Persona 4, favorite events and cast. Most of the non party member social links are ass though.

4 because nostalgia and chie

3 > 4 > 5

the best ones.

3 because Fuuka is in it!

Innocent Sin. I ended up dropping the entire series with 4 because it sucked that much.

Objectively 3. Subjectively 4.
I emulated P4 as my first purse owner and went in completely blind. Liked the atmosphere and day-to-day alot, but after playing the others I think 3 had a better story and OST.
5 could’ve been great if it didn’t shit the bed around the time you get Haru.

Same

I couldn't get into P2 even though the gameplay looked cool.

Was this pre-waifu shit by the way? No social link stuff?

P3 because of OST and story

1>3>2

I would rate 3 higher if the cat didn't keep forcing me to bed all the time.

Yep, SLs didn't become a thing until P3.
I need to go back and try giving P2 another shake, but jesus, I've been spoiled by press turn and the baby persona variant.

5, although the very last section of 3 is my favorite thing Hashino has ever done

Wow! People arent actually bring contrinarian on this board and shitting on 4. What the fuck is happening?

I was confused until I realised you were using the order in which the protagonists appear in the image.

Persona 3 my favorite cast and story the themes really resonate with me and they had the right idea about persona evolution being a story event instead of a slink award

5 came out so it's no longer edgy and contrarian to dislike it more than 3.

Even though I prefer 3, 4 had its good points as well. But comparing the 2 seems almost wrong because they're so tonally different.

P3P

100% agree, I liked the fact that they evolved on their own regardless of your involvement. Wish they would have done that for subsequent titles.

But people were shitting on 4 after P5 released. Like all the time. Like yesterday.... And the day before that.

Based

QUICK QUESTION do any of these games have a better ost than the first persona for psp? dont say 5, i was not impressed

It definitely stands out compared to other titles imo because it's a lot lighter. Feels like scooby doo and the gang solving mysteries. But that lighter tone probably made it more appealing to a general audience.

I also honestly had more fun in tartarus than I did in any of the p4 dungeons...

3

Played the psp version of 3 a few years ago and it fucking bored me to death. Should I try the ps2 one or do I just not like these games?

It shit the bed with Akechi as well

3 for the story and atmosphere. Everything felt depressing and you could feel the characters feeling scared and helpless which made them feel genuine and real.
The best persona game should be a mix of persona 3's story/atmosphere, persona 5's gameplay, and persona 4's character synergies and interactions.

Play Persona 3 FES if you're going to play any of them.

Don't listen to PFPfags, they're pining for an irrelevant femc that they're sperged about for years.

It’s probably not for you maybe you would like persona 5 since it’s starts quickly

5 honestly. The others just felt really weak and unpolished compared to 5. The story wasn't really good in any of them and the gameplay is all the same really so I don't really count that. I guess it was 5's "style." It just felt like a cool experience that 3 or 4 didn't really have.

Hopefully in Persona 6 but I don't know, with the director going I'm curious as to what direction the new one will go in.

It seems the worse the story has got the more popular it's been though so I doubt they'll go back to story of 3 to be honest. But atmosphere of 3 with aesthetics of 5 would be great.

5 for gameplay, 4 for chill time, 2 for story, 3 for atmosphere, there is nothing I can say that was good about 1 other than being a proof of concept.

Everything post-haru was bed-shitting. I noticed the pancakes right away and was pretty disappointed in how he went out (“oh btw the main villain is my father! and i need revenge! and now i’ll die).
I also hated that you don’t even see the main antagonist get punishment, it’s just told at you. And the final godlike entity boss was underwhelming.

Mark kek

5 was style over substance really.

>Don't listen to PFPfags, they're pining for an irrelevant femc that they're sperged about for years.
She's a main character in Q2, which is recent. But I still agree that FES is better.

>she the main character in q2
She’s not the MC but she does have a lot of spotlight never played her route but she was cute

I hope The Royal actually does something with Akechi but unfortunately I doubt it.

I honestly thought Akechi was so obvious as the villain that I rolled my eyes at the reveal.

The first part of the game was good with Kamoshida.

Apart from that the rest wasn't much to write home about. Maybe the first part just set a high bar.

After 8 years of whining kek. That's really the only reason people even played P3P. The portable version cut out a lot of interesting visuals.

Shame because I do think Persona is good as a handheld title. I loved playing P4Golden on my vita.

Wish they would have done P3 for Vita.

I didn't say she's THE main character, just that she's a big one. She's the first one of the P3 cast the Phantom Thieves encounter and everyone helps her to become friends with the main timeline cast who don't know her. She's practically an honorary Phantom Thief by then.

P4 honestly made me feel like I was in an anime and like I had friends. Maybe that's why people responded more to P4.

P3 felt more realistic character wise.

What's with that anyway?
The beginning of the game hints the traitor is going to be a mystery. Then they make Akechi obvious as fuck. Who thought that was a good idea?
Atlus was being cheeky as fuck thinking people were going to think he's a red herring and feel surprised when it turns out to be him. Don't fuck with me and say they weren't thinking this.

