Hilda is only a soft "second in command" she has a fairly high recruitment cost, but you are completely allowed to poach her. The only caveat is that she falls into the "We hate Edelgard" club with Catherine and Cyril, where she won't join you if you have Edelgard on your team (which also means you have to wait until the last month to recruit her if you're going church.)

I totally agree that even in her own route she is the instigator of the war and still makes use of methods and temporary alliances that probably make her want to vomit.

But that's the point, she's not happy about any of it, if she thought she had a good chance of doing it all cleanly I'm sure she would have but they had to write a game where the three houses would end up in conflict and she drew the short straw.

In light of that and considering that the other two most definitely aren't evil in her route, or their own obviously, you could still say she's the "most" evil, but I still would stop short of considering her to be in any way actually evil.

I like how characters have multiple crit animations.

There are paralogues that actually require you to poach characters from other houses to see.
Example, on non-BE routes, you can get a paralogue between Caspar and Mercedes that will actually add a new scene to the story later on if completed.

The bonus scene is only on Blue Lions. I tried it on church after doing the paralogue and it didn't work.
