All those slick guitars and twangy beats, man. SOUL.

People didn't like the emerald hunting stages and I agree that most of them suck, but Security Hall and Meteor Herd are the exceptions. Those levels kick-ass. Security Hall is awesome because it puts pressure on you to figure shit out quick, and Meteor Herd is awesome because it's so open and allows you to take full advantage of Knuckles' abilities, unlike the other stages that are very enclosed.

I'm playing through it for the first time in years. I've always preferred Adventure 1 to it and I didn't like it at all my first playthrough. Somehow, I'm really enjoying this second go around.

The only stage where I actually LIKED the enclosed feeling was Death Chamber. It just...felt right, I dunno. Corridor-like level design really fit the theme of an old pyramid retrofitted with machinery and traps.
