Back to piracy for me, I guess.
Back to piracy for me, I guess
HAha lol another wow thread
...They can't even trust you even if you can prove you have the authenticator with you? Yeah, fuck it. Let's go, user Blackbeard. Let us embark on a journey to the seven seas.
>does not have an id
>age confirmed
>making it difficult to remove 2fa is a bad thing
I removed my authenticator this istant and re-activated without issues.
Trying to steal some account eh op?
What is this? Do you need show your id card to be able to play?
If you try to remove an authenticator from your account you have to prove you own the account. OP is like 14 so he has no ID.
>willingly giving your ID to corporations
I bet you cucks unironically use Windows 10 also
>don't wanna give Activision, fucking Activision, a copy of your goddamn driver's license
>lol ur 14
Please tell me you niggers are trolling
What wrong with them having your drivers licence?
Did you not save your Restore Code or Serial Number for your authenticatior? Even the virtual app has this if you go into the settings, user. I have them written down on a scrap of paper for mine, personally. Still, I'll never forget the time my phone broke and I needed to get a new one, but I had no way of turning my old phone back on to get the Serial Number or Restore Code, so it was obnoxious getting my authenticator taken off to put on a new one, but eventually customer support was able to get it off for me. Took about an hour on the phone with them, but it worked out.
This happened to me and it was fairly quick
It's an authenticator, it's supposed to be highly secure.
What the fuss about giving your ID anyways? Serious question btw, I'm not fond of Blizzard but I honestly don't give much of a shit about giving my ID.
think
metzen might steal your identity
wtf is this bait? thats an optional thing for cucks.
post it here, uncensored.
user, it's an opt-in thing that you signed up for of your own volition to make it harder for people to steal your password or find some other way into your account. They need to make it difficult for people to get in if the user opts-in for two-factor authentication like this. Or did you sign up for this while wanting it to be easy for Chinese dickheads to get into your account, steal anything they want if you play shit like WoW, and then get off scott-free after deleting your characters?
It's like you signed up for a security system and you're mad at them for sending law enforcement to your house when they detected a potential break-in. You're the one who chose to sign up for that protection and it's doing it's job by trying to keep your possessions secure. This also feels like putting your money in a safe, losing the combination, and then blaming the safe somehow for not opening without the combination to give you access to your money. It's not the safe's fault, that thing's still doing its job exactly as advertised and keeping out every individual that doesn't know the combination to its lock.
It’s about not giving u a company ur id
It’s about the message u faggot
He said the word Activision twice he doesn't have to give you a reason
I don't know about you but from where I am with a photocopy of an ID or the info from an ID you can forge documents, do fraud or take out quick loans. It's not something you want getting leaked by a stupid corporation.
The other day fucking PayPal wanted me to verify my name with an ID, birth certificate. My address with a bank statement or fucking electricity bill. My phone number etc. Shit's fucked, I ain't giving that kind of information, more so electricity bills and shit like that don't have my address on it, even if they did faggots wouldn't understand shit, it's not in English.
Based scallywag
Wouldn't it be easy to forge it if it wasn't in English then? They probably won't even look twice
>back to piracy
nice meme buyfag
nothing wrong with using win 10 ltsc if you're not a pimpled retard with 4 eyes
The system is fundamentally shit for anyone that isn't a smartphone zoomer though.
No, I'm pretty sure you just don't have an ID.
Bro what's wrong with people knowing your name and address? I mean it's in the phone book so go post your stuff on here. Why would you not want to do so bro?
Am i the only one that always thought that phone authenticator in steam and others are retarded?
I mean what if your phone get stolen , you forget it somewhere, you break it and all other accidents that can happens. You lose access to all your shit which is very retarded. It is not like an email. If your email info are leaked it is mostly your fault for using a risky network or giving them to others....
You locked yourself out of your own account through your own retardation, and now want to blame everyone but yourself. Yikes.
