JoD sucks don't bother with it
It's more like an arcade game in design, which isn't an issue in my eyes. I can see why it might be in others but then again JoD expanded on the game with far more content and it's such a worse game as a result it's depressing. If they ever make a third Nights game I hope they just make it some $20 download only thing because I get the impression that's the only way they'll be able to make a compact package that doesn't feel like a bloated mess.

NiGHTS was an amazing series but it was ruined by so many flawed titles. Don't get me wrong there were gems like the VS games and that one weird Dreamcast game where you played almost completely in the Waking World. Who expected NiGHTS Team could pull off a decent horror title? But NiGHTS Dreamverse was a mixed bag. We got to explore Nightopia and safeish pockets of Nightmare but it felt too much like a generic fantasy setting rather than the bizarre dreamlands we've come to expect.
As for Sonic? Well, we all knew it was a niche Genesis series. They tried to do something different with Tails Adventure but the series proper was just another level-based platformer in a market flooded with the like. Props for the level designs allowing for more than one route though. I heard there was a game that came out on the DS but with how Sega's stuff has been lately...

Sadly these are already things. I remember seeing a whole group of hilariously bad Nightmaren OCs and almost all of them rebelled against Wizeman.

Unlikely. Sonic was riding the fan autism wave high by the Saturn/GameCube eras, which is what kept him alive even through his shit games. NiGHTS kind of only works with the 360-directional movement. As someone who has just played it on Steam, I can say I'm very disappointed when you can only move in octagonal directions.
Sonic just had more avenues to go in. NiGHTS kind of just had more NiGHTS to fall onto, which turned out to not be enough.
