Why is jrpg lore and worldbuilding so cringe, inconsistent and almost non-existant compared to kino Wrpg lore and worldbuilding?

there never was a Japanese Tolkien who was autistic concerning lore
But they made so many games though. You'd think something would improve but it's all terrible.
WRPGs have shit gameplay and graphics so they can only make their games interesting with lore.
They lived on a tiny island for 5000 years with little external contact. They don't have as much access/understanding of the world, as many different traditions to draw from.
They only know what was in China's area of influence + what they themselves came up with.
They can be as imaginative as they want, they're as big as France. They can't compete with the immensity of Europe+Middle East.
India is halfway through, so I won't count it.
That's some weak excuses tbqh.
A reasonable and well rounded answer, I can respect that user.
Fuck, meant for
Lore in games is in general shit. For both western and japanese games.
Not for Elder Scrolls though, for typical jrpg that'd be the normal observation.
Lore in Elder Scrolls isn't as good as it was. Though it has nothing to do with what I said. The majority of RPG have shit lore every origin comprised.
FF13 has better more than TES.
Fuck off phoneposter.
wasn't tes fluff literally retconned for more sales?
that's worse if anything
But it does. It has best most over TES.
>isn't as good as it was
It's always been good though. And it has eveeything to do with what you said saying all rpg's have shit lore when Elder Scrolls and to an extent Fallout prove you wrong.
>saying all rpg's have shit lore
>majority
>in general
Learn2read nigger.
Because in Japan they make new settings even for games in the same franchise. As a result the settings are usually little more than the stage for your enjoyment.
That's never been JRPG's strong suit. They are most definitely getting better at it though. FE3H has a crazy amount of worldbuilding, and the world feels pretty real. It seems to me like Japanese games in general are not as detail oriented as Western games. Like in RDR2, they animated the horse's balls shrinking in the cold, a Japanese dev would never spend their time doing something like that.
Tactics Ogre has great lore.
What about Kojima? He's Japanese and pretty autistic about small gameplay details
please someone could tell me what manga the crying elf is, I forgot about it :(
Well there are certainly exceptions, but even look at Kojima and his games. A white American protagonist for decades, and mainly Western side characters. He's definitely got a lot of Western influence in his development philosophy.
>Final Fagtasy
Lmao that's the most cringiest shit to ever bring up. Doesn't even do magic and technology combination right like Elex.
Dungeon meshi ?
>wasn't tes fluff literally retconned for more sales?
dunno but I wouldn't put it past them.
Todd is insane.
It's because Elves are from Scandinavian mythology and are still worshipped in Iceland.
It's how Japs don't have problems portraying Christendom in a theme park way (just like we do with Greek, Viking and Egypt mythology, Hinduism and Shinto).
For them Elves are like for us Kappas. If you think Japanese Elves are bad, you need to look at how Koreans depict Dwarves. The male look like usual, but the females are all some Anime girls with omnicolour hair.
Except it does, as fal’cies are literally mechanical gods.
The only merit to this autistic claim is Cyrodiil isn't a Vietnamese jungle and instead nice Northern England with sheep praries and forests. Bethesda never retcons lore as bad as autists want you to believe.
Yes, see
a lot of Final Fantasy entries had interesting lore though. Like FF6, 8 and 12. Speaking of 12, Ivalice-related lore is pretty cool anyway and Yea Forums is autistic about FFT anyway. That's pretty much the ceiling next to Castlevania lore and Kojima games around. Yea Forums is only more autistic about TES and original Fallout/F:NV, in fact.
yeas, that one
thanks user
>Bethesda never retcons lore as bad as autists want you to believe.
What is TESO.
What about Dark Souls lore?
t. Autist just because Cyrodiil isn't the stupid fucking Jungle Caius said it was in Morrowind doesn't mean Bethesda break the lore.
It’s fucking shit. Vagueness does not equal quality.
I mean ESO let's us see Sotha Sil and made it so the White Gold Tower acts as a climate controlling magical construct. Aylieds liked sweltering nasty humid Jungle, Alessia and her recently freed human slaves prefered Yorkshire meadowland for better farming and settling.
It exactly means that unless you believe that during the 6 years between Morrowind and Oblivion there was huge climatic changes in Cyrodiil.
why was Cyrodiil a jungle in that Morrowind book though? they should at least be consistent. I know why it's a standard forest. it's so they can keep the jungle meme for Valenwood. Oblivion's landscape is still fucking boring with the total exception of the Shivering Isles which had swamps and weird trees and giant mushrooms and a duality concept reflected in the landscape, far more interesting dungeons than the main game and all that.
Which prince would you worship Yea Forums?
TESO shits everywhere on the lore and brought more contradictions and retcon than ever.
This guy explains well.
tamriel-rebuilt.org
Western RPGs: Grimdark crap where you get overloaded with generic character names and invariably fight a dragon
Japanese RPG: Extremely colorful and the important characters immediately stick out due to having special portraits/being hot waifus
Azura. She's the less likely to fuck you up unless you betray her she then would throw meteors at you.
None of them lmao
Why Jyggalag didn't appear in skyrim?
Yeah, it does. One of the first games I realized how much lore matters.
none because I'm not a retard but if I really had to it's gonna be Azura or even Sheogorath (he's nice enough sometimes from what we know but it would depend on whether he warps your mind so you're insane after worship or not though).
Busy meandering around the planes of Oblivion
FF lore is fucking gay, inconsistent and stupid all around. Why would towns in a modern era setting still be isolated into far off villages where monsters actively dwell in between? That makes no sense because you'd have modern transportstion like roads, aircraft and booming population that makes hostile wildlife move far away from civilization. Second why are people using fucking swords when high caliber modern firearms are common? It just does everything so wrong that Elex did much better because it was after a cataclysm to a modern world that brought magic and devestation to explain the sparce population.
Who's the strongest and most evil daedric prince?
because we banished him in Oblivion? I don't remember it all that well but I think if you become Sheogorath you break the cycle forever.
what's good world building for a game?
i never see the reasons elaborated on
Imagine putting Warhammer or Elder Scrolls Elves on a tier with Tolkien elves
Cringe.
Unironically Sanguine.
If I'm forced to worship one I would go with Sheo for teh lulz, otherwise, none of them.
New game when ?
Mehrunes Dagon or Molag Bal are the evilest. There's no stronger one.
You Mantle Sheogorath in Oblivion while breaking the Greymarch curse. And with Jyggalag leaving his sword in your throne room I think it's symbolic to why we never see him again after 200 years of being curse free. He's done trying to bring order to the chaos of Oblivion because there's just no point.
You're right, those elves and dwarves are better than Tolkiens basic and boring bitch versions.
Sanguine and Azura are the best ones.
Should I bother using daedric weapons in Morrowind despite their shitty weapon health?
Just summon them.
JESUS CHRIST, the Prince of Peace.
Daedric weapons are pretty good at killing ghost enemies if you got no enchantments or magic.
I think it's time for me to dump some of my images from my TES folder. Any requests?
nobody knows for sure but it's either
Mehrunes Dagon, Mephala or Molag Bal.
the rest are tame compared to those.
Mephala questline got actually heavily cut from Skyrim, not sure why but it was rather heavy because it was about Balgruuf getting killed by his own kids under Mephala's influence and then Hrongar would become the new Jarl.
Mehrunes Dagon is all about hell and destruction as we know it from Oblivion gates
And Molag Bal is a straight up evil cunt who gave the world vampirism and other fucked up shit.
While japanese people were living in shitty huts and fishing all day western civilization had already developed a long canon of literature full of history and timeless fiction from which to learn and draw upon.
but then you'd have to talk about the literature contributions from China as well which are just as vast. Although so much knowledge got burned while all these places were sacked.
Molag Bal is the most evil Daedra. Creating necromancy, soul trapping, black soul gems, vampires. Literally everything and anything possible to make the Divines, Meridia, Azura Boethiah go fuck themselves.