You mean, for me to forge it and give it to paypay? I just want to buy stupid game bundles with my paypal I'm not putting in that kind of effort. As far as I know this limits me from getting or withdrawing payments but I have a card linked to it anyway.
Don't give blizzard your ID DONT FUCKING DO IT, they do not delete this shit unless you email them forcing them or sue. They most likely got hacked already and they will take all those IDs with them.
Or you are just a corporate bootlicker.
I think there are options if you lost your device. Your account is linked to your phone number not the device specifically. In case you lose access to your device or it gets stolen you should go to your carrier and report it, get a new SIM with the same number and then you should be good to go.
>using an mfa app
Don't you usually get a "key" consisting of a string of characters? I don't have many but I remember it for things like GW2 and my you can use said key to set up a new authenticator if you want or need.
Proofs?
what do you think is going to happen?
blizzard is going to ask for his entire social security number and original driver's license and a hacker is going to steal his identity or something?
They already have your name, address, and payment information if you play the game.
I know you people don't go outside but cashiers also do this thing where you have to hand them your ID.
Not the case with authenticators, they are linked to the phone itself so it's harder to retrieve your shit if something happens to it, but it's safe from SIM spoofing at least.
God, remember when you took internet safety classes in middle school and teachers told you you shouldn't even put your fucking address on the internet?
Now all zoomers are like this and have no problem putting sensitive personal information like their fucking social security number on the internet.
if your system isnt open source its compromised
They already know your name and address you fucking child.
Holy fuck we're living in an Orwellian future.
>Need I'd picture for a fucking account.
This literally already happened with other corporations, why would fucking Blizzard be safe from hackers?
You can easily use SMS verify instead of the authenticator to get into your account. Unless you're trying to break into someone elses account, in which case fuck off
This thread is garbage. Y'all are the reason theres no such thing as personal security anymore. Fuck it send em your id i dont give a shit
>Y'all
Blizzard accounts can resale for hundreds to thousands of dollars, of course they're going to protect your account with an id. Facebook even requires it sometimes and those accounts are absolutely worthless
Got a problem
It is. The only requirement there should be for removing 2FA is one final 2FA check. Imagine having to give them your ID just to change your password.
You can black out everything except your name faggot
My country’s ID has the equivalent of a social security number on it and literally no one but the government has the authority to ask you for it, like fuck I am trusting some mutts with it.
Yeah, keep your nigger fetish where I don't have to see it.
This is why I don't have a Facebook either. Shits scary.
Nah, You are just another mouthbreathing retard.
nobody has been able to provide a single argument for why having to show a business your ID (something you are regularly asked in brick and mortar businesses) is bad other than MUH ORWELLIAN FUCHURE and FUCKING ZOOMERS
>He thinks sending people your driver's license will somehow cause a personal security problem.
Well the way I understand it they send you an SMS to your phone to authorize that it's you. When you first do that by entering your SMS code in the authenticator it generates a code and you need to write down and you can use that code to deauthorize the device/number. One time I deleted my app and when I redownloaded it I needed to reverify it with a new SMS, I'm guessing in case I lost my device it's the same, a second verification SMS, as long as you own your phone number and it's not a pre-paid SIM.
Can they receive SMS with a spoofed SIM?
Post yours in this thread right now or you're just some faggot saying stupid shit
>personal security
>state issued ID
huh
nice false equivalence retard, a business which has legally binding privacy clauses is not the same as posting it in Yea Forums
If you genuinely don't see any issue with giving Acti-Blizz, a company co-owned by Tencent, your ID, you're unironically retarded and hopefully underage, as no grown-ass man should be this fucking dumb.
Your ID has no information on it they don't already have, you have no argument
>The system is fundamentally shit
Not as bad as Linux's shitty UI though
>he doesnt run w10 enterprise
oh no my state issued ID with important information such as my name
this is truly 100 times worse than MY FULL CREDIT CARD INFO
>people worried somebody about sharing personal info
lmao what personal info retards you guys are all a bunch of social outcasts with nothing worth shit to your name, hell all you probably have is your name to begin with
nobody wants to impersonate your sorry asses or steal your non-existant money and belongings, that's how fucking sad you individuals are
which businesses even ask for ID if they arent required by some law because age limits or gun licenses
kek
H U H ?
