game was and still is a day 1 purchase for me, i remember being like 8 years old and playing oddworld and reading the manual talking about how there was gonna be a 'quintology of games'. i wanna see the series do well and i want the games to be good. i'd rather the game have more polish than have it be on steam if that's the choice that has to be made
it's a shame, not because it's on epic store as I don't really mind that, but because now it means discussion of this game will be impossible. I didn't think the game looked good in that brief gameplay teaser around E3, but if I say that now people will screech at me about EGS instead.

Soulstorm isn't going to be a remake of the Exodus, but rather a re-imagening based on their later games like Munch's Oddysee. Or in other words, its trash.
Noticed a whole bunch of developers for the game made their accounts private on Twitter when they made the announcement, eheh. It's fine, Soulstorm wasn't a kickstarter game and never promised Steam keys, so I doubt it'll draw much, if any, real ire. And they didn't make a massive condescending "gamer babies" post and continue to dig themselves into a ditch.

try oddworld 2 abe's exoddus. it's the same as 1 but more, and refine mechanics, and a quick save system which is vital to the game being fun. the controls are very tight and aged well, it's playable today without nostalgia