I plan on playing Morrowind for the first time sooner or later. Should I make an argonian or a khajiit hand to hand killing machine?
What about it is fucking vague? Did you believe people when they said it was hard, too? You're just as retarded as bandwagon hopping normies if you believe Dark Souls' lore was ever obscure.
Here.
Make an argonian just to give n'wahs a pre-taste of what's coming to them
Why would you want to play has a slave ?
Meridia
Different mentality.
Jap games are easier to get into with there shallow world building since you can just jump in a "defeat the evil king" but this leads to problems with building a franchise since there is no substance behind the games.
There was a starfox thread about why the series has died when is essentially just starwars with animals which should be easy but this is due to jap developers being unable to world build with the characters and events provided so they resort to releasing starfox 64 again.
Argonian it is.
Genocidal revenge rampage roleplay.

probably worth watching.
yeh western fantasy is way too creative for me, I fucking love these hundreds of universes all rehashing the same handful of Tolkien concepts. Everytime someone comes up with their own OC version of dwarfs or elves I cum in my pants.
Isn't all of jrpg high fantasy though? Kinda more cringy too like Xenoblade.
>copy hinduism but insert Arthurian fables, Lovecraft, and Tolkien
There's. TES. Ironically TES is nowhere near the autism of Fate at this point because they keep retconning themselves and using dragon warps when Nasu going down the even lazier route kept all the Type-Moon shit intact.
>tfw no tsundere dunmer gf
>worldbuilding
fuck off to /tg/, only autists care about this shit.
Name 5 of the best western RPGs of all time.
My bet would be no tabletop RPF influence
if only young scrolls would leave out that stupid wall-breaking gucci bling shit and work with in-game lore only.
idk and idc I'm not a weeb and i don't play weeb games. Doesn't save western fantasy from being cringe.
worldbuilding and lore in the souls games is good, although those games are effectively westaboo, and their focus on lore is just an extension of that.
I think that's true.
Western games tend to focus much more on the world and lore, while Japanese games tend to focus more on the characters.
user, JRPGs are filled with Tolkien style creatures. Look at their elves and dwarves.
t. pussyboi
Dude I love CRPGs but TES is fucking awful. Morrowind is the only even tolerable game.
Elder Scrolls also makes shit up as it goes along. I think there was a staff who likened the lore to a bowl of spaghetti.
Literally the only WRPG setting with anything resembling kino lore is The Elder Scrolls, and they've ignored all the cool parts in every game since Morrowind.
>user, JRPGs are filled with Tolkien style creatures.
I said I'm not a weeb you illiterate fuck.
Should i stop dumping? It doesn't seem to lead to any discussion really
high fantasies without any OC races exist user
That's not really true. Most Japanese games just dump the lore elsewhere instead of making everything about it. That's why you end up with every publisher releasing massive dataguides for their games in Japan.
right, where the fuck is all this retconning that i see autists constantly whining about in eso? because i play it and can't think of a single egregious example.
Ahh yes I could see it from your ID.
First day on 4chins?
JRPGs tend to be more one and done, WRPG series are often set with an established universe roleplaying or literary universe with people who exist outside the game devlopment process to keep the lore in check or they have had their lore built up over multiple games in the same universe.
Yeah don't waste your energy, modern Yea Forums is fucking awful if it's not about outrage culture.
Planescape: Torment
Baldur's Gate 2
Fallout 2
can't think of two more.
Don't wanna say Morrowind because it had cut content out the ass and several other problems. Would like to say NWN2 Mask of the Betrayer but it's an expansion only and nobody likes the engine that much. so yeah.
the exact opposite is true. jrpgs have kino lore and worldbuilding, wrpgs just rip off dungeons & dragons or other tabletop games verbatim.
Nah keep going these images are comfy and blow the fuck out of autistic weebs.
Argonians
I never understood why Mehrunes Dagon's plain of Oblivion is just called "Oblivion". Every other prince gets a cool name for their little plane of existence, but not him.
>No Ultima game.
>No Wizardry.
Read the link posted here.
woah. I never noticed.
>cut content
And yet it still has one of the best stories and RPG worlds in the medium.
Also: Gothic, Ultima, Fable, SWKOTOR (never played it but people seem to love it)
When will weebs stop trying to force their embarrassingly shitty taste on everyone else? It's fucking cringe. Japanese games aren't fucking good.
Mehrunes Dagons plane of Oblivion is actually called the Deadlands. It's just generally called "Oblivion". Most people of Tamriel aren't that understanding of Daedra worshippers.
It's a narrator describing the item, not your character. Even then, these items that characters in Dark Souls find are often renowned. The need to identify a magic item in western RPGs is a holdover from tabletop games, as they needed a cohesive way to integrate telling a player what an item does, and the existence of cursed items necessitate taking the time to identify what an item does. Dark Souls doesn't want to do that. It knows what it is and what it wants to do, and the mechanics that would give them a reason to add a means to identify items are too cumbersome and out of place in the kind of game Dark Souls is.
What an awful tier list.
His plane of Oblivion is the Deadlands.
Peryite looks so out of place, it's cute
>Imperial City supposed to be the largest city in the world
>Imperial Harbour's supposed to house the Imperial Armada, the largest naval force on the planet
>it hosts 2 boats
>not even military boats
The only game that qualifies as good out of those is Fallout 2, and never ever pretend NWN2 and any of its expansions aren't total crap, especially the pathetic excuse of a self playing, 10 hour long campaign that is MoTB.
Getting mixed messages but i'll try to keep dumping. Anything special you want to see? It's mostly fanart but got some old screengrabs of lore posts as well.
I don't know them well enough. Do you?
I'm too casual for Wizardry games and never got into Ultima. I guess Wizardry 7 and 8 is up for a spot. That and Betrayal at Krondor perhaps.
Yeah buddy your Tumblr fanart is really cool. Post some actual Daedra, here is chad Hircine from ESO
Got any images of Dwarves?
Doh fair enough, did they ever mention it in Oblivion the game? Been over 10 years since I played it.
A small amount of fanart. Here you go.
when will westaboos fuck off to plebbit?
>ESO
Fuck outta here Hircine is only seen in Bloodmoon you nigger.
Because their reference is Dragon Quest.
i am so fucking sick of sheogorath and his sack of shit voice actor i can't even stand to look at this image. makes me hate the daedra quests.
I'm glad this picture exists.
I'm tired of slanted eyes jews turning everything into a voluptuous woman. I mean, it's nice when I'm horny, but I'm not horny all the time.
Sorry retard but ESO is still a canon game. Why do you think chad Hircine looks lame? You don’t, you just hate an elder scrolls game. Hircine looks like a fucking beta in Bloodmoon just like you do
Hermeaus Mora
>Doesn't care about anything except learning secrets and gaining knowledge

Post some Daedra shit next please.
Even if I weren't the original poster it wouldn't matter, read the posts and infer the essence of the argument at hand instead of assuming retarded shit. Or do you think all arguments on Yea Forums require a tripcode, or to re-iterate all points made in previous posts?
If so:
1. I'm not a weeb
2. western high fantasy is the cringiest shit
3. you are an illiterate fuck
faggot.
stop being a v/ caricature and post your own list then. I can't take you seriously like that anyway.
Everyone is ignoring my morrowind concept art thread so I’ll just dump here instead
Why are they all blue? Dwemer were an offshoot of the Altmer (or possibly one of their progenitors), they should be yellowish in tint. Dunmer only became blue/grey after Azura had cursed them for what ALMSIVI betrayed Nerevar and Dagoth at the Red Mountain. By that time the Dwemmies were long gone.
Daedric Faces
Can someone redpill me on Vaermina? Isn't she just all about "boo hoo bad dreams baby" or is there more to her? Anything to make her strong and fearful?
