Trashing the lab is Geralt living out his (and you, the player’s) distrust of Avallac’h, not actually helping Ciri to calm down and not do something shitty to someone she cares about. If you care about Ciri’s feelings, you care about her relationship more than your opinions. In retrospect it’s clearly set up as “be afraid Ciri can’t control her rage and will explode violently and uncontrollably” but again, the dialogue choices don’t make it clear.
