Reading through episode 4 of Umineko and god damn this is getting to be a slog. Why did they think writing a huge section of the story exclusively about the most annoying characters was a good idea? When is Ange and Maria's Bizarre Tulpa Adventure going to end so I can get back to the fun murder mystery part?

Welcome to the rest of the story.
About 2/3rds of the way through.
Just drop it at the end of 4.
That part is very fucking long, basically most of chapter 4.
I thought those scenes were a slog too but I really liked the end to Ep 4.
>get back to the fun murder mystery
oh no no no no
Episode 4 is probably the lowest point of the story.
Just finish 4 then drop it. You can figure out what really happened purely from the first 4 episodes anyway. The rest are fanservice and filler for brainlets who didn't get it.
You called?
BATTLER IS GAAAAAAAAAY
how much longer is it from the part where Ange brings back Sakutarou and talks to her tulpas on the boat?
but I already bought both parts
I want to fuck Ange
Chapter 5 has Erika
For that reason alone it is worth reading
based
part 4 has an okay ending, parts 5 and 6 are god tier. part 7 is hit or miss, part 8 you will either love or despise depending on your opinion about magic
What was her problem?
Continue reading until the end and judge the story for yourself. Although you should attempt to crack the mystery because by the end of chapter 4 you should have all the clues you need to solve the mystery.
Despite being a detective, her theories couldn't hold water.

The second half of episode 4 is incredible and well worth the wait.
Gentlemen, I've come to post the true culprit.
look, I don't have a foot fetish or anything but I have cranked my hog to that picture of Erika at least four dozen times if not more. The idea of her looking all smug at me while I slide my dick between her pantyhose clad feet and the cold unforgiving hardness of the inner sole of those shoes. I don't even care if it wouldn't feel good and would actually be uncomfortable. I just really, REALLY want her to slightly slip her feet out of those shoes to create a small space for me to rub my dick, preferably while she verbally berates me. I swear I didn't have a foot fetish before seeing that image, It's just too good.

ange is by far one of the best characters
right after lambdadelta
only the odd episodes are good. the even episodes are fucking terrible
Remember user:
If she's not top five.
You won't be left alive.
Nice even post number.
Kinzo did nothing wrong.
pantyhose is the only way to find atractive the woman's feet. if you want to someone want touch you with a naked feet, you are a repulsive degenerate
Episode 8 is the best episode. The others are also great.
Kinzo absolutely did everything wrong, at every single possibility, at every single point where he could have done better. It is only because of his repeated, beyond retarded decisions that anything came to pass as it did.
Still best boy.
to be honest, he massively got enabled by genji. without him he most likely would have had to stop after a few repeated "mistakes"
I don't think its repulsive, it's just that pantyhose is such a vastly superior alternative.
Wrong!
Episode 5 is the best so keep going
>episode 5 was Ryu's reaction to all the criticism of 4 and of those who wanted their "fun murder mystery"
>those same people loved it and used the character personifying just solving he mystery to shitpost
I suppose it turned out alright in the end since they hated the last two episodes anyway

>people saying to drop it after 4
Are you fucking retarded? 5 is the best case in the series, and 6 is pretty damn good too. Playing Umineko without ever seeing Erika is heresy.
people are still mad about the ending
Ange was unironically the worst part of Seacats. Thankfully Based Episode 5 kicked things back into gear. And EP 4 had a great ending even if the rest was a chore.
Umineko is fucking shit after ep 4 and the conclusion of the mystery is terrible. Absolutely terrible. I’ve never felt like I’ve wasted so much time.
why do nips call seagulls 'seacats'? are they stupid or something? they are clearly birds. there is nothing cat-like about them.
uryu
Nah. Umineko is at its best in ep 5. I'd say the manga for ep 8 is much better than the vn version though aside from the obvious unfortunate lack of the ep's music
they go nyaa like cats
The Duality of Man.
Why did you dislike the conclusion of the mystery? Shkannon was foreshadowed plenty of times, especially throughout EP 2 and you're a retard if you think Rykushi pulled it out of his ass because his bff died or whatever.
Episode 8 had it's problems but the actual ending was good.
1-7 are great, 4 has some bad pacing but overall the payoff is good.
The manga is great and improved episode 8 quite well. You should all read it.
He said sowwy :(
A retarded tranny that no one noticed was responsible for everything, and also some of it was or wasnt magic and or fanfiction that didnt happen. Amazing mystery story! Glad I waited for every ep to be translated and then read them for this shit!
>improved
>ruins the point of the ending by spelling everything out when it doesn't need to