Living majority underground with no sunlight will make you pale. Also Dwarves aren't blue it's just the fanart, Morrowind ghosts are pale but not Snow Elf white.
Alright, i'll dump some daedra next.
Not sure, probably artists rendition. I vaguely remember there being dwemer ghosts in Morrowind but i cant recall if you could see their skin colour.
I love how Dwemer armor is supposed to just be the centurion and mech armor.
Most WRPGs have incredibly derivative and boring lore. And even if they didn't, lore is a weak substitute for a good plot, interesting characters, and, most importantly, good gameplay. Lore is little more than window dressing.
Alright on to some daedras
Mass Effect is one of the best WRPGs of all time because it didn't have to fall on fantasy crutches like 99% of other WRPGs, even Fallout has Orcs
The Dwemer are pretty cool even though they're basically basement dwelling atheists
Its mentioned in a book that you can read, but otherwise the people who would know are daedra worshipers and scholars in the game.
It would seem unlikely that the blades, the legion, or the general population would know since daedra worship is frowned upon.
>the absolute state of Boethiah
Mass Effect isn't an rpg dumbass.
But TES lore is a mess that got retconned in each game of the series and got finally assblasted into oblivion with ESO.
I like how Malacath looks like an Orsimer and Boethiah a Dunmer
Boethia is a tranny
Boethiah is the only Daedric Prince that swaps sexes regularly.
Azura looks like a Dunmer too.
I think Vaermina and Mephala might be switched
No look at the Oblivion Shrine, Mephala wears a skull necklace.
It's because based Boethiah ate Malacath and shat him out
Probably Jyggalag.
More Tumblr fanart bullshit. I was about to talk shit on it but this one is actually much better than the OP. The Mephala is spot on with her Oblivion statue even though I prefer her looking like more of a spider daedra. Vaermina as an old lady and Namira the goth girl look fucking stupid though.
OwO mistuuh dedwicc pwincee UwU owh eess it pwincess TwT
Who's the dude that wears the Clavicus Vile mask?
Mephala changes depending on who she wants to seduce
I don’t think you’ve put more than 2 hours into a single Elder Scrolls game.
Didn't she stay female after getting dick from Sotha'Sil?
(you)
You know when i was 14 year old virgin i loved lotr and the hobbit
Now im 29 and i recently re read the fellowship of the ring and let me tell you that book it total (and i mean total) dated garbage.
what? most western rpg's are just rip off as a derivative of Tolkien.
the only wrpg with good world-building is mass effect.
ff xii took a big leap and creative ivalice which is the most original I've ever seen.
Why would he? They're all shit.
Probably some poor sucker he's made a deal with. He likes to trade souls.
Here's another one of Mephala looking more spider-like.
Malacath used to be Trinimac the altmer warrior-god so it makes sense that he would look like a corrupted mer/Grandaddy Orc. Boethia actually chooses to use that exact look but sometimes he prefers to be a girl or have horns. Pic is oblivion Boethia, I like the snake like statue from Skyrim more though.
I never understood why there were so many altars, let alone giant statues of daedric princess in the Imperial province. Virtually all daedra worship is outlawed in Cyrodil/the Empire. Do they just not give a fuck? Some of these statues weren't exactly hidden in the thick of the forests...
I've played my fair share from Daggerfall to Skyrim and a little bit of ESO. The games are charming, but the lore is a mess that gets changed with every new release. This is common knowledge, user.
Another one of Mephala
Allah
So why’re you in this thread looking through Elder Scrolls imagery and text? You like it or do you like being upset?
Because JRPGs are video games played for fun, not textbooks with homosexual social justice narratives.
Has literally anyone ever used Vaermina's staff in their playthroughs?
Anyone?
So besides Mephala and Meridia what other female Daedric Prince jad sex with a mortal and gave birth to a demi-prince?
Because Todd is retarded
It made more sense in Morrowind and Daggerfall
You have to remember that the spaces that the games take place in are much, much larger than perceived in game. Hiding in the middle of the forest or up on a mountain, worshipping a daedra is not exactly something that the state has time with during crisis like in Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim
What do you think Malacath would do if he walked in the room and saw this
Meridia didn’t fuck anyone if I recall correctly. Vivec had a romance with Molag Bal and had like ten children that Vi had to kill. Vivec also shoved his dickspear in Azura’s mouth so that counts right?
>"We have to cram in a fantasy version of Valhalla for our fantasy vikings, even if it fucks the rest of the cosmology"
>"Say no more"
But Meridia had a demi-prince that was "freed" from the Colored Rooms by getting unmade in the void right?
No one that i can think of. But Molag Bal raped a woman who gave birth to the first vampire, which is kind of semi-related at the very least.
>tfw no female boethiah art
>manface of the OP but has tits and Skyrim voice
That's kinda gross user.
ok............!!!!!!!!!!
Well Oblivion is retarded but in Morrowind the worship of Azura Bo and Mephala are very, very common as they are the three “Good Daedra” that helped set up their civilization. The others, especially the revenge obsessed Malacath, madness incarnate Sheogorath, and Mehrunes and Molag Bal are all very much illegal to worship and most shrines are hidden away or under siege by Ordinators. You can even walk into a battle between Sheo cultists and Ordinators up in Ald Daedroth, I think that’s the name of it.
Cute elves!
>Why is JRPG lore so barebones and WRPG lore so lush?
Because JRPG lore stems from a concept that some japs came up with in the middle of a board room like "What if this nigga was actually Satan but he lost his memory and God comes down to Earth as a big titty anime girl to climb a weird babel tower?" While WRPG lore stems from some nigga who already wrote a literal book about whatever world they're basing a game in. And both of these presentations have problems, though I would agree that JRPG's are weaker. Whereas in the case of a JRPG, you ask a question and the answer is "We didn't think about because why would it matter?" While in an WRPG you ask a question and there are 4 different answers to it, but you will never, EVER have this specific question addressed through actual gameplay or even in-game lore.
>WRPGs
He was an Ayleid king and he and his followers worshipped her, that’s why he’s a champion of hers and is immortal. Similar to how the other daedric lords will give you an artifact when you help them out
I see what you mean but all "afterlife-realms" would probably be in Aetherius unless you're trapped in the Soul-Cairn or you owe your soul to a daedric prince. We just haven't visited any other place in Aetherius yet. Maybe we'll be able to do the "Walkabout" in TES:VI.
Sovengarde is a place in Aetherius made by Lorkhan why are you being a nigger about this?
Yeah it's pretty shit but not quite as bad as Wabbajack or Ebony Mail (hey kids, who wants some heavy armour with sneaking bonuses?)
Redditor fanart shit aside, Sovngarde is meant to just be another section of Aetherius, similar to the Redguard’s afterlife that I can’t remember the name of. Waking Sands or something like that?
it does have good writing.
I'm out of daedra images now. Anything else you would like to see dumped? I got time
Rance lore is neat
To be fair, If you lived in Vvardenfell you'd probably consider Oblivion's Cyrodiil a jungle...
Do Lorkhan and the Divines next.
Give me pictures of Hans Fuckbeard, the man who built a whole town with nothing but his nuts.
Yeah my point was why do Nords, but not any other single race, get to go to a special spirit realm? If they included some sort of system where there are several "spirit realms" or whatever where you go when you strongly believe in such (or based on your actions in life), then I wouldn't mind, but it seems like they just crammed in Sovngard because no fantasy-viking-culture would be complete without it. It just feels blergh and fan-fiction like.
Vivec had sex with Molag Bal many times. Pureblood Vampires like Serana are created by a ritual involving being raped all night by Molag Bal. You can circumvent this by sacrificing thousands of souls to him like how Serana’s father Harkon did.
>there was never a Japanese Tolkien who was autistic concerning lore
I wouldn't call him Tolkien, but Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon's author has only published 29 volumes of his LN since 2008 most of which are the size of small encyclopedias, and you should read up on some of the shit he provided Sunrise when the anime was greenlight. There's thorough, and then there's his level.
