Nobody knows what it does.

it's a free +1

what does it do?

It makes the game more fast paced and exciting

Thins your deck for free so you have higher chances of drawing exactly the cards you want, and gives you free card advantage

its overpowered because turns in yugioh arent gated by mana and such like in hearthstone

>This post is off-topic

janny's bitch

It wastes too much time trying to explain what it does.

Because the first person to draw it has a higher chance of winning at the cost of nothing.

But you also have less cards in your deck to work with
It matters a lot more than you think it does

Because nobody can properly explain what it fucking does.

It gives you card advantage and helps you get what you need. It's so powerful that there's no reason to ever not include it in your deck.

Draw power is powerful in mtg with a 60 card deck.

Now imagine a 0 cost spell that allowed you draw 2 cards.

That would obviously be busted.

Now take that same idea and implicate to a 40 card deck where you could run 3 and you can see the issue.

Because it doesn't have a cute girl

archetypes ruined yu-gi-oh
It's not about builidng a good deck anymore it's about owning all the cards in some shitty set

Is watching zexal a good way to learn XYZ summons? Or should I just jump in the campaign mode of legacy of the duelist?

when the game ends at turn 2 half of the time it really doesn't

Have you even touched this game since 2001?

bypasses the Heart of the Cards

>ban cards that speed up the game like Pot of Greed, card destruction, and raigeki
>make sets of cards that have thesis papers for card effects
what is konami's plan?

...

Alright, how 'bout a hypothetical?
Let's say your strategy requires 10 cards to secure a win.
The game requires your deck to have 13 cards at minimum.
Do you:
a) Choose Pot of Greed so that you can get all 10 cards to sooner and secure your victory faster. Or
b) Pick 3 other cards and lower the chance of getting the pieces you need.

>card destruction, and raigeki
>ban
user, I...

It looks like how the ugly fucks look in hentai and due to tournyfags liking vanilla shit only, it makes them rage.

They cycle
>create OP card
>ban OP card
>create a bunch of conditional cards that do the same thing
repeat

if theres a problem with modern yugioh its that the game is too fast

yes and? every card game has these

>XYZ card requires 2 level 4 monsters
>have 2 level 4 monsters on the field
>Summon XYZ card by placing the 2 level 4 monsters under the XYZ card, then place this stack of cards in the extra monster zone (or any zone a link monster points to)
>The 2 level 4 monsters are now considered XYZ material, discard these whenever the card effects tell you to do so

>But you also have less cards in your deck to work with
If you need more cards than the minimum, your deck is shit.

Some of the most unfair, bullshit, overpowered decks in Yu Gi Oh history weren't even archetype decks. Don't let shit like Zoodiacs cloud your view of history. Even now, you can build plenty of viable decks that use little to no archetype monsters. UCT Dinosaurs come to mind.

and most other equivalents are easy graveyard set-up. I don't understand why it can't be limited

>Opponent plays PoG into PoG into Exodia turn 1
Well it's true enough.,,
youtube.com/watch?v=cp4fxe75810

>FTK decks should exist
lol

The game already goes really fast most of the time.

According to wikipedia, there are 56 Yugioh video games. Is that not enough?

Thanks

Because literally every deck ever would run it guaranteed and theres no actual thought process or decision making when it comes to deck building or using pot of greed in a duel. When you ask the questions "Do I want to put pot of greed in my deck?" or "Do I want to play the Pot of Greed in my hand?" The answer will always be yes. Its the definition of a brainless card.

wait card destruction is unbanned? i can understand raigeki monsters cant be destroyed anyway but discarding your and your opponents hand is way too op

Just play legacy of the duelist

>meanwhile in the pokeCHAD tcg

this.

>look into Yugioh for the first time since middle school
>now if you don’t win on the first turn you lose
>no player interaction

Who the fuck wants this?

Granted you have a fucking doctorate in Yu-Gi-Oh.

im pretty sure no one actually plays this they all just collect the cards. at least i never heard of anyone actually playing it

If it wasn't banned, it would be literally mandatory to play with three copies of it in every single deck regardless of what else the deck does. Allowing cards to exist that are mandatory to play is bad design. Even Konami seems to realize this.

Because it was printed at common. Starter decks were full of them. If it were a super rare $100+ card that sold packs it would be legal.

>no player interaction
Is having a dozen hand traps introduced into the metagame not enough for you?

werent the old cards banned because WotC cut off their partnership with nintendo or something?

They only unbanned it and Morphing Jar so they could promote the Danger! archetype. Funny thing is nobody runs Card Destruction or the Jar because a lot of decks are playing that archetype as an engine.

Do you know how links work?

They do play. The Pokémon World Championships just finished 4 days ago and a card like isn't played because it's out of the rotation. But the same effect has been printed on a new one anyway.

It has the same problem as the Power Nine from Magic. It was made before the meta was developed and the game was in a vastly different state than it is today. It's simply way too easy to use for what it does.

But they keep on releasing new ones that thin the deck out. Now players throw awayten cards to get those two new and it works since everything important is run three times anyway. If Konami were truly interested to stop that shit they should stop making new cards that thin out the deck one way or another.

I was at an LGS recently and they had a pokemon tournament and a 40k tournament going at the same time, an aroma so bad you’d think melee tournaments were a yankee candle shop.

Not really, also not pendulum.
I'm going by campaigns, but since I watched 5d's I know how everything works up to synchros

>archetypes ruined yu-gi-oh
>meanwhile the tops decks in Japan are link spam decks that mash up generically good engines

I got LotD on Switch, what's a good deck I can make to clear the campaign?
I've been using Amazonesses so far and it's working quite well, I got a bunch of them from Mai's booster pack early on so I've just been rolling with it. I don't really know much about the deck but princess, baby tiger and onslaught are carrying my dumb ass super hard.
Is there any other deck I can make early on in the game?