I’m not even going to get Royal until its cheap honestly. Base P5 left an awful taste in my mouth by the end.
I liked most of the dungeons, but the stories around them were usually pretty bad after Kamoshida.

Also, Morgana is by far the worst mascot character in the series. Probably the worst “good” character as well.

Maybe, but 3 or 4 didn't really have that much substance either imo. All the games are unrelated side stories around a "bigger" story that were never too interesting to me. 4 probably did have the best story, but the villian was way too obvious halfway through and it had a basic detective story (which 5 did too) and 3 was average at best. That's why I don't count the story for anything.

All else equal I think everyone's favorite P game is whichever their favorite character are in.

It was extremely obvious. They needed to add more side characters to the story. It obviously wasn't any of the social links (talking about vanilla here) since you can skip them and the only recurring characters were him, Dojima, and Junes girl. Honestly a little pathetic that no one said anything or they didn't think of it while they were developing the game.

Attached: 1565480981738.jpg (516x729, 80K)

3 is my favorite. I enjoyed the characters and plot the most, and I think it tackles its themes the best. 4 is really fucking good though, easily one of the comfiest games of all time and has my favorite atmosphere and ost out of all three games. 5 is just ok. I really like the idea behind being a phantom thief, and it makes for some really satisfying moments and stylish imagery, but I didn't vibe with most of the characters and the overall plot kept getting less interesting the more it went on. Which is a shame because being a rebel of society heart-thief is such a great concept but it feels wasted. Still a really fun game with awesome presentation, good music, and more fluid gameplay. I also like how much there is to do and see activity wise. Feels really fleshed out on side stuff which is great.

>Dojima and Junes girl
where do you think you are right now
I thought Adachi was fairly well hidden. Not enough that you’d never guess it, but enough it made sense if you thought about it.

Agreed, none of them are quite so substantial that they do their themes justice really. A lot of surface level, amateur stuff. If I wanted more meat I'd pick up a book. It's probably fine, even if it's mostly a game that relies on its narrative.

Did you honestly think Adachi was obvious though? I never caught on until the reveal.

I think my main gripe was the whole
"Student by Day"
"Phantom Thief by Night"

However, all the cast fucking talks about and their whole personality revolves around the phantom thieves. They won't fucking stop circlejerking that the fact that they're phantom thieves and it really took me out of the experience.

There's no smart heist planning as well. Almost all of the targets was a get in and get out scenario. They did some cool stuff in Madarame's dungeons but I was hoping for more real world activities affecting the other world.

All them are pretty good
3 is my personal favourite

Attached: 1565310684120.jpg (872x800, 95K)

The real twist is not that Akechi was the traitor but that the cast was playing him the whole time.

Except for 3, I've always found the other S links to be more interesting than the main party. The fact I had to slog through Yusuke's shit in 4 to get his ult persona bored me to tears.

For some reason, I remember that not being much of a twist either since I pretty much figured it must be obvious.

Oh my fucking god.
Come on, can you honestly say that Atlus wasn't being cheeky with that shit? DURRR ITS NOT A TWIST

SHUT THE FUCK UP P5FAG

5 > 4G > 4 > P3P > 3FES > P2:IS (PSP) > P1 PSP > P2:EP (PS1)

Attached: 1544475251091.png (1437x1289, 1.95M)

Cool down, autismo. Nobody said it was a GOOD twist.

Well to me and many others it was extremely obvious. Who else could it have been? Not the social link guys, not your party. They had to display the culprit enough so you knew who they were and it made an impact on you when it was revealed. It's like any mystery movie/scooby doo episode. You always look at all the side characters and ask who did it. The game only gave you a tiny handful of side characters that had the possibility of doing it (only one other one I thought it could have been would be Dojima which would have made it much better imo)

I agree, I honestly think Atlus just lost steam and phoned it in towards the end. They knew people would buy it anyway.

>Sperging out like this
Cringe

You're the nigger saying it wasn't a twist.

Yikes

Agreed, I thought Dojima would have been a better culprit honestly.

Imagine Nanako not only having her Mum die but finding out her detective Dad is actually a serial killer.

Would have been a gut punch.

But at least we could look after her and stay in Inaba.

>Posting images for ants.

Attached: 1549557189402.png (1920x1080, 2.12M)

We were having a good thread. Stop shitting it up.

I wish they had the balls to do that. It was even set up pretty well. Dojima was never home and was always "working" on the cases.

He literally said that the PTs knowing about Akechi was the twist, can you read

Autismo Prime strikes again. It was a twist in that it was expected you wouldn’t know it until it happened, but anyone paying a modicum of attention noticed it. It doesn’t have to be well done to qualify as a twist.

Also yikes, cringe, based, redpilled, blackpilled, foid, chad, and stacy. Just to put all the buzzwords on the table.

>Atlus had a twist making Akechi the traitor by presenting him as a red herring
>DURR THATS NOT THE TWIST
>NO ITS A FUCKING TWIST THEY MADE HIM INTO A RED HERRING
>Nobody said it's a good twist

Maybe you're the one who can't read FUCKING RETARD

Good save user

4. Only tastless retards think otherwise

Okay you retard. Which twist are we talking about.