DID, and counting personalities as people who can die is absolute garbage no matter how hard you try to defend it.
Also making it the answer to almost every single murder on the island
The solution to the mystery is an insult to mysteries.
Battler obliterating Berns asshole made me cum in my pants
Ignore the shitposters, fantasy part is way bigger than mystery part anyway, so there's no point in dropping it.
Don't be retarded, originally Erika was supposed to appear in Episode 3.
"umi" sea
"neko" cats
it's a broken japanese pun
I came up with a theory the moment Maria got the letter from "Beatrice" that it had to be Shannon that did it since she was the closest in looks to the portrait without an alibi for her location at the time, and she would have motive because of the promise made with Battler but I thought there was no way they'd make it that obvious she was Beatrice that early on in something with 8 total episodes so I set that theory aside. Then every time they alluded to it having to be that, and Kanon also being Shannon in each subsequent episode I was mad that was what the writer had actually went with because it only works if the entire cast is absolutely retarded
The real solution was the friends we made along the way.
Episode 1: Not a good first introduction. Slow pacing and dull until the family dinner starts, which takes hours. Only gets really hype when the episode ends. The ending however is by far one of the most memorable parts of any game ever. If it was presented better it could have made Umineko reach a whole different level in public perception. That would never happen, however, as the flaws presented here are consistent across all of Umineko.
Episode 2: Controversial one which made many players give up. New concepts are introduced without much explanation and require a lot of filling-in on reader's part. The tone changes to include more stupid anime bullshit which many people didn't expect or want to see. The new concepts are really innovative and neat, but Battler is insufferable and they definitely could have been presented better.
Episode 3: A lot more straightforward and more informative to the players. Lots of focus on character drama and emotional rollercoasters. One of my personal favorites is it plays up to the series' strengths. Amps up the stupid anime bullshit even higher, though. Straight mystery fans don't like it because it takes a backburner.
Episode 4: Introducing the Mary Sue. Give us a new character with a separate story that has nothing to do with the rest of the cast and spend 10 hours on it. it's insufferable and only liked by people who can relate to or badly want to fuck Ange. Ange becomes the center-piece of the story after this so you better get used to it. I hated it.
Ryuukishi really, really hated his readers by the end, because they dared to like the mystery more than whatever bullshit he was going for.
That's why Erika exists as the only detective who doesn't give up in the face of MUH LOVE.
Episode 5: Considers to be one of the best, introducing the controversial but popular Erika. Basically a better version of Ange, actually being inserted into the island and acting as an antagonist instead of being a Mary Sue. Very well-rounded episode and not much to complain about that I can think of.
Episode 6: High potential that was squandered. This was supposed to be Battler's time to shine, yet he acted the dumbest he ever had. More focus on horror than usual. Really should have been better.
Episode 7: Why does this exist? It's an entire episode dedicated to pure backstory with very little happening. It also treats the audience like a retard and force-feeds you the identity and motivation of the culprit. It's quite disrespectful and keeps doing it over and over again. Probably the point where the author was losing motivation and got angry at his own fans.
Episode 8: Terrible pacing ruining what little good that remained. Most of the episode is action and meaningless battle scenes that go on for hours and hours. There are good parts but they are drowned out by filler and the author going fully up his own ass. One part could be seen as a direct attack against his own fanbase which triggered tons of people. It's not as bad as the haters make it out to be, though. The interactive elements were neat and the endings were okay. Could have been worse.
None of episodes are actually representative of what really happened or what Ushiromiyas were like anyway.
I also liked how every single mystery included half of the cast being accomplices.
The solution is goddamn retarded even it was foreshadowed. People invented the madness that is Rosatrice purely because the conditions needed for the official solution are so contrived. It's quite insulting as a mystery.
Have you read the Rules for the tragedy in the manga? It makes it easier to see how that could happen. Rule Z states that Yasu wants someone to help her and if it was Battler who noticed and at least responded to Yasu's feelings, things would be able to be different. The culprit wanted to be found
What will Saku bring to the table do you think?
>Episode 4: Introducing the Mary Sue.
>Ange
>Mary Sue
>retarded
>no friends
>schizo

>hot body but that's it

>DID, and counting personalities as people who can die is absolute garbage no matter how hard you try to defend it.
Except it was teased as early as episode 3, SEE EVA-trice not directly refuting Battler directly by saying "no multiple personalties exist." when's trying to counter the red web of truth
I can understand some of your logical frustrations but the RED being able to be twisted was fine imo
If I remember correctly his readers sent him SEETHing death threats and the sorts to the point he nearly quit the entire business.
>Episode 6: High potential that was squandered. This was supposed to be Battler's time to shine, yet he acted the dumbest he ever had. More focus on horror than usual. Really should have been better.

