The story is retarded and basically filler. You'll miss nothing by skipping it all and only playing the card game.
It's surprisingly fun for the card game part but the touch screen minigame to power up your cards gets a bit annoying later on. It's not super deep or anything though so by the time you get to the end of the story you'll probably have had your fill of the gameplay. It's worth grabbing on sale, but in case you weren't aware in the English Vita version about a dozen cards are missing their extra lewd level 3 artwork, and the PC version doesn't have online multiplayer.
