With borderlands, outer worlds, and others coming around the corner and cyberpunk coming soon I believe its about time to ditch my old faithful 1060 for either 2080, 2070s, or rx 5700 xt, (or 2080 ti if it's actually worth the price) so which one is better?
Upgrade time
Video cards are all trash right now
Maybe the 5700 XT but you'll probably be disappointed by anything
2070 is best bang for buck out of those shitty choices but the new Gen isn't really much better than the last Gen. It's relatively OK value, but not as an upgrade from your 1060.
Unless you just have a burning, itching, sexual desire for Ray tracing.
>Gaytracing
Just go for a Sapphire 5700xt
It's all console trash, stop falling for the shills and keep your 1060 you don't need more.
this
I would wait for the 5800 XT or 5900.
If I can get 2080 S performance for less than $600 I'll take it.
1060 is fine for those upcoming games at 1080p
1080p60 mixed settings 580
1080p60 ultra 5700XT
1080p144 ultra 2060S or 2070S
1440p60 ultra 2070S
1440p144 ultra 2070S cutting it close, 2080S better
4k60 ultra 2080S cutting it close, 2080Ti better
I'm upgrading my seven year old MoBo, CPU and RAM soon. I got gifted a 1060 a few years back and that is doing me fine. You might need to upgrade for 2021 when the new consoles come out and games jump up in quality and drop in optimization.
I recently bought a 2060 super because I got a good deal for it.
Retard that I am, I now have to upgrade my r5 2600x
do you mean the normal 2080 or the super?
because there is like only an average 3% performance difference between the normal 2080 and the super 2070 depending on the game
The 5700 XT generally performs as good or slightly better than the 2060S and 2070. Even the standard 5700 is almost always better than the 2060.
Nobody should ever buy a 2080 Ti
My list is written for a brute force/worst case scenario purpose. In a roughly okay optimized game you're going to see much better performance than in my examples.
>just wait for 7nm
>just wait for navi
>just wait for high end navi
2019 in a nutshell
I'm saying you're stupid to recommend a 2060 super as a higher performance class than a 5700 XT. They're even at worst.
You also shouldn't be buying a 2070 Super for 1080p for any reason.
>im too lazy to look up benchmarks, please do it for me
no
>borderlands
low quality graphics with shaders to make up for it. You don't need a super powerful card for it
>outer worlds
unironically looks worse than most indie games graphically, don't expect a big requirement
>GTA2077
Might need a decent card for this.
It's all on case by case basis tho. The 5700XT sits roughly 5% above a 2060S and 5% below a 2070S, in some games on par. A 5700XT AIB that doesn't sound like a jet engine and isn't running at 85-110(junction but still) will cost you 450 or more, not worth the 50 dollar less than a founders 2070S.
>don't expect a big requirement
Heh....
>there are retards who honestly believe this
a v56 runs 1440p @ 144hz ultra.
Whatever AMD is offering. Don't fall for Nividia's jew tricks. Based mommy already slayed one kike front company this year so do your part to help her finish the job.
>With borderlands, outer worlds, and others coming around the corner and cyberpunk coming soon
>all EPIC games
biggest cringe of all time
None of those games requires a stronger card, maybe cyberpunk for higher settings
