So is he more of an overrated hack than Tarantino is or less?
So is he more of an overrated hack than Tarantino is or less?
He's actually made good games in the past, Taro never has.
niec bayt
Tarantino has never made a bad movie and Kojima has never made a bad game.
I have a conspiracy theory where I unironically think he’s severely autisic and makes impulse games off of that. Tell me his tweets aren’t autistic, I dare you
Twin Snakes
All of Kojima's games has been good in spite of him. Tarantino has never made a good movie with the exception of Resivor Dogs which was a fluke. "Durr I put scenes out of chronological order too deep for you"
When did we lose the actual meaning of hack?
Tarantino is praised because most people have bad taste in film. Kojima is praised because gamers want gaming to be taken seriously and they need a famous game director for that. That being said, Tarantino is 100x more talented than Kojima.
More.
That's a good game, people only hate it because the cutscenes clash with the tone of the original game and the rest of the series
When RLM started using it so their legions of mindless fanboys just started parroting it for everyone
Well Kojima only makes movies so it’s no wonder he hasn’t made a bad game
This
He didn't direct Twin Snakes he produced it. All the games Kojima has directed have been good
>Tarantino is praised because most people have bad taste in film.
>Trying this hard to be a contrarian faggot
Tarantino is one of the most talented filmmakers ever and certainly the most talented active at peak in the world currently. You may not like his movies or style but there's no way you can say his movies aren't extremely well made.
So what exactly has Kojima done wrong?
>#1 rule of story telling: don't have useless dialogue/scenes
>here's an edgy take on Like a Virgin being aboit a girl that's been fucked a thousand times that has nothing to do with the rest of the story
Yeah, so well made.
Everything since MGS3
guessing you haven't seen once upon a time in hollywood lmao. it's gutter fucking filth
There's nothing wrong with liking him, but saying he's the most talented ever and the most talented active is retarded. Godard is still alive and kicking, and I hate him.
Tarantino isn't a hack though
non-based ironic shitposting weeb neet
Kojima definitely is though
Literally his only good movie, you have trash taste.
It's like he's second best/ I'm afraid you got filtered by the hangout movie of the decade user
Hateful 8 was way worse.
Tarantino has respect for the defining elements of his medium of choice, Kojima has a complete lack of it for his. Take a guess.
Less, easily. Kojima has made some of the best games of all time, Tarantino has never made a game.
I WISH THE KOJIMA HATE MEME NEVER HAPPENED GOD DAMN IT
IT WAS FUN FOR A COUPLE WEEKS NOW WE CAN’T HAVE MGS THREADS BECAUSE OF YOU FAGGOTS
The only people who genuinely believe this are the type who think 1994 was the greatest year for film ever and other embarrassing opinions. You love his movies because you don't have to think, you just have to enjoy a scene with music and masturbatory dialogue about some quirky reference to a movie or song. Expand your knowledge before you call him the greatest anything and don't just get your opinions from imdb top 250
let me guess. you hated that movie because like most people, you were expecting some action heavy, cowboy film but instead you just got lots of talking.
Nice wojack riparte, just as to be expected from a Tarantino fanboy
>haha im so cool for hating popular thing
If you think anyone is too plebian for a fucking Tarantino film, and Hateful Eight at that, then that is hilarious. It's literally schlock. Jesus Christ man, it's even way more action packed than the average western, but you wouldn't know that because you don't watch anything older than the 90s.
As petty as it may be, the barfing of a continuous stream of blood in the woman’s face is what sealed the deal for the movie being shit. Just felt so random, out of place, and tasteless.
But 4 is my favorite entry.
>Projecting this hard
I totally get people who either don't like his movies or think he's wasted his talent and never fullfilled his potential. All I'm saying is the dude is a pure filmmaker. As talented as they come. He just happens to love making masturbatory movies about other shit he likes. His movies are of undeniable quality, whatever your personal opinions about them are. I happen to be thoroughly underwhelmed by the LotR movies for example, or the original Bladerunner, but I can see they are extremely well made movies. I just don't like them. I guess I made my point
If you pay Tarantino to make a movie, he'll make a movie. If you pay Kojima to make a video game, he'll make a movie.
GOTY
>well made
>forget to put the scenes in the right order and just releases the movie in the order the scenes were shot
Bravo! *clap clap clap* *wipes tear of joy* Bravo!