Alright, i might dump some lore/speculation posts from here and /tg/ as well, like pic related.
>ritual demands you to be "raped"
>everyone attends the ritual willingly and knowing what's involved
Getting mixed messages here.
Was Nerevar really killed by being penetrated by Vehk's muatra ?
It was never 100% explained, by in-game or outside sources, and that's kinda the point of Morrowind's background story. Vivec even writes so himself in one of his books that nothing is to be believed and you should make up your own mind.
I think the fact is that you can be as kinky and as "Hit me daddy" as you want but Molag fucking Bal is gonna tear that shit up.
Yeah, i know what you mean, they kind of make it up as they go. Which is one of the things i hate with bethesda but i love about the lore. Because of the way they tell stories and use the unreliable narrator, everything is always up for debate. TES feels really open source because of it. Both for good and bad.
I’ve never seen this, pretty great cosplay desu especially Nerevar. Sotha Sil could use his pregnant belly with timebaby though
Why does no one go to planet Dibella?
Ok, i just realized i basically don't have any fanart of the Aedra.
Vivec says this but he then spells out FOUL MURDER in his final Lesson. He used poisoned incantations, Sotha Sil used poisoned robes and Almalexia brought poisoned candles. If you read in between the lines it’s clear that Vehk the mortal killed him and redid events as Vivec the god so that Nerevar died of his injuries instead.
>I know why it's a standard forest. it's so they can keep the jungle meme for Valenwood
Uh no, it was changed because the technology wasn't there yet, and the NetImmerse engine (the one Oblivion was based on) wasn't capable of rendering proper lush jungles. That, and Oblivion was the first big mainstream installment that came out for PS3/Xbox360 back in the day and they didn't wanna alienate newcomers to the series by having jungle romans and zombie elves running around. So they went for the less taxing and less "weird" standard Medieval European setting.
Oh she has plenty of followers dude. It's just that the Aedra are in coma after spending all their energy creating Mundus. We can't really visit them even though they're listening and hearing our prayers.
Right. He’s literally the Prince of Rape. I like ESO but I hate how it and the newer games try to pass him off as “prince of plots” instead of rape, like they’re tryna censor that and have him replace Bo instead.
>This is what scalies actually believe
youtube.com
>this is the dude who created the TES lore
Like i said, i have basically no fanart saved of the Aedra, i'll try to dump something else instead.
I find the mutated and corrupted ash vampires and ascended dreamers far more creepy than the le evil daedra. Dremora and Xivkyn clan lore is pretty cool though.
Yeah it's great.
Consoles were the worst thing to happen to the Elder Scrolls series.
You don't know shit about worldbuilding or lore.
Dragon Quest has some of the most consistently good world building in all of video games. It's subtle touches are incredible, lots of moments where characters reference knowing other characters, and other characters that reference small things about towns that impact on things you heard earlier.
Worldbuilding isn't about having some table somewhere that tells you the currency of whogivesafuck's conversion rate into "arbitrary game facilitating magic unified currency" it's about making a world feel alive. And you can write all the garbage lore you want, but it's not nearly as impactful as a character saying something vague, then another character later on making a reference that then connects those two people.
Anyway you're all nerds and Historiographic fantasy is the best, Shadow Hearts 2 is the best written script in RPGs. Fucking, fight me.
I want to ____ Sheogorath!
>only 3 female aedra
>everyone else is a bearded manfag
How am I supposed to worship all these feet when there's no sexy feet goddesses to worship?
M-Mommylexia...
Consoles are the only reason TES is still a thing.
I love TES lore but the whole "Dragonbreak" concept is so much fucking bullshit. It's literally the writers throwing their hands in the air and yelling "I give up" before moving on to the next game's story.
I agree, there was something about the sixth house bases in Morrowind that just felt off. I remember the stacked chairs and the coins arranged in patterns on the floor. Creepy as fuck for some reason.
Dibella is literally the god of sex you can fap all over her feet
Sure do love Dragon Quest lore, it’s totally not 100% rhymes puns and nothing else.
>Mara is the goddess of love!
>Dibella is also the goddess of love but also sex!
Mara mogged.
>to an extent Fallout
i like Fallout, but you're really reaching here.
It was more of an excuse to reconcile the like 6 different routes and endings of Daggerfall, and I wonder if they’ll do it again with the Skyrim Civil War
Honestly, i think it's a great way of canonizing all endings of a single game, like in daggerfall. It's just important that they don't keep using it as an excuse to get away with lazy writing.
I think it's cause JRPGS excel in general story telling, characters, and narrative structure. WRPGs excel in world building and lore. That's why most JRPGs are relatively memorable, whereas WRPGs tend to fade into obscurity except with hardcore fans.
That's cool. I was never sure what the hole or snout was supposed to represent, except "these guys are obviously evil deep one cultists".
For the C0DAfag.
Why have the C0DAfags latched onto Talos being three people?
Do they need to deCHIM Tiber without deCHIMing the lore or is there something from the fanfics that needs Talos to be three people?
i'm guessing you haven't played ESO since release.
I thought Dibella was the goddess of beauty?
>muh religion and god is evil
slap and past it to every jrpg ever,
I assume the face and voice would change if the chest does
> JRPGS excel in general story telling, characters, and narrative structure
> sword wielding faggot twink #320 goes off with his faggot, cookie cutter, zero personality friends to fight off a zero personality cookie cutter villain for the 3406th game of the series
> retards on Yea Forums type this kind of shit about it later because they spent 40000 hours playing that padded piece of shit and projected personalities onto the characters to stave off boredom
Just to add to my previous post they have used another dragonbrerak when the Marikhati Selective danced on the tower in order to remove an Anuic influence/part of Akatosh in order to make the imperial pantheon less mer-ish. Which i find really interesting.
The bells and tonal artifacts and chunks of flesh scattered around always creeped me out, same for the huge permanent Ash Statues. It’s interesting how they used the Camonna Tong as a foothold to come further out of Red Mountain, I just found an ash statue in Orvas Dren’s plantation.
Also I hate this card game but fuck it has some great art. Ascended Sleepers are terrifying and WHERE THE FUCK DO THEY DO WHEN THEY DIE
Do you have Ehlnofey art? Do we even know what they look like?
Otherwise Argonians
Of many things, like beauty, artistry, passionate love and "unbound love", Mara is more the wholesome goddess of Christian charity, altruistic or marital love. Dibella's "love" is more hedonistic in nature.
He's right though. You almost never remember the general polot in games like Elder Scrolls because it's incredibly convoluted. It's usually the fun little side quests that make them good WRPGs. JRPGs are just better more streamlined stories.
Dibella worshippers literally fuck all day. The Skyrim quest involving the Dibella girl who fucks every married man in Riften, the Dibella shrine with naked chicks in it in daggerfall. Dibella is beauty and sex while Mara is much more in line with traditional love and marriage. All Dibellan priests are women as well.
> You almost never remember the general polot in games like Elder Scrolls because it's incredibly convoluted
This is the most retarded thing I've heard. Weebs are getting more desperate to make JRPGs look good by the day.
That's very based though; it has a lot of charm to it, and being such a blank slate means that the worldbuilding that Yuji Hori focuses on is that much more important, small details, people from the same town referencing each other despite being on opposite ends of the game matter. They matter a lot. It's also where a lot of WRPGs fall down where the characters in a locale spend their dialogue mostly talking about the locale and maybe a couple of characters in that locale. Lore can, and very often does get in the way of worldbuilding.
This is terrifying when you think about it. The opening sounds of both Morrowind and Skyrim are the beats of the heart of the world, the Doom Drum itself.
Fire Emblem is fun but please stop spamming your shitty Tumblr meme edits all over the board, they aren’t funny (also golden deer is 100% fag)
Todd wanted the LOTRfag money around the time, so it happened.