Why yes, i did read original sprites, no voice acting, how could you tell?
And yes, I did read versions without the copyrighted tracks removed.
And yes, i also don't lewd the cast
>And yes, i also don't lewd the cast
Faggot, Rosa is MADE to be lewded.
I'd like to think he came up with the stuff foreshadowed really early as a backup plan just in case he wrote himself into a corner, but after reading Ep 7 I really think he thought it was a great idea and hated how much shit he was getting for having something so contrived be the answer. Ep 7 was one of the most painful things I've ever read in my life.
I want to put a collar on Ange while she is naked and force her to eat dog food
>Except it was teased as early as episode 3
No, being teased does NOT make it ok, it's absolute bullshit, there are some things that aren't acceptable and personalities dying and coming back to life and actually counting as such is one of the most retarded things in fiction.
In-story she's treated as a genius (way smarter and more talented than Battler, you silly boys!) who is the final and most powerful Beatrice because she comes from the future. She hijacks the main story as the focus of the later episodes is all about her timeline and her own personal tale. All of episode 8 is about deciding Ange's future. The things you mentioned are all tragic backstory and events to make up sympathize and feel bad for the pure goodness and awesomeness that is Ange.
if you hate ange you honestly missed the point of the story and might as well stop after 4 like many people want to. it literally doesn't matter whether and which conclusion you reach - it's just a neat little story
in reality it is really all about how ange has to live on with things already decided in the past and come to terms with it, is it really that hard to understand?
honestly, where I'm at right now, no voice acting would be great. Maria and Sakutarou may be the some of the most annoying characters I've ever encountered in fiction.
If i had a picture of one of those numale wojaks saved, i would quote your post and phrase it to look like he's saying it. I guess rosa deserves to be lewded cuz she's a slut and an awful mother 80% of the time
But i dont save bad wojaks because i'm not one myself, so here's a picture of battler and his sister
So this is the power of goats...
>how dare you hate a character who was introduced halfway through the story and made everything about herself! You should have never even bothered reading it!
Hmmmm.
>he didn't read as it was coming out and being translated
>he didn't waste months arguing between episodes just for THAT ending and answer
The whole ride went to shit after episode 6 came out and never recovered.
god fucking damn it
Any predictions on how Ryuukishi is going to further destroy the story in Episode 9? My guess is he's going to drill Shkanontrice even harder into our brain, just for the few who don't get it yet.
you do understand that otherwise there would be no story, right? they are dead. what they're experiencing is not real. she's the only way to put things into perspective
also way to miss the point of the post by the way
>and an awful mother 80% of the time
Reminder that most of it only happens when Rosa and Maria are alone or is only depicted in Maria's diary. In fact, when Maria assumed that Rosa was visiting hot springs, in the next episode you learn that Rosa was called by Rudolf to discuss the inheritance plan. Rudolf even comments that Rosa didn't bring Maria with her.
Rosa's abusiveness is greatly flanderized by Ange's perception of her.
I'm guessing he's just going to summon every single mystery author and character ever to explain how amazing of an answer it is and how great umineko's message actually is.
Or something equally masturbatory.
I'm too new, but soon I will know the feeling with Ciconia
You do understand this shit worked just like higurashi until R07 decided it didn't?
Ange was pretty much a really shit version of Akasaka.
>but I already bought both parts
>paying for the weeb equivalent of Tails Gets Trolled
what about the receipt? did maria make that up?
just read superior Higanbana
That shit was so edgy it gave me an aneurysm. What the hell was Ryuukishi thinking when writing that shit?
It introduces called Piisu. She is another minion of someone more influental. She also dies at some point in really gruesome way.
how is Umineko like Tails Gets Trolled?
>None of episodes are actually representative of what really happened or what Ushiromiyas were like anyway
10/10 amazing mystery story
Receipt wasn't from hot springs, but from train. Hot springs is something that Maria assumed.
Ah, the witch of piisu, and her sister, the witch of pupu.
they definitely needed more screentime
I understand what Ange's story is about, but that doesn't mean it doesn't absolutely destroys the pacing of episode 4. I wouldn't have minded if she got an episode just for her backstory, but in there it's like a B plot that overstays its welcome.
It's in katakana. I assume it's supposed to be ambiguous between "piece" and "peace".
>Shkannon was foreshadowed
That's called *red herring*, not "foreshadowing".
Learn the difference, it could save your life
He has a fetish for bullying, abuse and shit, but the only decent story he's written about that is Satoko's which is a pretty hardcore critic on the japanese childcare services.
>"tattoo"
>Rosatrice'er still fucking assblasted to this day
Admit it dude, you were wrong. Now fuck off and go outside
What's with rampant goats? Usually threads are more civil.

Episode 7 was so bad that I never even bothered playing episode 8 despite all the time I invested in the series

Post tragic figures
This always rubs me the wrong way, the way the author is so high on his own supply that he constantly shoves this theme into your face every five seconds, along with the "cat box"
god, I think I heard the words "Neko boxu" like five times a paragraph at one point in 7 or 8
Those were the days.
I'll be honest, Ryuukishi would completely redeem himself if he made episode 9 all about presenting Rosatrice as a solution. Can you imagine how assblasted it would make everyone?
Too bad it's not going to happen and he's just going to double down on his own "brilliant" solution even harder.

