OCE used to play with 200-350 on US servers in vanilla. it was more difficult for certain classes but it wasn't exactly unplayable. for strictly PVE it's fine.

Yes it works just fine. I did most of my leveling with an imp. Voidwalker would be a bit easier but once you understand the class a bit more imp is fine.

if you like pve playing a priest is pretty fun, you have to manage mana and use downranked spells, and if you're doing 5 mans with a terrible or undergeared group you feel like a chad when you carry the team.

1-20 will be absolutely flooded with players due to bottle necking and people trying out different classes.
Group quests will be easier, but you'll be waiting on respawn timers for the most part.
Have some casual turn based game on the side like peggle or something.
WoW is also infamous for "Go gather X from Y. The drop rate is fuck you." type quests and "Go to the ends of the earth and back again." quests.

Level warrior with your friends, if at least ONE of them is capable of healing you'll enjoy warrior a lot more.
Paladin levelling is relatively slow but consistant, you'll pretty much never die.

You don't have to min max. You're not gonna be part of a high end top hardcore raiding guild. The point of the game is to play what you want and have fun doing it. But if you do go hunter just make sure to grab engineering as the best ammo is player crafted and buying it is a fucking pain in the ass on the auction house.

Also, don't forget that in vanilla the difference between a fresh scrub in his dungeon set 1, and a raider with half his BWL set is NOT THAT MUCH. This ain't retail. An arms warrior in blues who knows his shit and fights scrappy can grief zoomer minmaxers no sweat until Naxx. Naxx gear is really the only point where your clothes become the only thing that matters.

WR speed is going to be like week and a half or so questing, unless exploits are used (people always get banned every expac for using leveling exploits for world/server firsts). 5 man spam dungeons will probably be the most efficient unless you're playing lock/hunter

I tried out a private server with a friend and we leveled to 40. The social interaction with players was amazing and I'm 100% down to do it again on a real server.

Yes and no. As a game it isn't very good, but it set itself up in such a way that it promoted community growth, and the unironically "the friends you made along the way" were the best part. It's hard to say if WoW Classic will cause the same thing to happen. Then again, a lot of my old guild is coming back for Classic so at the very least it'll be nice to see old friends again for a little while.

There's nothing preventing alliance from flying to south shore and running 4 minutes to SFK. The journey TO the instance is just as important as the instance user. Some of the most fun was Frodo yelling get off the roads in silver pine because some 60 horde was passing on his way to run a lowb through SFK, hiding our nameplates in bushes and sweating hoping he didn't turn around and tab target us through the weeds.

Yes while leveling priest never run oom. You cast 1-2 spells, For example mind blast mind flay SW:P and wand the rest of the way and spirit tap will keep you swimming in mana. It's steady leveling

Probably means that spirit buff on kill and wanding the mob to death = almost full mana again

voidwalker in Classic cannot hold threat very well on one mob, much mess multiple. Healing up the VW along with tapping cannot be healed through with just SL. Draintanking is not a particularly fast way to level.

You spec for the 30% VW threat and imp drain soul asap. Warlock is more tricky to be 100% efficient on but it is faster than priest. You can ask anyone else, not just me. But you are right in that they are fairly close and I can't really think of another contender for 3rd fastest leveler, maybe mages who AoE farm but that shit won't really be an option on classic I feel like, it relied on dynamic respawn so the XP was inflated.

Warrior leveling is absolute cancer but DPS warriors will always get a raid spot and get really good end gear. Shamans are fun to level as you get totems and such but people are only bringing you do the raid for your windfury totem and will most likely want you speccing as resto. Depends entirely on your play style

Its actually a trap for warriors. One of the pieces is the best tank weapon until you start your preraid. Sulthraze itself might be an epic but the 2.6 swingspeed is going to make it far worse than most blue choices at that level. Especially after AV drops and you can get Ice Barbed Spear

That user is not entirely accurate in my experience. RP servers have always been bristling with RP; normies tend to be turned off by the very thought of it, which means that anyone who goes out of their way to make a character on a thespian realm is at the very least open to the idea. I've never played on an RP server where it was just "a little bit on the side," myself. The player base is by and large more adult though, and it's incredibly comfy. You will get your fair share of retards shoving awful backstories in your face and trannies larping as thousand year old elves that somehow have the mindset and conversational proclivities of a teenager, but they're easy to avoid, and easier to scoff at across the tavern half drunk like you would IRL anyway. Don't roll RP unless you plan to engage in some small way at the very least. RPPVP is the most pure server type.

I mean, we agree on all these points except that RP was rare. I've been on feathermoon and wyrmrest accord since vanilla and RP was always happening anywhere that wasn't the trade district. In TBC the only people in Silvermoon that weren't RPing were blood elves doing their starter zone quests--Silvermoon was always considered the RP city. So on and so forth. All I'm saying is if you're not open to participating in it at least in some small way you would be better off not. But then, if you're already interested in no stupid names, and the aesthetic of RPers in the background, why not be interested in joining in yourself at that point?

Undead Mage is npc regardless of gender. Male UD Rogue and Human War are so npc they loop around to being based. Fem Dwarf anything is cool and shame on you for discouraging it.

Plug in your stats here, it tells you what spell is your most efficient. Use that most of the time and use your highest rank heal if you need BIG heals.

It's not stressful. There's a lot of other healers in a raid so it's not you alone and it's fun to compete with them for the biggest numbers without overhealing.

5 mans are a big more stressful but not hard and if people die it's probably not your fault desu.

If you don't like it, you can go shadow and PVP all day while being top tier.

Paladins are Priests are nearly equal in healing ability. But Paladin have a very low skill ceiling in PVP and PVE healing, whereas Priests can be godlike once you fully learn your class.

Rogues have a few problems in Classic

-People are eager to try hybrid DPS memeing
-Rogues are pretty much always 2nd or 3rd on DPS and we 100% know that's not going to change
-Class fantasy in Classic is basically just lockpicking
-No self healing and squishier than some clothies
-Universally looked at as a small brain pick, something we did as teenagers

A lot of this is just people underestimating the Rogue. In a few months, after people are bodied every single day by lesser geared Rogues who know what they're doing, peoples' tunes will change.

It's not because it's limited to one race, it's because it kinda fucking sucks as a class to be fair. You're a flag runner in WSG and flag defender in AB, you can offtank a bit as bear and 1-2 druids are welcome each raid for MotW, faerie fire and combat ress but even as a healer you're slightly worse than the competition. Druids go from meh to demigods in one expansion and their numbers exploded in TBC as a result.

Picking the unoptimal race as any other class than priest only affects yourself, but when you bring non-dwarf priests into a raid the entire raid suffers as a result, this is why you have to accept that dwarves will always be a priority for guilds.