People who take TES lore seriously beyond casual appreciation are retards.
I did. The Elsweyr extension is as trash as the rest from a lore stand point.
The weird snouts of Ascended Sleepers are used to play music, goes along with all the Tonal magic and power of Dagoth Ur. Those holes aren’t eyes.
the Marukhati Selective seems interesting.
They're like the man version of the thalmor but what does it mean when it said "the tower split into eight pieces and Time broke"?
I get the time broke part is a dragon break but what does the tower part mean?
Then why in daggerfall dibella temples have naked men and women?
Not your codafag you paranoid nutjob but Talos has always been Hjalti/Tiber, Zurin Arctus and Wulfharth. Play Daggerfall sometime bro it’s fun
>goes along with all the Tonal magic and power of Dagoth Ur. Those holes aren’t eyes.
Oh shiiiiiet never noticed that
The men are just there to fuck the women.
if you’re gonna stay here to bitch then at least post hilda tits
Memes aside, who's the strongest deadric prince?
Not into C0DA at all, the reasoning behind Talos being 3 people is just really interesting and the Arcturian Heresy is not necessarily the only truth behind Talos. It mainly has to do with the Enantimorph. I'll try to explain it.
The enantiomorph is a trinity of forces that occur all the time in TES universe. It's a struggle between the Thief, Warrior and Mage. In this trinity the Thief is the Rebel, the Warrior is the King and the Mage is the Observer. If there is a struggle when the Thief is trying to usurp the king and he succeeds, The Observer has the most important role in the Enantiomorph, being the only one who can differentiate between the Rebel and the King. This unique role usually leaves him maimed in some form or fashion because of the cosmic event.
Hjalti betrays Wulfharth to use his soul for the Mantella of Numidium and lures him into an ambush of his bodyguard. Wulfharth, however, defends himself and cries Arctus's heart from his chest. Finally, Hjalti's men are victorious, Wulfharth is dead, his soul trapped in the cloak, while Zurin Arctus also died. By this event, the combined soul of the three who assumed the cloak of Lorkhan and later became known as the god Talos.
Hol up, so this photo was just some weird art video by Kirkbride and not how Todd found him because he was drugged out of his mind?
Because they’re all fucking dude. Dibellan temple is like a religious brothel. You visit one in a sidequest in Skyrim but there are only women priests and they have you recruit a loli to be their new leader, which is uh kinda hot?
>I wonder if they’ll do it again with the Skyrim Civil War
I remember hearing that Imperial Victory is canon (muh status-quo)
jrpgs aren't as based on the dnd tradition which by extension is based on the large scale world building done by Tolkien and Robert e Howard.
dnd is about being free to be and do what you want in a reactive non linear environment full of stories, wrpgs generally attempt to strive toward this. jrpgs don't, they are primarily influenced by Wizardry and are not as directly descended from the dnd culture. jrpgs then are primarily influenced by anime/manga which tell linear narratives, so over time this is what story based jrpgs chose to emulate.
>That's why most JRPGs are relatively memorable, whereas WRPGs tend to fade into obscurity except with hardcore fans.
I believe you misdiagnose why this happens. wrpgs fade into obscurity among popular culture compared to some jrpgs because jrpgs dominated the console market thus had a far greater access to consumers.
just look at bethesda rpgs like skyrim/morrowind, the witcher, and bioware rpgs. they are HUGELY popular among normies and the general community simply because they're on consoles.
Daggerfall is the worst game ever made old timer.
Not worst TES game worst game ever.
Jyggachad, the lore even say so. He was so powerful in fact that Sheogorath and Nocturnal (and I think some other princes) had to team up just to lock him away for an entire kalpa.
Nocturnal is said to be the “Ur-Daedra” and possibly one of the most important/powerful/first, honestly we’re not really told more than that other than she’s important.
No Ehlnofey art, sorry. Have some argonians.
The Towers are cosmological pillars that hold Mundus together and keep it from collapsing into Oblivion/The Void. See pic related.
I find it interesting that both Hjalti and Vehk betrayed someone close to them to become gods, Talos and Vivec
Do you really believe everything you read on the internet? Especially on Yea Forums?
LITERALLY WHY
I keep hearing that and I just don't see why.
She doesn't command any super strong monsters, she doesn't control the elements, she doesn't have super powerful followers or cultists (except thieves, whoop-de-fuckin-doo), and she doesn't seem to be (meta)physically stronger than any of the other princes, but the game's lore keep shoving this bullshit propaganda that she's the strongest of them all and that every other deadra fears her. FUCKING WHY?
Yeah man, there are plenty more examples of the Enantiomorph if you just look for them.
So they just want it to fit into a pattern?Of all the points of contention they have decided this is one hill they are willing to die on.
Seems harmless enough of a reason so it is odd they fight so hard for it.
I always thought this was real until the music video user corrected me the other day. Someone must have put that on UESP years ago because when I check Kirkbride’s page on there now it’s not there anymore.
Kirkbride was still very much influenced by Hindu religion and metaphysics in his art and you can read about it when you search his name or “Merry Eyesore the Elk”
I like to believe he at the very least experimented with them though. Psychadelics really open the mind to that crazy I-Am-Me dreamer amaranth stuff
>there are females who played Morrowind
You can meet Talos himself in Morrowind after you beat the MQ, he tells you his name is Wulf and that the days of the Empire of Man are over and that something new must rise. This could mean anything for the next game but honestly Pete Hines will just forget cause he doesn’t give a shit, get ready for Game of Thrones: Daggerfall again because we don’t want to alienate our consumers by making a game in Elsweyr or god forbid even Hammerfell.
>the "white-gold tower"
>it's silver
More than that, a pretty one.
Sorry bro, I’m 22 and Oblivion was my first elder scrolls game and my favorites are Morrowind and Daggerfall. I answered your question about the lore. I am sorry that you can’t find fun in games that other people enjoy.
I don't know what you're trying to say but wouldn't it make sense that Tiber Septim, this great military leader who seemed to partake in all these great events at the same time were three different people, just that they all called themselves Tiber Septim?
When he eventually got what he wanted and ruled all of Tamriel he would want to get rid of the competition.
Matsuno games have interesting lore. Specifically Ivalice, where the world was once high-fantasy, but the world is losing its magic.
>white-gold
>is white
Seems normal.
No need to apologize.
Your shitty taste in games doesn't affect me at all.
Anything else i should dump after Argonians?
Holy shit so the dance separated the power of White Gold or Adamantine or whichever it was and that is why there are more towers now? I didn’t know that
Oh damn the whole Tribunal is if you think about it, Vivec being the thief, Alma the warrior and Sil the mage
I posted this as the OP in my concept art thread and it’s still one of my favs. It was my inspiration for my voodoo swamp pirate wizard who is now the telvanni archmagister
things like that in game are representations of what's actually there in lore
Well I mean everything about her is hidden and we know nothing aside from she influences events and things like luck. I think she has a covenant with Clavicus and another in that Summerset expansion, those three are the main antagonists and try to do something involving the Tower
Would your scenario make sense? Not in the slightest.
I was wondering why they fight so hard for it and not so much the merits of it. If it is as you say it is because it fits into a pattern seems odd but too each his own.
>jrpgs have kino lore and worldbuilding
like what?
>SWKOTOR
no need to include this. it's a great game and one of the better written Bioware titles, but they're still hacks who couldn't come up with anything more than aping the OT. now if you'd said KOTORII you'd be right.
No not exactly, they danced upon the hidden Tower in order to separate the influence of Auriel in Akatosh because they believed that merish belief had no real place in the Imperial pantheon and that Auriel should have as little power as possible.
There were plenty more Towers before this happened though, the Red tower (Red mountain) was created when Lorkhan was punished for tricking the other Aedra into creating Mundus. He plucked out Lorkhans heart and fastened it to his bow and fired it into the sky. Eventually it landed in Morrowind and created Vaardenfell along with the volcano.