I could imagine this exact same post with literally any solution in mind, it'd make NOBODY happy to have an already presented theory be correct.
Everyone has their own personal truths user
The people working under her, the social services, the police all confirmed that she wasn’t on work when she said to Maria she was.
What she was doing when she wasn’t working is up to debate.
Ep 5 implied that she wasn’t always spending time with her boyfriend as, once, she met up with Rudolf, Kyrie, Hideyoshi and Eva.
We also know she had more than one man, and likely she didn’t drag them all on Hokkaido trips.
Just finished episode 5 and started 6 here. I can already tell from the start that they've made Batler into yet again a gigantic incompetent fool.
I really don't know how to feel about the series, some episodes have horrible pacing. A lot of stuff is hugely overexplained but you find out there is a tiny nugget of foreshadowing truth or hint slipped within the massive overexplaination that essentially repeats itself for 10 minutes, so you still need to pay attention.
The writing and format also seems to be done so that the reader can try to guess and solve things alongside the characters, but there are so many asspulls and invented rules out of nowhere that there is no consistency to really allow this, except a few times where you CAN get it right but if you do you're gonna wait through 30 minutes of sheer incompetence from Battler before a side-character whispers him the solution, which actually negates the joy of having found out the solution to a case because by the time you're proven right you had to sit through half an hour of retard guesses knowing the answer all along.
As for the story, I can tell I'm meant to basically try and understand exactly what took place and there is this big secret that is unveiled piece by piece, and I guess that's cool but I struggle to care about all the characters that keep getting introduced or re-introduced (with a different backstory due to the nature of the story).
Ultimately I guess my biggest pet peeve is that R7 seems to enjoy establishing rules, formats and patterns, but then he acts like a dickhead DM and arbitrarily decides things that constantly contradicts them, resulting in me the reader not wanting to get involved or even feel any tension or emotion because I'm just waiting for the next asspull. He also seems to prioritize style a LOT. I'm still gonna try and finish it but so far I've got to stay I much prefer the kind of VN Uchikoshi writes
No one has DID.
>LOOK AT THIS MAN AND LAUGH
>IMAGINE UNIRONICALLY THINKING ROSATRICE IS A BETTER SOLUTION
Name a single thing Shkannontrice explains better than Rosatrice.
I'll wait.
gimme a dl and I will later today
R07's magical version of DID then, where personalities exist and can die.
>I much prefer the kind of VN Uchikoshi writes
Uchikoshi has better presentation but not nearly the level of depth and finesse R7 has. Despite its shortcoming Umineko really is a commentary about the mystery genre and makes you think about concepts like the nature of truth and the role of the author in fiction. Uchikoshi by comparison is as shallow as a puddle and tells the same story every time.
>uchikoshi
loving every laugh mate
"the heart" and all the meta scenes are explained better by Shaknontrice. The whole love duel nonsense in episode 6 for example, and why so much of the story is wasted on fatass George. If we go purely by mystery then tons of things work because the rules are so easily circumvented you can make the most random shit and it would check out.
>everyone says by episode 4 I should be able to piece it all together
>just finished ep 5 and still clueless
Welp I guess I'm just a fucking retard.
I know Battler has a different mother, I know he made some kind of promise to Beato in the past, when he was young. I get Kinzo was dead from the start, what the fuck am I missing else from the first 4 episodes?
Why is it bullshit? Explain.
I really like Uchikoshi's plot writing (from what I've read, haven't read ZTD but memes tell me I won't enjoy it) but the characters typically suck compared to R07's. If a VN was just plotplotplot constantly that would be fine but you are bound to have so many slow slice of life scenes that a cast can really make or break the VN.
People are people, humans who have bodies and leave corpses.
A part of someone's mind, and a borderline imaginary friend at that in Umineko's case, should never be able to "die" because it's absolutely retarded and at that point just don't bother even having a mystery if the answer to everything is
>well, this person died but because he's just part of another person whoever owns the body can freely murder people
It completely destroys the concept of a murder mystery.
It renders the red meaningless. The fact imaginary people can "die" and comes back to life as needed means you can apply the same solution in an arbitrary fashion to overcome all of Beatrice's mysteries. For example, Rosa didn't die when she was stated to because she took on the persona of the Black Witch for that moment. Bang, Rosa did everything! It doesn't matter if it ridiculous, as it's no dumber than a tranny dating two cousins at the same time and them never figuring out they were the same person.
Because Nakazawa wrote the plots of his VNs, and he just rips that work off for a living.
Yeah I will give you that, I just happen to care very little about the mystery genre and it's tropes, so any form of deconstruction or commentary on it will fly over me. I do appreciate some of the points made about truth in general, but it's hard to find the worthwhile ideas in the middle of the clusterfuck his novels seems to be. Sometimes the 4th wall is broken to make a very interesting point, sometimes it's literally for stupid style and anime memes.
Again I do agree with you though, in terms of entertainement I personally so far prefer what i've read of uchikoshi (r11 and e17) but I won't lie and say it has any depth. Then again I rarely approach the medium of VNs expecting any depth.
How big of a hint do you want? These could be real spoilers.
Little hint is think back to Battler and Shannon were friends in the past and were close when they were younger
Big hint is When has someone that wasn't a servant or had good credibility seen Shannon and Kanon in the same room together
eh
really, spoonfeeding
on 4channel is kinda
gay but I'll make an
exception. btw i theorize that maria has
down syndrome. I wish I could take the
load off rosa and help her relax, sexually.
Don't worry, Rosa is already getting dick plenty but no daddy for Maria
Wasn't Nakazawa just the director?
A promise is addressed in episode 3.
And cowriter, main reason r11 isn't even finished.
That's why every single uchikoshi story after r11 is just a rehash.
But there is no indication of Rosa having another persona, only Shannon and Kanon. The Black Witch is never shown as another character, while Beatrice is.
huh, why is he the reason r11 wasn't finished? did he leave the project or something?
I only checked the small hint.
I did consider that Saya/Shannon was somehow beato, maybe initially a homunculus Kinzo made to trap beato into a physical body, and may have made the promise with Battler that way, but since she has this whole romance plot with george it felt weird to consider her that key of a character
Anyway thanks for the clues guys, I'll think on it and keep reading, considering how things have been going so far it's probably something that will make me shout "that's fucking bullshit" anyway.
>considering how things have been going so far it's probably something that will make me shout "that's fucking bullshit" anyway.
The official explanation relies on everybody on the island being very, very dumb and almost blind. Keep that in mind and you can easily figure it out.
How does it destroy it if its solvable?
Reminder that Higurashi was better.
Elaborate.
Why does r7 seem to understand women so well in the way he writes them? Especially that fucking slut Rosa
Oh boy
Don't think about homunculi, you have to reject all magic elements at any point be it past, present, or future.
How fucking dumb are you? It's not that it's not solvable, it's the exact opposite. That rule exploit makes coming up with a solution trivially easy. You can't have a murder mystery if there's no closed room in the first place.
>The official explanation relies on everybody on the island being very, very dumb and almost blind
god no, it fucking wasn't, and every single one of you revisionists who swoop in with "umineko was always inferior to higurashi" are the highest tier of brainlet in existence