>he thinks giving someone your email will somehow cause a personal security problem
>he thinks backing up your photos on the cloud will will somehow cause a personal security problem
>he thinks giving someone name, address, date of birth, photo, licence number and possibly biometric data will somehow cause a personal security problem
200IQ
Hey buddy, we swear we won't use you ID for anything, trust us. You do trust your fellow channers more than fucking Blizzard, don't you? ;)
>whataboutism
Yes, giving them your credit card info is also retarded, additionally providing them your photo - even more so, well done.
so this is the reason why ATMs and EFTPOS machines take fucking forever now. It's because they all use the shitty glow in the dark nigger software
any business where you want to pay with your credit or debit card
Your photo is so valuable and precious, except its available freely for most people on social media sites
Are you fucking deaf or just retarded?
If you're a dumb dumb and forgot to sign the back of your card they may ask
It’s illegal for shops to ask for your ID here except in special circumstances like guns
I've been using battle net with a fake name and address for 12 years, never got asked about my ID. What are you faggots on about.
>y-you’re all losers like me, r-r-right?
I may be an autistic shut in, but I have a lot of shit to my name, thanks
just use cash like normal people
OP is trying to steal someones account and upset they're asking him for an id
what the fuck can they do with a driver's license you fucking mong?
a liquor store can do more with your ID than a video game company
>need an ID to play a video game
Dystopian.
>u
>ur
Yeah, underaged confirmed.
You're directly providing their databse with your info, the fact that your photo is available somewhere else on the internet is of no relevance.
dont they get your full ID when you use the plastic card with the smart chip?
Because giving your name, address, DOB, and license number is really going to matter when the company already has your name, address, and DOB.
So go ahead and post it here, why don't you?
>social media sites
Ohnoitsretarded.tiff
For what, Classic?
You don't have to buy anything and nothing transfers from old accounts. Just make a new account, dimwit.
So then go ahead and post it here, what's the problem? I mean fuck keeping your personal information as close as possible, right?
I remember being in the same situation for something else blizzard related
Why do they need in-depth identification?
>Not having any social media accounts because you're an irredeemable shut in
Note I said 'most people', ie not you, because I knew some asocial neckbeard was going to ackshually me
Because (you) don't already know my name and address you fucking child. You idiots are so fucking dumb with posts like these you'll be robbed blind without anyone needing your dumbshit ID anyway, so I don't know why you're even worried about it.
How else are they going to get proof that it's the account's owner trying to remove the authenticator? Why do you even want to remove it in the first place?
>Have to give corporations your ID, SS, and other information to get hired
>This underaged user makes a thread because he got locked out of his account and now has to show his driver’s license (with just the name at that too) to get it back
If you've got nothing to hide then there shouldn't be a problem.
Because it's not his account and he's pissed he can't break into it
Why do you care when other people know your information? You love giving it away to anyone who is big enough without a thought. You are just a pussy.
I don’t know about your bank, but mine doesn’t make you give them mugshots and fingerprints and then broadcast your social security and all the other shit associated with your ID number
this is your fault for falling for the authenticator meme
>If you don't use social media like me then you're a shut in
Absolutely pathetic. You need to go back
i have social medias account, but i literally have no photos of ke on there.
i preefer seing people irl or actually calling them by phone.
social medias were a mistake that separates us, not the other way around.
>show a copy of your ID so that the dude in the customer support can see that the info matches up with whatever you already told them when you created the account
>"MUH CORPORATIONS SELL MY INFO TO CHINA"
Not sure if ESL or regular mutt, but here goes
>your photo is so valuable and precious, except its available freely for most people on social media sites
This means the photo of is available for most people to find through your social media.