So some towers have been there for far longer before the Marukhati Selective had the chance to do what they did. There's a really cool in game book from a khajiiti perspective on this. It's called "Where were you when the dragon broke": imperial-library.info
Not him but it’s not because it’s just a pattern, while it is true nearly everything in Elder Scrolls lore is a pattern of events reflecting another, they also draw very deeply from concepts and religious ideologies. The three people being one wasn’t shat out Bethesda’s ass, all of this is influenced by Kirkbride’s interest in Hindu mythology and metaphysics. If I remember correctly the dude has a degree in some religious study, that kind of stuff is interesting and we find it interesting. It is not wrong for a game to have confusing lore, games have unreliable narrators as plot devices all the time. Vivec is his very own unreliable narrator.
If she's so great then why can two bumbling argonians steal her all seeing eye in oblivion then?
Yeah. You could take it however far you want. In the game Skyrim, the empire is King, Skyrim is rebel and the dragonborn is the observer.
In Oblivion, Dagon is king, Martin is rebel and main character (HoK) is Observer, and so on.
Jyggy and Sheo are the same guy (until the Oblivion DLC)
You can't say, there's certainly a "top tier" of deadra gods but they all seem to be roughly equally as strong or influential. Also the lore seems to fluctuate about their power levels from source to source (I remember reading that Claviuc Vile was, in some weird way, the strongest one).
I love The Words of Clan Mother Ahnissi and it’s ties to Khajiit, Azurah, and scaling the world to reach the moons. Mixed Unit Tactics is another great Khajiit-relevant book.
I need to reread “Dragon Broke” cause it’s been a while
Cause they had the power of Rat Ragu with powdered deer penis.
Also cause oblivion’s lore sucks and they brought back all of morrowind’s lore with skyrim
>every planet is a god
So is Nirn also a god or something?
Vivec’s dialogue about dying and “waking up” repeatedly when you ask him about it in Morrowind is so interesting.
>It's nice never being dead, too. When I die in the world of time, then I'm completely asleep. I'm very much aware that all I have to do is choose to wake. And I'm alive again. Many times I have very deliberately tried to wait patiently, a very long, long time before choosing to wake up. And no matter how long it feels like I wait, it always appears, when I wake up, that no time has passed at all. That is the god place. The place out of time, where everything is always happening, all at once."
Khajiiti culture is honestly really interesting. I also feel like they've got such a collective way of thinking. Have you read the books by Gregory Keyes? They've got a short piece where two main characters encounter a khajiiti camp and need to take part in their ceremony while eating cake with moon sugar.
Hey Argonianbro, check out this cool vampire Khajiit art from the card game.
then what's your explanation on missing the fact that ESO dives into the lore, and the weird Morrowind-esque cosmic side of it no less, moreso than any other game since Morrowind while also remaining faithful to established lore? there may be things that don't quite add up with other games, but they're given in-game explanations as to why they don't add up that are precisely in line with established lore, a la the Dragonbreak for Daggerfall's endings/Cyrodiil's lack of jungle.>Your shitty taste in games doesn't affect me at all.
and your hostility towards that user would imply that it does, contrary to what you say.
Elder Scrolls lore isn't even that good, I'd rather an Endless Scrolls game, that series has some fucking lore. Morrowind is great, but it's entirely limited to Morrowind.
To be fair, XIII possibly had one of the best lores ever but the presentation of the game and all the hate boner it causes is enough for people to simply not give a damn about it.
Well if it isn't the entiomorph then why fight so hard for it.
I am just wondering the reason why. The only other thing they fight this hard over is when people start teasing them about Todd making Pelly not gay.
I understand why they fight for Pelly the Many Headed Talos less so.
>>Your shitty taste in games doesn't affect me at all.
>and your hostility towards that user would imply that it does, contrary to what you say.
was meant for
Why do Khajiits have to have this weird dumbass moon cycle biology shit? They were NEVER going to implement it in their game, so why bother with this "multi-form" bullshit in the first place. It just makes it inconsistent and messy desu.
Did Kirkbride come up with this?
>be you
>proud Nord warrior
>just died in honorable combat
>expecting to stomp Tsun and enter Sovngarde like a fucking G
>instead you're in a black void of despair
>you hear a voice
>"In order to ascent to your spirit home, you must subject yourself to the tender mercies of one Daedric Prince of your choosing."
>a.k.a. you have to let a god rape you
>who do you choose and why?
Guess you never played a SMT game or souls game.
Is that the Infernal City and the other one? Never actually read them but they seem interesting, especially in scenes like this
>They've got a short piece where two main characters encounter a khajiiti camp and need to take part in their ceremony while eating cake with moon sugar
We need more shit like this. Another cool Khajiit factoid, at the end of the Aldmeri campaign in ESO you help crown the next Mane. This involves going to the moon, can’t remember if it was Jone or Jode. You get there by inhaling so much moon sugar fumes that you visit the moon by hallucinating yourself there, as it is very much real to you both and so it becomes real.
Where's Jyggalag?
I like it, even though it means we can probably never have a main line game set in Elseweyr.
>Did Kirkbride come up with this
Not that i know of, no. The Khajiits looked different in Arena and Daggerfall and much more humanoid so it was probably a way of them "retconning" or changing that up.
Banned because the other princes fear him.
No, it explains why Khajiit look different in every game. They look like Elves in Arena and Daggerfall. The Elsweyr expansion in ESO has you meet and speak to Khajiit of all kinds, from the small mage Alfiq to the huge Panthar-raht and mounted battlecats.
His realm wouldn't disappear just because he's not around though, right?
I was just responding to a shitty user in a like mannerIf you act like a cunt you get treated like a cunt.
Don't white knight other anons here. They are big boys and can fight their own battles.
Meridia is the sexiest
Isn't his realm technically the shivering isles?
I legit thought that was Shel Silverstein.
Who are the soi race of tamriel?
The dragon
>it explains why Khajiit look different in every game
See, this is why retcons are fine, sometimes. It would've been fair enough if they had just handwaved it and said "look, just ignore their earlier designs" if it meant not having to come up with some convoluted concept.
not white knighting anyone at all, just saying you're a bit of a cunt yourself and your tone doesn't match your words.
Not him but you started this hostility by coming in all high and mighty “SUP CODAFAGS I HATE UR LORE HAHA “FANFICS” GET FUCKD NERDS”
Like, chill out dude.
>Is that the Infernal City and the other one?
Yeah, they're not very long but got some interesting lore in them. If you like reading, i'd advise you to get them. They shouldn't be that expensive. They have a ton of Argonian and Hist lore as well. I think the sleeping tree in Skyrim is even a reference to the books.
>as it is very much real to you both and so it becomes real.
Yeah that pretty much confirms the suspicions ive had about the khajiiti lunar base, many people suggested it was all based on a collective high. Very cool though. I love this universe so much.
Dagoth Ur is nowhere near as terrifying Shel Silverstein
Whichever one you're playing at the time.
Mara = waifu
Dibella = bimbo
Kynareth = ????
Hippie.
Married woman to Lorkhan and does the most for himanity than any other God.
>Tolkien
>WRPGi
Fuck off, you are literally comparing apples and potatoes. Tolkien has nothing to do with video games, video games have everything to do with Tolkien.
Khajiit went from elves with facepaint in arena to elves with tails in daggerfall to cats with retrograde digits in morrowind to just literal catpeople in oblivion. This is a fun way to explain lore inconsistencies while also building lore and background for a race that was just Bosmer-but-cats at first.
Here is a picture of the Mane back when they still wore the braids of every clan in Elsweyr.
A sneaky archer imperial
So Imperials are the cucks
Japanese developers don't see the value of hiring a "loremaster" to write 500 hours of reading that most players won't even read. They'd rather maintain a small team of essential staff to keep their budgets conservative.
