Watching Ryburi play Hyde, I don't think I've ever seen a pogo Oki ever work. Is his timing off and it's secretly a great Oki move or is it a slightly odd choice for Oki used sparingly to catch someone off guard?

I've personally seen better success rate as trick you do for stagger pressure after running up in someone's face.
Using it for some meaty set-up might be a bit awkward to time since the start-up is so slow

Whiffing it means certain death since you're recovering from the air and it needs to be blocked for it to be plus.

It sounds risky to use but +14 to +24 frame advantage seems really good if timed perfectly.

The environment on Yea Forums for me is the most important one since it's where I play and chat so while I understand your point, Yea Forums being a good place to play is all I need and wish for.

I used to hate but then I start paying attention to when they have GRD. They'll never use it when they don't have CS so there's no reason to look out for it. Same with Nanase's follow up Overhead that can't lead into anything else unless she has CS.

Deep down one part of me hopes UNIST never reaches that point, that part hopes that it gets dropped from the EVO main stage as a way to maintain smaller numbers and a purer population, if you understand what I mean.

I'm sorry but I would have to disagree. My observations show me that once it becomes more about the personalities than the game, you've hit a point where people from outside the game who don't understand it start becoming loud voices who don't accurately represent the silent majority.

I do think the way people interact with something over social media does 100% deteriorate as a result of popularity I just don't think it inherently makes the game itself or potential irl experiences worse. Like if you like soccer, it being the most played sport in the world doesn't mean it isn't fun to play, it that you can't develop genuine kinship with strangers over it. At least that's my take on it.

To me, this is the most important part of the community.
A game can be fun but if you have people you can hang with, get better with and there is no drama with then it makes that game infinitely better.
For example, I'm a firm believer of not making games easier. Everyone who plays a hard game shares an understanding that there is some level of talent or hardwork involved which everyone shares and it's something to bond over and grow the community with.