How so?
They were about to run a kickstarter to dub the entire thing into English, and get the PS3 sprites into the official version. Shortly after the announcement but before the kickstarter went up the person running it and doing all the footwork on the project found out they were extremely ill and the whole thing has been on hiatus since.
do you really think that the ushiromiyas aren't blind after not noticing anything weird about shannon for all of that time?
Where were you when Gohdatrice was confirmed
Then all I can think of is Shannon is mentally insane and deluded herself into thinking she is beato and made some kind of promise to battler BUT I am pretty sure it was said in red at some point that there was no one with multiple personalities on the island so honestly I don't fucking know. Also trying to explain the whole thing without magic would mean Kinzo got lucky as fuck or shat the gold out of nowhere.
I want to fuck Ange's tits.
You're not that far away with the mentally insane Shannon part
The gold story is honestly bullshit and I can't see how anyone would be able to guess what it actually means
Jessica is dumb, but Natsuhi and Krauss hardly interact with the servants that much and everyone else either knew or came to the island once a year.
>BUT I am pretty sure it was said in red at some point that there was no one with multiple personalities on the island so honestly I don't fucking know
The actual line is this No actions caused by Jessica's body had any relation to or influence on the murder of Nanjo! This also applies to Battler and Eva. In other words, no matter how much you try to struggle and interpret it, neither Jessica nor Battler nor Eva is the culprit who killed Nanjo, make your own conclusions with that knowledge.
>bad art
>good story in the beginning and the middle
>but then gets kinda worse at the end
Impressive, you've almost got it! You have to go a bit more retarded than that, though.
I feel you OP. I had the exact same reaction.
>introduce a souless dead-inside emotionless character that looks down on everyone
>more than half of the episode is you being stuck in her shitty head and her shitty thoughts
It gets even worse towards the end, but you'll get a tiny bit of catharsis eventually if you hate that bitch as much as I do.
I don't think he's there yet user
Hell, Shannon is basically suppossed to be her cloest friend on the island. So huh, I guess she's really IS blind