> most people’s photo is so valuable and precious, except its available freely on social media sites
This means that most people have their photos freely available to be found on social media.
With this level of literacy, it comes as no surprise you see no issue with handing over your ID to random corporations.
Blizzard is in bed with China. They want your ID so they can put you in their social credit program. Your social credit tanks if you play video games too often. Once China takes over you're fucked for the rest of your life
>Accusing others of ESL when your post is borderline unintelligible to a native speaker
Yes user people generally do have a passport photo as their profile picture, after all
we really do live in a society
Ok, Pedro
fake but cool
has blizzard had a data breach yet? its hard to keep track of which tech companies have
My battle.net's name is Uchiha Madara.
Never had a problem
>he doesn't know
It doesn't matter why put your chips on the table in the first place? You're betting that they won't get hacked, except it's not a bet when you can win something, you can only lose.
At those stores you simply flash your ID, not give them a digital copy for them to forever keep on file and share with Tencent
>American thinks the whole world either speaks English or Spanish
I never added an authenticator for my Blizzard account and nothing has ever happened to it.
Could you be any more retarded
the moment i knew the authenticator would lock you out if you ever:
>lost access to your phone
>uninstalled the app without disabling the service first
>forgot your number
made be scramble to get it off as fast as i could
Nope, you’re missing a few things here:
>usually every authenticator system gives you backup codes to use for access if you lose your auth device
>it’s not called 2-factor authentication for nothing: even if someone gets your phone, it’s only one piece of the puzzle, they still need your password
Tbf, anyone who even tries to take care of their security personally doesn't need it. If you use different passwords everywhere and don't input your account into any shady sites, the chance to get your account cracked is slim.
Quit being reasonable, dilating incel.
no they don't. Blizzard still thinks I'm from germany
>I-I s-s-swear I have belongings
It's clear you don't
It doesn't work that way, you can remove it SMS verification. So unless you forget your number AND lose your phone AND uninstall the authenticator, you can't lose access. And even then you can call support and get it removed.
Not having an authenticator is retarded, it's impossible to lose access to your account unless you're not actually the account holder or doing account sharing or some shit against the TOS.
>muh evil corporations
>it's about le message
>c-c-corporate b-bootlickers..
>muh precious identity
quality thread, really amusing
What the absolute fuck? I paid with my parents cards since I was 14 and no one ever asked me for an id.
>can't even answer the question
There's no point in even having an authenticator. There's an option you can select where whenever you log in from a new location they text you a code to log in and then it saves that IP address.
Blizz has always used state ID to unlock authenticators. It's to stop people from stealing your account. But why does it even matter? Just make a new account for classic. It's not like you're going to play retail and you definitely don't have any friends.
I added an identificator and still got my account somehow hijacked by somebody when I stopped playing. Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Turdzzar actually sold dormant accounts to chinks.
The problem is that people in general are horrible on estimating their ability yo stay secure. Literally nobody will admit that ”gee I’m a gullible idiot, better take some precautions”, even the worst smuck thinks that he knows his shit and it’s only the other idiots who get breached. I’d be willing to bet that the people who need 2FA the most are in general the ones least likely to use it.
FUCK Activision for even thinking this is acceptable. We really are at a point where quitting gaming is the safest option. Blizzard had multiple "hacks" in the past where customer data was "leaked". They announced it months after it happened.
Just use your backup key.
Are you retarded?
What does the phrase y'all have to do with niggers you fucking moron?
>you definitely don't have any friends.
This definitely isn't projection from a friendless loser. Nope. No way no how.
personally, i dont even bother with privacy measures anymore
because i work for chinese google and they probably have all my info regardless
seriously, i look up reviews of how bad x app or tool is and i find out they send info to the same company i work for anyway who already by default combs through all my
Because having a scanned copy of your ID makes it possible for someone to apply for credit cards online.
hey hey people
>because i work for chinese google
What's your security clearance level? Post stories.
poor user, want me to be your friend?
