For some reason they decided to dump the sandbox system the game started out with, it's gradually been becoming more and more of a themepark. Combine this with constant system changes and area revamps consuming dev time and you have a recipe for disaster. As it currently stands every new area is soulless and dead, has some shit quests and a few dungeons, and some mob families with shitty annoying fight mechanics. They even scrapped the old nations which had tons of neat stuff in them and replaced them with boring shitholes covered in pointless annoying NPCs that are supposed to make the place look more alive but instead bring to mind maggots on a carcass.
They clearly stopped giving a shit at the point heroes were implemented, the game is basically only still alive because there are some whales they can continue to make money from. Updates are so infrequent and half assed that I don't believe for one second that there is anyone working on the game full time. It's a complete pile of shit, if you want to try it play Dofus instead.