Didn't realize you're theorycrafting sorry senpai hope you didn't read that

Is erika supposed to be dislikable? I just finished episode 5 and she's probably one of my favorite character.
>you will never solve a mystery with her and make theories only hoping to hear her say and praise your intelligence even though she herself had figured it out long ago
why are retards that didn't finish umineko in here?
Erika sees them together at least once
>little hint
>spoils the entire story
Brainlets hate her because she's a bitch. Patricians like her because she's interesting and breathed some much-needed life into the game. In truth she's best girl.
she's the best character in umineko
Do you mean unlikable?
Everyone is dislikable.
>official merchandise
I wish Rosa was my mommy I'd give her the dick she needs desu senpai
Everyone likes her because she's fun to hate.
I don't think she's as good as people say she is, she's not bad but she's not so great that she can be called the best character in umineko.
I think people love her so much because part 4 was boring as shit and, was actually enjoyable and took over Battler's role after he left it to become a worse character
*she was actually enjoyable
is one of my favorite lines of voice acting ever
without love, it cannot be seen
Bern is cute, right?
She's a mary sue. But a good one.
wrong

AAA kino
She is supposed to be unlikable, yes, as she's a satire of a particular kind of mindset and character with the intention of showing how psycho and autistic they would "actually" be.
Doesn't mean she's not a good character in-context. Especially if you consider: what kind of OC would a precocious young girl (eternal witch) create? A smart, beautiful, fashionable girl who is never wrong about everything and everyone likes her and she can use chopsticks real good like a grownup - and so on, you get the idea.
Lambda is cuter
Reminder that Natsuhi did nothing wrong. Refusing to be a cuck parent isn't a bad thing
higurashi is better
Every thread until we reach the golden land
remake this image with the real art, then i will give you my (You)
Best adult character
Is this art real enough?
Who was the biggest cuck between Kyrie and Ayumu? The one who thought she had a dead baby and hated her real son for years or Ayumu who raised him as her own son?
Didn't know Umineko had a yaoi spinoff
If you didn't use the original sprites you had an inferior experience
Upscaled sprites + new backgrounds + voice acting is the way to go
Kyrie because she never learnt the truth in the end, Asumu got her man and Kyrie got the scraps.
>nobody played RGD
PS3 art > Original art >>> Steam art
What's the deal with Episode 9? Is it going to be full length or like a bonus thing?
Original art >> PS3 art >>>>>>>> garbage > Steam art
I got a few hours into ep 1. It was boring as shit. I was only interested because Ryuukishi seemed to be making a political statement against multiculturalism and going full NIPPON BANZAI. But I didn't care enough about the story to read it only for that.
>mft when battler was truly Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy all this time
i fucking knew it
I mean... He always was deep down, even if he didn't know it yet
it's over the top chuuni shit for the first one and a half episodes and then moves into political maneuvering, it's a fun ride but not anything super great
This is the golden truth
What is the best Battler sprite and why is it this one
he gets 100% female cake author pussy though.
I like this one, it looks like he's saying
"Bro thats pretty cringe"
they are like cats but at sea and not at land
this image is so perfect, people should make more bulge battler
UWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH BEATORIIIIIIIIIICHE
Wasn't she supposed to be his wife in the original epilogue? Anyway, yea he's totally tapping it.
Umineko is basically "We wrote an interesting story about 18 characters, then made the story go on way longer than it should have by introducing a bunch of lesbos and gays that are nowhere neart as interesting as the original 18 characters".
It's one of the biggest dropoffs of quality in writing I've ever experienced.
not in the wrong thread this time
Here's a little sketch i did, hopefully Yea Forums thinks its funny
Without love it cannot be seen
i'm saving it
the only good new character was dlanor
>he doesn't know the truth about Tohya
Ooph. Protip: even in the real ending Battler is still gay.
Beato go back to sleeping with the fishes you psychotic cunt.
>He doesn't like THE HEART
DIE THE DESU
I read it and it's my only 10/10 vn.
I hope Ciconia can live up to it.
God, i love the way erika is completely obsessed with bern and bern just treats her like dirt, its such a good interaction, its so perfect, i love every second of it, especially when bern just toys with her emotions, it gives me butterflies
Episode 9 will most likely be about how Featherine/Hachijo is another Shkanon persona.
One of the only good things about the Steam art is that Beatrice is the closest of all her versions to looking like an actual tranny.
that's a very fuckable erika in that image
One part of my mind is like "yes" but the other is like "no"
Since she got no pen and no balls, wouldn't that stop the production of testosterone? and then never actually develop the muscle structure of a male?
He's in.
I just started reading it a few days ago, seems great so far. Leo is cute af
You can like her character and still think she's a giant bitch.
I read up to act 4 in the manga and finished the rest as a VN. Did I dodge a bullet that way?
>didn't get to see Shannon's bra
reminder that Eva did literally, absolutely NOTHING wrong
and ange is shit
and bern is cheeky cunt
Your text has duct tape on it.
In episode 6 why didn’t battler have lightning or something strike the house, making the family move and breaking the “closed room” scenario? It’s better to have a contrivance than to get a logic error, right?
