Yes. You can run them in higher resolutions with all the graphics candy of modern games, some even have hi-res texture packs.

Disgaea 2 is pretty good, 1 is okay but if you get it make sure not to kill any allies, since that automatically makes you get the bad end. I think throwing prinnies counts as an ally kill, but can't remember.
