There is a mod for this.

I've actually been replaying it for a week or so now. I never had Anomen in my party, and god now I know why, he's a fucking tryhard söyboy.

I wanted to play Baldur's Gate II but the first level is the only part I could stomach. Just wandering around the city outside of the first dungeon you are absolutely beset upon by encounters, relentlessly. It's ridiculous.

who dat

There are a lot of words on that image I don't even know what they mean.

Persona 4 and 5 are massive offenders. Even during your first playthrough, the start "plays" like a VN. And not even in the way people mock modern Persona games for, you more or less walk from one linear corridor to another, with 5 to 10 minute cutscenes in between, lasting for the first 4 to 5 hours. Once everything really unlocks and you get control over how you can spend your time, it's like that for the next 40-60 hours, so the start being so long kinda seems like a small issue. But on replays it's such a fucking slog sometimes.

Here's hoping P5 Royal has something to get through tutorial bits a bit faster. Because not only will I have replayed it multiple times now, but I will have to be patient in case some new content is sprinkled in between the hours of prologue.

It's kinda sad that it's not even far off from the LGBT shit they added in the remaster/new campaign...

>There are some things on the chopping block, however. It's an interpretation of D&D, specifically 5th Edition, because porting the core rules, which Larian tried to do, doesn't work. Or it works, Vincke clarifies, but it's no fun at all. One of the culprits is missing when you're trying to hit an enemy, and while the combat system has yet to be revealed, you can at least look forward to being able to smack people more consistently.

>"You miss a lot in D&D—if the dice are bad, you miss," he says. "That doesn't work well in a videogame. If I do that, you're going to review it and say it's shit. Our approach has been implementing it as pure as we can, and then just seeing what works and what doesn't. Stuff that doesn't work, we start adapting until it does."

It will be probably the Fallout 3 of the BG series. The target audience is that since rpg isometric games are niche while 3rd person games are way more successful. They will probably try to make a sort of skyrim/witcher 3 type of game.

since the goddman first 3.0 book
it is the best version, if you have problem with numbers blame your brain
5ed was made to be quantity over quality, its a washed version of the game with bare bones rules (and terrible covers) of a proper strategy build game in order to pander to the mass. Less thinking = more people playing = more money. Quantity>quality. Any doubt consult Mike Mearls, Jeremy Crowford and Chris Perkins Tweet feed

I completed the saga on ironman insane with SCS with vanilla unedited npcs, I'm beyond that point.
If I wanted to 'cheat' I would just create a minmaxed munchkin party or play IWD. Playing around with classes is for fun, the latest version of SCS even comes with a fully revised leveling system and class changing script for all companions.

>linear bad
Spellhold and the underdark are the best parts of the game, pleb.

maybe the first time through, but the best part of the game is roaming around doing sidequests in chapter 2/3. you do spellhold once you're annoyed at not having access to the upgraded adventurers mart. it's a chore imo

IWD barely even had a story beyond "there is this guy summoning demons and YOU gotta stop him". There are barely any side quests, and those that it has have little development beyond clearing out rooms of samey mooks with fireballs and turn undead.

Don't mention the opening of doors.

and it was still better than baldur's gate lol

iwd story is "hey remember all these names of characters and places from the drizzt books?"

i love both equally but the music and portraits are infinitely better in bg1

Thoughts on Pathfinder:Kingmaker?

nigger poop

With SCS, spellhold is the most interesting dungeon in the game (no equipment). I only get there once I've cleared all the content and dungeons in athkatla and around. The underdark is the sweet spot where your entire party has their HLAs, late blooming classes like mage/thief, and cleric/mage start really blossoming into their full potential, intermediate ones like druids reach their full potential, all the dungeons in the area are amazing, the ust-natha massacre does feel like a fucking genocide, etc.
There is really nothing that compares to this feeling in chapters 2-3, and I love chapters 2-3 to death.
But this frantic rush from spellhold to the escape out of the underdark is the best part of the game. And I've finished the trilogy more times than I can count, so this has nothing to do with first time playing it.

i only just played through scs for the first time recently. loved it at first, HATED it by the end of ToB, every single fight (since it adds yuanti mages to everything) is using the same spells over and over, breach or ruby ray and true sight etc, it's not bad it's just repetitive. i feel like mage duels should be a more rare thing, but scs makes it seem like every trashy party has a hugely successful arcane spellcaster. i think next time i play i'm gonna play with the SCS improved ai/improved mages/clerics stuff, but without improved encounters. yes it will be easy but i'll have more fun with it

terrible taste but not surprised, this is Yea Forums after all. Obviously real rating is

PST > BG2 > BG1 > IWD > IWD2

>rating PST above the Baldur's Gate games
go fucking play a vn lmao
rpgcodex retard

It's actually not that repetitive if you figure out how dispelling sequences work, remove magic is your bread and butter for most of the game, and late game ToB can be discouraging at first, but there's actually nothing that improved alacrity, secret word, spells trike and breach won't dispel completely in less than half a round. I remember using a lot more dispelling spells on my first playthrough than in the following ones, you learn to streamline your shit eventually, there aren't actually that many mages who put up a full buff sequence requiring several antimagic attacks before being able to breach or dispel them. All of them will have SI:A in ToB, but not that many will have spell shield. And if no spell shield, they lose everything with spellstrike + breach (and if spell shield, just add secret word). Also, dispel and remove magic from inquisitor or bards will hit really hard, and won't force you to always use true sight (pretty handy if your main dispelling mage is a certain red conjurer). And never forget that the staff of the magi will go through anything except protection from magic weapons. Which will be eventually go down, or you can force it down with a double time stop for example. There are a lot of ways to dispel in the end, not forced to rely too much on secret word/ruby ray/breach. I've always played with Ascension as well, which makes all of ToB pretty fucking tough, but not repetitive I found. The final fight with both SCS and Ascension is insane.

lol no

Chris Avellone is supporting queers in games these days.

And yeah, everything that doesn't have a SI:A (so all the yuan ti mages for example) will get smashed with remove magic. And it's aoe too. Either stock 3 in a sequencer or get a bard or Haer Dalis. Since they level up a lot faster and higher than mages, their remove magic will be much more potent and work basically everytime.

I don't care go back to /pol/

Attached: v pol.png (540x485, 102K)

Why dont you just start a "multiplayer" session and make a save outside the dungeon? Then all you have to do is make sure your gear is stored in another character/container and you can start up new games without doing it.

Well how about an ordinary 'I don't care' instead?

He becomes great if you prevent him from being edgy. It's actually a neat bit of character building from arrogant asshole to humble nobility.

PST is a meme

It's not a meme though, it's a 40+ hour game with a lot of work put into it. A game that many people have played and enjoyed. How that translates to "meme" I don't understand.

In BG2 oddly enough the evil characters are all the most interesting, fun, and memorable.

Edwin + Korgain + Viconia + Sarevok is one of the strongest parties you could have.