His voice would also become majorly fucked up due to the lack of testosterone
youtu.be
Yea I wasn't sure either, he could have just said somebody stuck their head out to check the hallway and messed up the seal, it could have been anything
It’s probably just because he’s incompetent
the maria stuff in chapter 4 is some of the best written stuff in the whole story
the only reason I can imagine someone finds maria annoying is if they're a retarded secondary that isn't playing the original version of the game where they give everyone except battler/beatrice annoying voice acting
The game was stopped.
youtu.be
"Grazie!"
I meant before she opens the door obviously, preferably right after she does that bullshit retroactive duct taping
If you have to stop the game and rewrite it to fix an error, that's the same thing as there being an error.
Maria’s annoying because she won’t stop that “uuuu” shit.
It’s not rewriting if it hasn’t been revealed to the player yet.
Lambda went over the whole script with Battler in advance to prevent trickery like that on Battler's part, speedreader-kun
The whole thing is a metaphor for shipping your mystery book out to the fans where they're able to read the complete work.
I'm starting chapter 3 of the original game and hate Maria with a passion, She's literally an autistic shit kid prone to throw hissy fits, laugh at brutalized corpses of her family with their children siblings and friends in the room and all around ignore the garbage going on around her out of some sort of delusional and misguided belief in magic obscuring her understanding of the reality that her family and her lives are in danger with a "nah man I'm safe and this killer said they were going to take me to witch land fuck the rest of you sacrifices" I can't stand she is so autistically caught up in her own make believe world that she is able to act that way, Battler had the right idea even with all this magical bullshit existing in this universe with witches and gods (since it seems to imply it shares a world with Higurashi) I think that what happened on Rokkenjima has nothing to do with magic.
Well but if he did that then Erika would find out the seals were broken and then there would be no mystery.
Yes, but better to withdraw from one battle than to lose the war
Oh boy.
Big brainlet here. What are we meant to infer Battler does after the suspension of Ep. 5? That's one of the ones that he's "in on", right? Does he just reveal to Natsuhi that it's all supposed to be an epic prank?
It was a bet I guess. He also probably didn't have enough ammo for the next twilights and Erika could probably have solved the rest considering her main priority was to trap Battler rather than solving the mystery.
I don't have one, hence I wanted to open the cat box.
Bernkastel did nothing wrong.
the only character that unironically did nothing wrong was Eva. The only thing she did "wrong" was have a retarded family.
>tfw never finished EP4
I discovered Umineko through the anime and only started reading the VN a couple weeks later. By the time I got to the slog that was EP4 I just said "fuck it, I've seen the anime" and skipped to EP5. Thinking back, I kinda fucked myself there because I missed a ton of clues from the end of EP4.
I doubt I'll ever go back and read it all these years later, though part of me is tempted when I hear about Krauss VS Goat.
Ange.
Too bad Eva and Angel's relationship became what it did.
Fucked everything up by being sick and missing the family conference. If only she died on Rokkenjima, Eva could have had it all to herself!
Incorrect diet management leading to an obese son is a mistake in parenting.
Why does the original art have so much soul? It's like any of the remakes are unable to just translate any of the expressions and make everybody seem more stiff and less emotive. One my biggest problem is the unnecessary gradients on the eyes makes the characters look even more off all you need is a flat color and a single highlight in the corner for most character to make it a little more natural Dlanor got the closest to being faithful and even that is half assed. The cg and voice acting is nice but I couldn't justify playing the newer versions of Higurashi and Umineko with the shitty new art Ryukishi has a very original and distinctive style that adds to the identity of series they should capitalize on that rather than trying to paint over and "pretty it up"
Ungrateful shit who didn't appreciate the only competent person in the family adopting her and saving her from learning about her family of psychopaths. Should've just died on the island like everyone else.
t. Eva
He's my only never ever and that hurts where's my miracle?
Eva and Ange got a pretty bad cycle of resentment going on and never solved it when they were each others last family member and should have been there for the other. It's sad in a way.
Maybe Ange should've respected that someone who survived on a island with retards talking about moon hotels, psychos with guns, a mental tranny trying to blow everyone up, and chefs trying to poison people with small bombs might have a bit of PTSD. But no! Truth and digging up bad memories so for the sake of your onii-chan is so much more important that respecting the family you have left.
Ange just needed to get dicked but Eva prevented that from ever happening desu.
>with retards talking about moon hotels, psychos with guns, a mental tranny trying to blow everyone up, and chefs trying to poison people with small bombs
She didn't know any of this though.
>She's literally an autistic shit kid prone to throw hissy fits
That's literally her character. EP4 might change your mind about her.
>Eva only survivor
>Eva never tell anybody what actually happened
>Be surprised when everybody think you did it but got no proof so can't go to jail