Do Americans really?
im nowhere near that level, just imagine a cartoonishly big megacorporation that spans many countries. but they employ the same micromanaging and employee control
if it was google, imagine having google groceries, google hardware, google appliances. i work somewhere down that line
>wants to get his identity stolen
Internet friends aren't real
H U H ?
i knew all semblance of personal life i had was gone when they changed all employee tools from freely choosing skype, gmail, microsft email and etc. and everything and anything we used for work was replaced by strictly chinese made first party software. with multiple layers of verification. you not only needed to ask your immediate boss for something, but a different guy from a higher department all the way in china still has final say regarding what happens
Depends, do you hate niggers, TRANNIES and especially jannies? (also jews)
So wait, 4chins isnt blocked in china? Or are you on vpn?
>go to bank to make a withdrawal
>everything going smoothly
>"okay sir, I'll just need to see your Id to finalize this."
>spit in the dumb cunts face
> call her a boot licker and scream about China finding out your personal info
Wow, very cool.
im not in china famsquad
theyre spreading their influence to other countries. you might not notice it but they love buying out smaller companies
No
Oh damn, i see.
kill yourself.
You gotta be a troll if you think a bank and a video game company are the same.
Dude, it's your fucking ID. How else are they gonna verify you? If you're so fucking concerned with remaining anonymous just cut your losses like a big boy and make a new account.
Lmao, why are Americans so afraid and insecure? 9/11 happened almost two decades ago. Let go already.
What about that guy who used Gamestop as his personal bank?
Give them your passport image or something, hell, give them an image of your birth certificate.
Better yet, show them your driving license. Its already seen by police and others a bunch. They obviously need it to verify its you that's changing the account.
I do think the way that support is done with Blizzard is fucking retarded though, actively needing an account to make a ticket (AKA, they don't have separate support accounts) is very stupid. Even Bethesda figured that out.
t. timmy tencent
They don't check the ID you upload, I just put a picture of lindybeige and got my account back no problem
>You wouldn't post your ID on an anonymous website with hundreds of users of questionable morality, so you must understand why letting a customer support rep see it is so bad!
Aren't most Battle.net games online-only? How do you pirate an online-only game?
Yep.
I went to an interview for a local food processing plant here in Massachusetts and THEY'RE owned by the Chinese too.
Wait a second. I just realized something. For them to want your ID that means they want to match your name and information to the one they already have to prove that it's you. But why would they have that information in the first place? And if you gave fake info then you're fucked aren't you?
I literally play with friends from work, fucking lol, seethe and project more
no
>But why would they have that information in the first place?
For security reasons like this.
>And if you gave fake info then you're fucked aren't you?
Most likely, yeah. If you can't prove your identity then they won't do anything.
Yep. That's why I just email my authenticator retrieval code to myself. If someone hacks my Gmail, I have way more to worry about than some stupid World of Warcraft characters.
What's the point of having an ID if not to prove you are you, you fucking retard?
I went through this support system this morning, no I'm not OP, so I can tell you how it went.
From what I gathered, they'll need a Government issued ID.
This means that a birth certificate or a passport will work. Same with a driving license I guess. I think they want a valid ID that would match up with some information related to the account. For me, I deleted my email account tied to the account. Then again, I couldn't login even though I had the right password, they wanted a security question or email confirmation. That means they'd match at least one thing from it up to the account details. That, or they're just looking for any Valid ID you've taken yourself.
I remember doing something similar to my Facebook. Used Goose and I got banned. So now I can't even access my work projects.
>Trusting any company with any information
Boot licker
I've been living off the grid for 30 years, you sheep are pathetic.
If China takes over you're already fucked in much worse ways.
Oi mate! Ya got a loicense fer dat game?
lol, look at the fucking hitboxes of that people.
I've seen this at the local Wal-Mart self check out area
>2019
>having Blizzturd account
>Back to piracy for me
>Hur dur blaming everyone but yourself
ok user
The id exist for your country to archive your persona and for taxes, slave
