Personally i liked SOME of it.
It's a big ass clusterfuck and actually you're supposed to alternate 2 different series, future and past.
You're supposed to start with the first "future" episode, and then watch one "past" episode.
And you need to keep alternating them.
It's interesting in some ways but people dislike it because it's messy as fuck and very confusing.

It's not shit. But it's nowhere near the level of quality and intrigue/mystery that Danganronpa 1 and 2 had. And it's not a great "ending" to the series.

DR3 (Future and Despair Arcs) are the follow up anime to the 2nd game. The anime for the first game from the people who made Ass Class, is unrelated. If you only saw DR1, you didn't fuck up.
They aired in alternating order, and the plots directly work together, where like one episode in the past (Despair) will be related to some event in the Future arc.

DR3 ends the original Hopes Peak arc essentially. Regardless of quality, it's the end of the stories there (for now, at least). Why did you play 2 before 1 though? That kills some big plot points in both

DR1 is Trigger Happy Havoc. Do you mean Ultra Despair Girls? The 3rd person shooter with Komaru and Toko. Playing that before watching DR3 is wise too, not required but there's a few references to the story in it

It's largely unrelated to V3 but play it before watching 3's anime. Games story is great on its own anyway. Toko and Komaru banter is S tier.