The exception here is probably Dark Souls
I honestly think it's pretty cool and it's not like they've been ignoring the khajiiti lunar cycle since they've made it up. In ESO you meet all different kind of khajiit. In the time span between Oblivion and Skyrim, the void nights occurred, where both Secunda and Masser disappeared for years which caused massive panic in Elseweyr. When they eventually showed up again, the Aldmeri dominion took credit for it and brought Elseweyr in under their rule. Because of all this, i think the lore is still in capable hands honestly.
Mother-in-law
Don't forget Nier, which has an entire light novel add-on that details Kaine becoming friends with someone from her village and having such an emotional rush from that she ends up jerking off and cumming to it, and having him find her like that.
and jrpgs have that x2
Bags of poisonous TF hist juice
Yeah I need to get these books but I remember reading that the Sleeping Tree in Skyrim has something to do with the piece of Umbriel or Umbra or whatever it was corrupting it. Thought that was pretty cool
it kind of bugs me that you don't get to see other types of khajiit in skyrim, here's hoping they add some variety in ES6
I dunno but she gave you the breath of the Thu’um so she’s mommy in my books
I'm surprised that no one has tried to make an Eastern equivalent of Tolkien yet, there are plenty of genuine sources of interest from the old days.
I don't really care that most jrpgs use Western settings by the way. Seeing Japanese elves, fairies, knights, etc is funny and endearing.
Yeah sure love the retarded barbarian in leather armor and with an ugly lv1 looking axe beating the shit out of a Dragon-God or a Cosmic Deity despite having physical capabilites that are barely on par with modern bodybuilders.
It's truly the peak of cool and makes me feel the world is real and coherent.
Imperials are 100% cucks and this is coming from someone who played an imp first in skyrim. They’re also Jews cause their racial power is to find more gold
Wasn't the mane assassinated by unknown group before being taken under aldmeri dominion?
Like are the khajiit retarded?
>has something to do with the piece of Umbriel or Umbra or whatever it was corrupting it.
Exactly. The floating island which is known as Umbriel/The Forgotten City is a pocket of Clavicus Viles realm that has been separated and then transported to Tamriel. It also has something to do with Umbra but i won't spoil it for you :)
Do you get to the Cloud District very often? Oh what am I saying, of course you don't.
yes, it's so much better when it's lanky twinks and barely armored, big tittied bimbos banding together to do that instead.
I'll have you know there's no PUSSY.
I want to know whether the Void Nights caused stillborn khajiit infants and whether it was caused by the Thalmor or not. They definitely took the credit for them coming back.
I think it was orchestrated by the Thalmor because the Khajiit have always been the ones destined to realign the moons when they fall, if they straight up didn’t even know where they went then this was definitely not natural.
drink your onions and shut the fuck up
In what world does a JRPG have good gameplay. Any turn based game made by the west has more depth, controls better, have interesting mechanic that actually works, and have a good and consistent progression feeling than any shitty turn based JRPG ever. Even their action based ones are clunky. Though, I don't think any western game controls and feels smooth as fuck like Sekiro.
Blame the Redguard!
This is a big part of it, every FF game is its own universe basically so they end up shallower but the franchise covers a much wider breadth of experience than the typical WRPG franchise.
If the thalmor's main goal is to rip apart the threads of the fucking universe so they can all ascend into the godhood that they assume is their own to claim then I guess it's only logical that they did some bullshit to the moon.
Yeah, i remember seeing pic related before the release of the Elseweyr expansion. Just look at that little shit in the Turban. Adorable. Would love to see a merchant like that.
>Wasn't the mane assassinated
Not that i know of. I must have missed this even though google says that it was mentioned in the Gregory Keyes books. Maybe it's time for me to re-read them.
Imagine fucking your Alfiq wife and making her pregnant and then she gives birth to an entire Cathay-raht, absolutely obliterating her catpussy
They're leftovers from Daedra worshipping elf niggers who enslaved humanity thousands of years ago. The ones in Oblivion are just the ones they never bothered pulling down.
If the nature of debate offends your sensibilities may I suggest teslore on Redd*t to discuss TES.
They have a staff of moderators that will insure you a nice warm hugbox.
tldr
Quit being little bitches.
>that reply
So that's the average wrpgfag IQ uh.
They rule tamriel but sure call them cucks
>imagine fucking a house cat
No thanks
Hey, I know Skyrim is pretty bland but the other games are cool. Besides, all games are going to have problems between game mechanics and their ingame lore, literally every game does this. Explain how you see your hitpoints bro
Iron weapons unironically look way fucking superior to steel weapons or above in Skyrim. Most steel stuff is fine in of itself, but everything after just falls apart and becomes cartoony and silly.
right back at ya user, i'm just calling as i see it: you're a cunt. if you can't handle being told that despite willfully being a cunt, maybe you're the one that needs a safe space.
Don't look to be the victim all the time. That only assures you will always be one.
I would assume it would take som insane ammounts of power to make the moons disappear for years so my guess is that they had nothing to do with it, just that they took credit as soon as they came back, but what do i know? It could be some Thalmor fuckery.
>When you're winning a war but surrender anyways as a "tactical" decision that only gives the enemy plenty of time to systematically cripple you from the inside out
What?
Has anyone ever been to this guy's home? He doesn't even live in the city, he owns a shitty farm house outside Whiterun's walls. And it's really fucking shitty in there, too. I don't know why he keeps talking down to everyone when he's clearly worse off than half the city.
can't you read, motherfucker?
Redguards are based!
Honestly, that makes sense. Many of the shrines have Aylied structures close to them.
Trails has a pretty kino world going for it so far
Maybe it was the edgeman voidman flexing his fucking nutsack and accidentally the whole moons. I guess we'll never know until Skyrim 2.
>godhood
too bad the altmer don’t realize that their bodies and souls wouldn’t be able to survive what they want to cause, let alone transform back to godly spirits. the conflict of mer nihilistic religion and man/orc/dunmer seeing mortality as a testing ground instead is really cool
I know where I am and am fine with how things work here.
We seem to have some newfriends who are off put by salty language.
You’re in luck! ESO has alfiq bankers and merchants now,
You're both retards who haven't played enough games in either genre to be making generalizations.
You’re right, I completely forgot all the Cyrodiil shrines are Ayleid made
>I know where I am and am fine with how things work here.
then act like it and take the bantz instead of directing someone to reddit just for rightfully insulting you, you big baby
Nice. Is it worth playing though? I haven't played ESO at all.
He's compensating, obviously.
>guys please stop calling me mean :(
From what little I've played it I'd say that ESO is a more detailed Skyrim, which is better than it sounds, but less than you'd hope.
WRPGs aren't much better when every character name sounds like somebody having a stroke
nigga you're comparing pictures from fan-made doujins to official art from the warhammer team
why are dunmerfags in denial about their favorite race has been fucked beyond repair?
>better than it sounds, but less than you'd hope
Sounds like most TES games. I love the universe but the games disappoint me sometimes. I dont have any friends that are interested in TES, is it possible to play solo or easy to find other people to play with?
Your mileage may vary like most mmos and it’s really painful starting in Ebonheart Pact territory since it’s just reskinned Skyrim but Aldmeri story was cool starting in Auridon, the Summerset buffer island. I like to get dude weed lmao’d and play as my Khajiit that transforms into a white werewolf with wolf familiars and sprint around Valenwood devouring elves
I dont think anyone's in denial, it's just kind of their schtick. The Velothi people have been cursed since before they were even Dunmer.
>you big baby
Made me smile.
Nah, Elf-san Wants to Lose Weight really is just thicc fap bait. What I'm pissed off about is throwing Dungeon Meshi into the mix when it's literally the WRPG lore style example in all of that. Which just means that whoever made that image is a master ruseman who successfully fucking bamboozled me. Y'cunt.