I'm talking about Akechi as a red herring.
I assume you're talking about PT knowing Akechi was the traitor.

Let's be on the same fucking page.

Lol objectively. You have no authority to say anything objectively little bitch

>Which one is the best thread
>Turns out it's P5 hate/shitposting thread
Not surprised

4 Golden. I liked the lighter tone, cast, and music more. That said they're all amazing games

Attached: title34.jpg (1920x1080, 297K)

>user is retarded
Not surprised

Akechi being a red herring wasn’t a fucking twist because it never happened. He could hear mention of pancakes, and from that point on he was the only one it could be.
Do you know what a red herring is? Also why are you resorting to all cap faggotry?

Yeah, P5 was style over substance and a wothless piece of shit game that made me ashamed I was ever a persona fan. But I'm glad this retarded nigger liked it.

So you're saying Akechi wasn't hinted at all to be the traitor huh?

I would take good style and mediocre story over mediocre style and mediocre story anyday :^)

>Eternal Punishment is busted on Vita and the camera doesn't work right
Good thing I shilled out for a PSTV, but grinding on the go would have been nice.

Why didn't we get the PSP version again?

Attached: 1556683084404.png (5100x6414, 3.1M)

4 because I feel like its the most well balanced between having not bad gameplay and a good story/cast plus the atmosphere is godlike

Ok, last reply because i’m losing braincells by the second (If you’ve been baiting me, I’ll concede it was well done).

Akechi was hinted to be the traitor when he mentioned pancakes. I imagine most people noticed right away and outed him as the traitor, but the game never mentioned it again until he was revealed. Therefore it wasn’t shoved in your face and can still be called a hint, even though it was an obvious one. He wasn’t a red herring because hints of him being a traitor were accurate.
Now please go and reciprocate with a loving partner.

what's a good order to play these games? in release date order?

3 for story
4 for atmosphere
5 for style

Hmmmm. Let's see
>Missing from the Opening
>Missing from the Box Art
>Only dude against the Phantom Thieves
>Pancakes
>"Own Motives during Sae's dungeon"
>Shifty during the whole game
>Detective like Adachi

Hmmmm hmmmm who could the traitor be???????? It can't obviously be this dude the game is pushing him to obviously be him. OH IT WAS HIM! WOW EPIC ATLUS YOU DID IT AGAIN XD

My favourite is Persona 4, loved the characters and their interactions.

I'll divide the games into a few categories:

Characters 4>5>3
Gameplay 5>3>4
Story 3>4>5

1 and 2 are largely their own thing. 3, 4, and 5 are loosely connected. For 3, play either the updated release FES or Portable if you want to play as a girl. For 4, either regular or Golden is fine. For 5, either play the regular or wait for Royal.

Don’t samefag

>Liking Persona 5 past Futaba
Ew

Can you please exit the thread?

Please stop samefagging

I started with 5 in 2017. I played 3 then 4 after.
For me, it's 3. It hit me a lot harder and I really liked how they grew to like each other after the shaky start of people being forced, by their circumstances to work together. Second is 5 because of the style, music and being all in all a great package. The second middle half was a bit shaky but if you stay through, it goes back to being decent. Last is 4.
All in all, 3 > 5 > 4. I can see why people hold 3 in such high regard, as a newfag who started with 5.

Attached: lull.jpg (1861x3406, 732K)

Everyone on Yea Forumseddit is a bot except you.

EP's my favourite in the series but if you're just talking these 3 games then it's a close tie between 3 and 5 for me but 3's story and it's characters push it slightly above. 3's party isn't always sucking your dick and they fall out with each other numerous times throughout the story which makes the journey worth it just to see them make those steps to come together again and push forward. That last month in 3 is literally the most kino part of any Persona game.

Agree, although the final scene for p5 with Satanael putting a bullet through Yalbadoth's head I found pretty kino.

Fuuka is so cute! I love her!

Attached: Fuuka's Love.gif (414x370, 1.22M)

Persona 5 has the worst main cast and shits so much after and even during Sae it's not even funny.

Dunno how you guys liked it.

O'm glad the honeymoon period with P5 is over and everyone can admit it was actually shit lol
Will I still get dogpiled if I say the music was boring as fuck and the singer was shit?

3 because of the atmosphere, OST, MC, themes and plot.
As others have pointed out, the fact that your team mates didn't suck up to you immediately and, in cases of Junpei, wanted to be the MC instead feels really realistic.
5 has a weak main cast and 4 has too much happy-go-lucky feelings. Still all amazing games in their own regard

Attached: 1520039208719.jpg (2560x1600, 1.54M)

>P3 has best story
>P4 has best friendships and Chie
>P5 has most best girls
When it comes to music I like each game's music a lot. P5 has my favorite single track out of all the games tho. youtube.com/watch?v=MnHqMeGR-rE

Better than 4

4>3>5>2>1

I agree. Can't wait for Royal edition, I hope they will fix super shit pacing

They won't.