What an absolute retarded troglodyte
You absolute clown, being a good filmmaker isn't about having the potential to make good films. Tarantino has access to the greatest actors in the world, great editors, he can shoot on the most expensive film and so on. How you can call someone the best filmmaker ever when they use that to make schlock just shows that you're a smooth brained idiot who doesn't want a lasting experience from what he watches. A garbage looking movie like for example Detour will be way better than anything Tarantino makes because it has originality, soul and meaning behind it.
You’re a total lost cause.
The amount of "trying way too hard" reeking from this post is incredible.
> being a good filmmaker isn't about having the potential to make good films.
Correct. Didn't say otherwise. My point is QT has almost exclusively made really well made movies, you just don't seem to like them, which is fine.
>How you can call someone the best filmmaker ever
I didn't
Stop trying this hard. No one cares.
Absolutely more. Tarantino has actually contributed to his industry. What games can you say were inspired by Metal Gear?
>Godjima is so powerful his enemies make themselves look foolish
Kojima has influenced the industry greatly. Without him we wouldn't have such great games as Heavy Rain,Until Dawn, Be- wait I'm starting to see a pattern here
fuck off back to Yea Forums with your shit taste
I dont know, it feels its not black or white. He hated the MGS Franchise at one point. He was tired of it. Already at MGS3 he obviously started to make fun of the legacy of the game, namely big boss. At MGS4 he was completely burned out and had a more or less severe depression. Its reflected in the game. He never finished "5", we dont know why, but even he admits its an failure. What its lacking is written in its name. Also its V, not 5 for him.
As he gets so much hate here for beeing a hack, I can get that to some disagree with him and think he can seem over the top. For me his work, as with every artist, is more important than his character. I find the things he makes extremely funny and somehow invigorating like nothing else. Lets take the Stealth Spionage genre for instance: I think Splinter Cell is by far superior when it comes to depict stealth, but it completely lacks the unpredictibality of MGS games.
And this is the biggest thing he lost with his last games. I think with Death Stranding he will bring this back. Look at how no one even knows how this game will play and feel.
If it fails, well it will take a long time for him to recover. in the end i think hes to much of a narcissist to fuck this one up tho. He learned from MGS V
It's funny to me that you think that.
He is probably more overrated then dark souls games so that's pretty fucking high
I did not like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Don't get me wrong, OP sucks big cock and Tarantino is a genius, but OUaTiH suuuuuuuucked.
I'm actually pretty upset about it, because it's Tarantino's first bad movie. He could have had a clean record.
You completely missed the point of that scene. It was supposed to demonstrate that these guys have no idea how women work. Which is hammered in further by Mr. Pink admitting he doesn't tip waitresses. This ends up foreshadowing Mr. Orange getting shot by a female driver.
The real question we should be asking is if he is more of an overrated hack than Tarantino is or less?
Jesus fuck you guys are like a hundred synchronized broken records
>has never made a bad movie
Faggots like the people in this thread confirm the daunting truth that no matter how talented you are, no matter how hard you work, no matter how much you push to bring new things to the table, there will always be a pack of contrarians frothing at the mouth trying to tear you down. Thank you all for reminding me that I should just make whatever I want to make and not give a shit about what people say.
most people are trash parroting low lives that find nothing better to do than try to convince people their borrowed opinion is superior.
I mean yeah this board is notoriously contrarian for no reason at all. It's pathetic, I know.
okay retard
based
>I mean yeah
Everytime someone starts with this I know I JUST KNOW
I mean you are on Yea Forums where total failures reside. A lot of bitter and angry fucks here and those are the kind who hate the most, then they'll go and post about how lonely they are in the next tfw no gf thread.
>I mean yeah
Everytime someone starts with this I know I JUST KNOW
unironically this
>muh movie game
Nice meme, but MGS provides far more emergent gameplay than any other stealth game. In MGS3 for example guards would starve if you destroy their food, use their pistols if you destroy their ammo, run for food when they're hungry, react with fear when you toss a live snake near them, run from swarms of bees or react to out of place boxes in the jungle. The game featured a camouflage index affected by weather and surface type allowing the player freedom unlike other stealth games where you simply have to hide in shadows. You can go prone to crawl near enemies at the cost of speed. You could shoot enemy radios to prevent them from calling back up. You had to eat to maintain grip and also make sure your food didn't rot. No other stealth game featured nearly as many gameplay mechanics, and all combined with a kino story and endearing characters that give purpose to the game unlike the dull worlds of stealth games such as Thief and Splinter Cell.
