No matter how good you make a model look, it will hit the uncanney valley unless it's animated by someone with skill. Preset animations, motion capture and every common method looks wrong. Also you only need mods that every card will be using. Clothing pack mods and hairmods are pretty much all you need.
Otherwise mods are stored in the cards when they are saved out and then extract the mods in the appropriate place when you load them up. No massive mod pack or sideloader stuff needed.

One thing AA2 doesn't have and it is a big downside for me is Pregnancy risk days ( with mods you can go bareback even if she says NO)

There will be a repository with all the .pp2 files - mods using a new compression algorithm, AAU allows for simple drag and dropping of mods- but no there’s no repack because mods change or have more added to them.

I find Honey Select's semi-realism a bit creepy in some cases. When the character looks more like a Tekken fighter, I still tolerate it, but there are several players who try to make more realistic models that start falling in the uncanny valley.
That's why I prefer Koikatu.

One thing that Honey Select does better is having decent skin types built in that don't require new texture maps or mods. Choosing from four types that only really present themselves with the right lighting settings is depressing. Making a soft body shouldn't require extra hurdles to jump through.
