Plat 1 in 2v2, Plat 2 in 3v3.

It has a low skill floor, high skill ceiling, simple mechanics that are hard to master and it's fun at every level of play as long as games are balanced. If you don't want to play it competitively that's your choice, RL has a lot of casual players. But there's also a good chunk of the playerbase that spends a fair amount of time perfecting their aerials like autists.

I just have all chat disabled so I don't have to listen to anyone, communication may be important starting diamond but I'm not planning on ever reaching that level.
I mostly play Ranked because there are almost no leavers which is a huge pain to deal with in Normal, both in your team and the enemy's.

I try to do that,but its so different when youre in game making decisions vs watching a replay. Watching pros play actually made me feel confident to try things i wouldnt normally go for

I'd like more game modes from them, and newer maps. Aside from the cosmetic apocalypse they brought in with the rocket pass.

also the majority of the playerbase is fucking terrible at the game, my friend and I can't even fly correctly, play for like 5 hours/week every few months and we're almost champion level

I don't understand how people can get so mad playing RL. Compared to other games, time investment is minimal (games are between 5 and 8 minutes), surrendering is easy, games are balanced most of the time... Compared to ASSFAGGOTS where you're taken hostage by 2 retards for 35 minutes it's night and day.
If anything RL is the game I play when I don't feel like risking getting mad.

See the difference between say a game like Dota 2 and Rocket league is that there is more skill involved. Games like dota are designed to be 'pro' in nature. Have a look at this years dota TI, 33million dollars, wonder why? Now lets take a game like rocket league. Incredibly simple. Very easy to play. Not much skill involved at all. People who play this game think they're actually smart for getting a goal with their amazing 'skills' but in reality they're just hitting a stupid ball around. Its no different from FIFA Pro tournaments and Overwatch.
In summary these games that are casual in nature are designed to be and have no presence in e-sports.