>Elves
>warriors
Daily reminder the Ehlnofay gotten their teeth kicked in by the Wanderers (human progenitors)
Still got a shit ton of fanart left but i'm probably heading to bed.
From what I’ve seen the newer expansions are awesome like showing every single Khajiit type in esweyr, and the morrowind expansion is literally the most detailed recreation of Vvardenfell that I’ve seen. Most of the rest of the game depends on how much you like es lore and can stand mmo stuff. The best part though is that you can finally give your bosmer horns and antlers
yeah but that it has the same quantum morality bullshit that fire emblem three houses has
CHIM
From in game lore we learn it is the password to make the WGT use its awesome power to make the owner comfy.
Why does the OOG sources claim it is some sort of Zen knockoff?
What's that? Like, you're a cunt because of something you did in the future or something?
Molag Bal or Hermaeus Mora are the optimal choices, since practically speaking you would only worship a daedric prince for power-related reasons
Sounds cool. I might check it out if it's ever on sale. Thanks man.
Yeah I played through the entire MQ and Fighter’s and Mage’s Guilds solo. It’s essentially Skyrim combat but with added abilities and perks and shit, like being able to do AOE stuff with your bow instead of just stealtharchering. It keeps the whole elser scrolls openended gameplay with how you can use anything you want and can murder and pickpocket npcs in town and stuff
Here's some MK art of Kyne, Mara, and Dibella.

The problem is that it isn't that easy. Take that guy who was given permission to learn all the Elder Scrolls lore ever and just fucking died in Hermaeus's tentacle dimension or something. Worshiping Molag is only useful if you're gonna be fucking like a truck 24/7 'til you die.
Then Trinimac tried to stop Veloth and his followers from leaving Summerset and Boethiah showed up out of nowhere, ate Trini and used his stolen voice to tell everyone the secrets to the Walking Ways before shitting him right back out, cursing all of Trinimac’s followers to forever be revengeobsessed pigcucks. I still love Orcs though, six nipples and all
Cheers, i'll check it out. Might bump into eachother there. Take care dude.
imagine seething this much west cuck and spamming the same images and threads over and over again

Dude you are in every single elder scrolls thread trying to say that Chim is Zen when the two things are not related at all. Chim is hindu, Zen is asian, neither of them have anything to do with meaning the same thing at all. You come in to morrowind threads every fucking day to repeat this copypasta, it’s just bait at this point.
Why are Mongolians always depicted as disgusting barbaric pig-men like brutes? This art and the Warhammer Ogres are very Mongolian inspired.
>white-gold turns out to be literally just white gold
yes shocking
MOMMY MILKIES!!!!!!!!
If you have to watch 20 minute long youtube videos to know that then you have low iq
It's always the same people in these threads.
Lore anons
ESO shill anons
Shitpost anons
You know what I mean, wrpg tend to be extremely bland due to the west obsession with always having everything, even pure fantasy settings, have a full foot anchored in hard reality and the world as we know it. More than western I'd say it's a very amercian thing but whatever.
Though I'm not saying jrpg also don't tend to take it all the way to the other extreme, but it was a wrpg jerking thread and I, personally, from totally subjective pov, would prefer something that is ridiculous and stupid over something bland and boring.
>"Lefay"
>Danish guy
the majority of JRPGs are bland and boring too user, just in a different way. just stop playing shitty games, there are good examples from each
No I am saying CHIM is
from Morrowind: It is a secret syllable that means royalty
From Skyrim: Heimskr uses the phrase (Paraphrasing here) "I breathe now in royalty" to change Cyrodil from jungle to temperate forest.
From ESO: The White Gold Tower can alter reality and it was used to change it to jungle for the Eyelids.
You seem to be hung up on the zen thing for some reason when the point I am making is OOG CHIM has nothing to do with in game CHIM.
No fucking shit, it’s an ElderScrolls thread, you want us to talk about Zen? No because none of us know where you pulled zen out your ass from, we all know what zen is but no one has ever once said it was chim.
>Chim and Zen are not the same
Not him, but what the fuck ARE the differences? Also it's not literally called Chim right, whatever spiritual concept you're alluding to I mean
And You
Wow, Yea Forums includes shitposters and people who talk about video games?
Dang colour me CHIM m8
>illegal unless insane
That's pretty cool actually.
Zen is when you attain perfect understanding of the universe and become one with it.
CHIM on the other hand is...
>and I, personally, from totally subjective pov, would prefer something that is ridiculous and stupid over something bland and boring.
I think that’s why so many of us love the weird lore and environment of Morrowind and dunmeri culture and why we get so triggered over Tolkien-Cyrodiil
More Nerevar
Feels good to be an imperial
>all the lore
>none of it actually fucking matters in the game
Why even bother
Buddhist believe in enlightenment, i.e. perfect understanding of the universe
The whole "Zen" concept is just a super focused state of mind, less spiritual and more practical
It's been almost 8 years since their last TES game
...
>The distance from Morrowind to Oblivion 2 is the same as Skyrim to now
>Chim is hindu, Zen is asian
Hindu IS Asian though...
I'll take the left side thanks
Did you know that Ordinator’s masks are made from a cast of Nerevar’s face? It’s why you can see Nerevar’s face being cut off in Foul Murder
hey guys im here in the thread to talk about zen again whats up. morrowind? video games? wtf are those i only talk about Zen
I hate how people paint the tribunal as power hungry murderers.
Japan is focusing on making the actual game.
it's well-deserved.
>hehehehehe... steel work? smithing? nah fuck that shit, let's just use crusty BONES for our armours hehehe....
>wonder why plate-armoured Nords bash Dunmer's faces in and win every war
Japan is the king of style over substance.
They murdered their friend to gain what they believed to be the power to help their society. Vivec talks to you about whether or not the lives he took to save other lives were worth it and such if you ask him in his temple. He believes it was worth it, even if he regrets the suffering he caused.
what about the dread-father
What about the leaper-king?
Lore keeps people interested years after a game in the series comes out.
How come there aren't many atheist in TES? I would like a game where the people are going through an enlightenment. It feels like the people in Tamriel get more primitive with each game.
They look pretty evil to me
Zen monks are supposed to be able to levitate. It is a little more mystical than you claim.
Dwemer are the atheists. They believed in no god and decided to make their own mech-god. This was their sin and resulted in their erasure, and is part of Dagoth Ur’s plan.
I hate how people portray Mao Tse Tung as a power hungry murderer
Nips prefer convoluted nonsense narratives and weird cutesey characters over worldbuilding.
Mehrunes?
Probably has something to do with how they keep their ancestor’s bones inside their houses and worship their ancestors as guardians. The Ghostgate is made out of the remains of Dunmer.
If I removed Dagoths mask would it be painful?
because western writers spend more time on it and forget about making a fun game lmao
A Bonelord
His face behind the mask looks like a fucking bloody ass mouth so probably
>win every war
The Battle at Red Mountain would like to have a word with you. The day the strength of Man failed.
It failed so hard in fact that Jurgen Windcalled started changing Nord culture to stop abusing their Thuums so much. That's right, the Chimer fucked the Nords so hard that SELF-INFLICTED PUNISHMENT got introduced into their culture. Damn.
Morag Tong assassin. Watch out bros, he’s legal
Why did this guy never made a return in other TES games
Every game seems to feature zombies and skeletons but not them
I guess they got replaced by the Lich’s and shit which is kinda lame. They would’ve fit in nicely with all the necromancy stuff in oblivion, but I think Bonelords have more to do with dunmeri ancestor worship and how they have undead creatures guarding all of their tombs.
>institute legal executions and assassinations
>everyone gets stabbed and poisoned for political or petty personal reasons with no repercussions
>wonders why Dunmer can't govern themselves
You forgot to mention the part where the Chimer had the Dwemer army and their steampunk mechs and cyborgs helping them.
