Planning on playing the Armored Core series, any games I should skip?
Planning on playing the Armored Core series, any games I should skip?
honestly? just play ac4:fa, and try ac2
the early ps1 and ps2 games have really bad controls and camera control, and some of them are just brutally hard
V has this horrible fucking thing where you constantly have to enter a scanning mode which disables weapons, and a retarded damage type triangle that can completely fuck you if you run out of ammo for one type
the portable games arent even worth mentioning
up to you, if you dont like them
the only stand out ones are ninebreaker which is mainly focusing on the arena part of AC universe, and formula front which is designing an AI and watching them fight other ACs
Almost all of the PS1 and PS2 entries are pretty good; even the worst of them is still pretty enjoyable if you like the series. I'm not a fan of any of the later entries, but you should still probably try them and decide for yourself what you think of them.
AC Nexus
AC 2
AC Last Raven
AC4a
There
Skip the HD games and just play the PSX and PS2 titles.
What said. Skip everything else with the exception being AC4 (vanilla).
Why does he have a shield on his left leg that he doesn't on his right?
It's mainly there for using heavy weapons like the sniper cannon so it pops out and covers you.
when they use shoulder-mounted weaponry that require themselves to stabilize by taking a kneeling stance they put the leg with the shield out so they can take reduced on coming damage as they line up a sniper cannon shot or whatever heavy-duty weapon they use that requires them to sit still is why.
Which AC should I emulate Yea Forums?
The 3.5 series is still shit, was always shit, and will always be shit.
You take that back right now
Nexus
2 and AA are pretty bad, but every other PS1 and PS2 AC I've played have been great.
Not sure about 4 and beyond, I heard they were awful
>type in "ac2 intro" on youtube to see that sweet cutscene and hear the music
>fucking assassin's creed 2 pops up
MOTHERFUCKER. But have this fresh oc webm.
4 and for answer are up there.
V and Verdict Day are considered to be one of the worst AC games. Its especially worse if you're jumping from the more fast paced action of For Answer and straight to V.
they're all worth playing to some degree but playing through 4A really made me appreciate the entire series a whole lot more
it's also the easiest in terms of maneuverability, which can be a huge entry-barrier with earlier titles
Pull up
This makes me feel better, i played 4a around when it came out, then went back and played 3 later then jumped to last raven and wondered why i was sucking ass so hard.
>any games I should skip?
Left Alive.
Wrong series.
I only like the early ones with the "bad contols" ac4 was really shitty with bad controls
>4/4A faggots still talking shit about V/VD because they had to actually use their brain instead of relying on slapping the boost button like a monkey in a rocket
Fucking pathetic. VD brought some grounded weight back to the series, has the best team battles in any mecha game where you have to work as a squad to succeed, and legitimately only brainlets can't manage their drones and scans mid fight.
V is awful because it's a multiplayer-focused game with a really poorly thought out MP system. It didn't help that Bamco fucked it over really hard with the patches for the English version, either.
VD would be amazing if they scrapped the horrendous damage types, but it's still a great game. Just wish they eventually made the online bosses more accessible.
>Track-AC master race reporting in. Seriously though if you want to easymode the ps2 games go track.
>Trackvirgins can't greentext
QuadChads win again
