as three different robot missions and you had to complete the last one in under a minute to get the ear plugs. That was a hold up for a lot of people.

none

the mini games were not that bad. the collecting in the end though...

her skirt is retard short too. i like it. shame about the "westerners trying to copy sailor moon" face though

>Played hundreds and hundreds of hours of this game as a kid
>Loved it to death
>Rare Replay comes out
>Everyone complains that the game is literally unplayable
>Says the aiming is all kinds of wack
>Always wonder why they think that
>Brush it off as people not understanding pre-GoW controls
>Watch some random review in my YT recs
>Guy talks about controls in-depth
>Sounds completely different and wrong from how I played
>Learn that the default controls have some sort of auto-aim system that completely fucks with how you play

I must have switched to different control scheme early on and just never switched back. I don't have ANY auto-aim. I manually aim with R, which lets me move around with the C buttons.
Otherwise, I just run around like any normal third-person adventure game. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

We onry rike japanese games with japanese characters doing japanese things.

i remember them releasing a patch for rare replay that made the controls better or something.

>Devs have extreme crunch time and fast turnarounds for projects
>
>Fans can work at home and at their own pace.
I issue with this statement is all the streams of Fans doing this shit in like 2-3 days or a week max. One is a job and the other is a passion project.

The game always had auto aim when you weren't manually aiming with R. But it also had a strong 'snap' to anything that was a valid target, such as enemies. This meant that you only had to get things in the general vicinity of something for your crosshair to get over it if you let the control stick go. This made targeting easy for the N64 version, if a little bit goofy to get use to.

>But it also had a strong 'snap' to anything that was a valid target
If it did, it wasn't noticeable at all. The way people were describing it is that the game went into this close-up TPS mode when getting close to enemies.
When I play, I can always move freely unless I hold R and there is never any snapping.

Vela had a scary face

>The way people were describing it is that the game went into this close-up TPS mode when getting close to enemies.

It did this too, but you had to be extremely close up. Character would become transparent and you had a greater view, but it did this very rarely. Mostly in tight spaces where the camera would be slamming into things. Typically it would try to keep it's distance from your character. Here is a great example of this happening youtu.be/tIFLQYTnxuk?t=3115

Most stand out memory I have of this was being able to execute Koalas, you were supposed to save them or something. That and playing as the dog.

I really enjoyed the exploration and the third-person shooting. The ant enemies are really cool, the way you can dismember them and collect their heads.

I don't understand. All I see is someone using manual aiming here, which is how I do it too.
youtu.be/roD9ctfIe5E?t=377
Here's a review I watched that explains it. Notice how he goes transparent without any crosshair showing up?
This never happens to me ever.

Ah, that's one of the alternate control methods of the original game. It was suppose to be a more simple style, so you wouldn't have to manual aim, the game just switched for you. I don't know how he had that enabled, considering the option is so buried.

I remember a whole planet just being water and a polar bear.

What was it's deal?

That was a side things. You needed the ear plugs from the final mini game to give him and then he gave you a key, I think and that let you get into a side area with more Tribals to save.

Water Ruins. It's just that. A large ruins with tons of water.
There's some secret shit hidden in an underwater cavern, but that's it.

do you think they ever fugged the dog

I like that /r9k/ has gotten to the point where there computational need to feel cucked is no longer fulfilled by imagining every white woman with a black guy and they now need literal beastiality

The item models and the menus have so much soul, it's nuts. OoT-tier.

Attached: jfg pistol.gif (300x200, 1.87M)

fuck those suicidal bear things and fuck having to find them all

Post more Vela please

This game was never meant to be played with anything but a N64 controller.

Antmen are cute! CUTE!

I played it last year and didnt have any problems with controls. 100% only took about 10-15 hours. Good game

I couldn't find all the tribals in velas first level so fuck me I guess

That is the know fanart

having to do it all over again if they die..

The Gameboy game is actually finished
It just never came out

In Rarereplay, Vela Tits has jiggly physics when she moves

Outa my fucking way nerds best song coming through
youtube.com/watch?v=rDABjx-tuPI

I feel like JFG was one of the semi-forgotten titles of Rare in the N64 era, I really did like a ton about it but it did kind of descend into DK64 style fetch-quest hell near the end

apparently. it also was supposed to get a web comic set after the game with juno vela and lupus redesigns

They always jiggled even in the N64.
>Memories of manipulating the camera against walls for some close-up shots of Vela's jiggles

Always pissed me off that Rareware didn't utilize Expansion Pack to enhance this game or Conker.

RareWare needs to be clean slated and replaced with devs who care until Microsoft can get them pumping out Nintendo quality games every eight months

youtube.com/watch?v=G3dQLs7n79U
thanks for singlehandedly giving me dreams of the same shit all my life
also
youtube.com/watch?v=6-xr5BcXIF0

Started playing it several times, but always ended up dropping it. Either because the game was bullshit hard or because I wasn't in the mood to collect all those shitty tribals.

>Did we

Stop being a faggot.

Hey Captain Low IQ, JFG Came out in the 90s

I hate it, but I'd fuck Vela. Not gonna lie.

zombie planet was scary

I think it looks fine.
But I just want more JFG content.

Hopefully Banjo brings some stuff for Smash.

Abandoned Station is worse

Wait... I know that style.

You're fucking with me.

I can't decide if it's better or worse this got canned.

Yeah, it was pretty fun. I have the character select music burned indelibly into my brain, though.

For me it's the taking off theme. So short but damn it if it doesn't hype me up.

The artist a man of ill repute or something?

Was it just me, or did the instrumentation change depending on the planet?

I would certainly buy a Jet Force Gemini remake, if it were available for $20 and supported user modding and offline play!
I would definitely not buy a Jet Force Gemini remake, if it had microtransactions and games-as-service features.

What I found most weird when this game was released is that all the attention was focused on Donkey Kong, but Jet Force Gemini was actually the good game Rare was making, while DK was just completely disposable garbage.

Well, it's not like Jet Force Gemini was ignored. It did quite well for itself, and remains a popular game to this day.

fave weapon?

Furry who has a thing for transformation. You can find his stuff in the usual places. I think many people dislike that he has the ability to draw cute girls but waste it on drawing grotesque muscle beast.

Hm. Well, takes all different sorts to run the world, I guess.

conker's pocket tales vibes, this game seems legit

tri and homing