>Takes in 6 years old niece whom parents and brother never came home and were last seen on an island with her
>Suddenly starts putting pressure on 6 years old to be the next head of the family
>Said 6 years old decide to become a cunt towards her because the only reasonnable conclusion is that Eva killed everybody since she never told her anything.
Just read the fucking manga while listening to the game's music. The VNs take a bajillion hours to read, and while the story is good, it's not THAT good to spend so many hours.
...
Gabriel made me angrier in a few hours than whatever Bernkastel, Lambda or Featherine ever managed.
I'm just glad that absolutely everyone shits on her for automatically assuming Eva did it. Why the fuck would Eva even take care of your dumb ass if she wanted everything to herself. The average mass murderer doesn't tend to take care of the kids of the parents they killed
Me too user
Feels like she thought about it ONCE when she was 6 and then shutted down her brain
>only one decent Ange doujin
>turns into futa then futa on male half way through
Doujins are for people who cannot see the truth because they are too hornt
Can you even imagine the reaction of all the normie smashfags if a literally who like Battler got in? Every time I see someone talk about similar characters getting in, I always wonder what the fallout would be like if by some miracle it actually happened.
Realistically they could put them in BBTag, the sprites already exist
I want to rape Erika
I want to fuck Ange in her tight cunny
cicunnya
i was thinking that, it'd make total sense too with fantasia, hell, it makes about as much sense as....senran kagura reps? rwby reps?
Imagine if not even Battler but instead some random character from Umineko got in instead.
I really miss those days. Back when Umineko was still ongoing.
Everyone was coming up with theories for the murders, who the culprit was, trying to solve the epitaph etc. Trying to figure out who the new characters on the Chiru portraits were.
I honestly don't think I've ever seen such a reaction to a VN series or anything else, and I don't think I ever will.
it’s at least worth it for the intellectual rapist
i laughed more than i should've
Ciconia soon
Autism is a helluva thing
Damn casual clothes Eva looks good for a 50 year old
All y'all niggas did pre-order saku, right?
she has stylish thigh highs though
In universe, she's thick like her mom
I dont have any money ;_;
This, its the reason I'm so mixed on episode 4 cause the Maria shit is all incredible but the Ange stuff is boring and sloggy
She's a little healthy.
the Maria shit is annoying with voice acting and absolutely fucking boring without it. Partly because the author thinks I need it jammed into my head that Rosa is shitty and Maria is delusional but happy. I got that from the first fucking flashback, I didn't need 3 fucking more. It's just retreading the same shit over and over again.
Ange investigating Rokkenjima is interesting but the moment her tulpas show up the pace crawls to a halt and they start talking about the same type of shit again.
Repeating shit is the most annoying part of this story. A lot of times characters will explain something over and over in unnecessarily convoluted or vague ways and then someone else will pop in and say "So in short" and then explain it one more time. Its really getting on my nerves.
Ange didn't appear out of nowhere though. She was mentioned several times before episode 4.
>delusional but happy
I don't think she was
It's what Ryukishi does
she convinced herself she was happy even though she was really fucked up is what I meant
I'm not holding out much hope for Ciconia. It looks nothing like Umineko, or Higurashi for that matter, in terms of setting or themes. No secluded setting, no horror/mystery vibes, looks more like a battle shounen type thing.
Not to say it'll be bad, I have faith in Ryukishi's talent as a writer. It just seems weird to me to make such a different thing and call it the next WTC. If he wanted to do something totally different he could've just brought it out as a seperate project like RGD.
That said, there's a decent chance there's some huge twist and Ciconia ends up being very different than it first appears.
im excited for it
what if she's a reincarnation of ange
i guarantee you guys ryukishi is gonna pull some bullshit where miyao switches genders across episodes
>she
Don't make fun of my new boyfriend please.
she had a nice chest growth spurt going on but later adaptations ruined that
oh my
Ahem.
>no voice acting
How is this considered a good thing? The voice acting for Umineko is god tier
contrarians like to go with
>muh originally intended experience
>I can't understand the language at all but I'm sure their acting is great.
>japanese-let think I can't understand
Just cause you can't do something don't assume everyone is at your level
how can you know if someone sings great if you can't sing yourself, brainlet?
I can sing myself and i can safely say 99% of singers even the ones on the radio fucking suck
Ange the 50 year old virgin
Umineko really is an anomaly in storytelling since it elicits assmads reaction like yours from people who expected it to be something it never was. From the very beginning, made clear as early as when the adults start bitching at each other in the lobby and George displays chemistry with Shannon, Umineko is a tragic character drama with a mystery as a backdrop.
If you isolate Episode 7, it has some of the most beautifully paced and theme-integrated storytelling ever told, but because all you see is "REEEE DON'T TELL ME THE ANSWERS", you can't make yourself enjoy it.
Similarly, the Ange arc that starts in 4 and concludes in 8 is where all the lessons from the the remainder of the story are synthesized and made clear to readers, but you see it a annoying filler to a mechanical challenge you want to solve.
Nah, that be Episode 7.
