How would you fix WoW, Yea Forums?

by killing it

How to fix 'Warlocks.'
>De-prune the class as shown in the picture. There' enough abilities to make 120 levels interesting. Really, there is for each class, which is why each 'How to fix' includes this. None of the specs surpass the 36 keyboard buttons available at the button of the screen (for button mashers), especially since many can be put in an 'out of combat' bar or the stealth bar.
>Make most abilities class-universal. Have players pick a specialization that gives them different abilities down the road. Reintroduce talent trees that have passive effects and transform abilities for levels you don't get a new ability. Let people sample between the three talent trees despite their specialization.
>Go back to having people have to train for their abilities.

Attached: Warlocks.png (665x597, 75K)

At this point ending the entirety of WoW would be a mercy kill, please make it happen Activision.. I'll buy your cod games from now on :(

How to fix 'Hunters.'
>Differentiate between hunters and rogues more by having hunters use mana again.
>Let hunters use melee and ranged weapons. However, hunters can no longer use ranged attacks up close and once again have a dead area to avoid.
>Bring back feeding pets, however it only acts as a 'Well Fed' type buff as opposed to a necessary thing.

Attached: Hunters.png (461x807, 63K)

By putting it out of its misery.

Reward longtime players with content that adds on to previous content, ramping up difficulty and making consistent, rewarding gameplay.
Lore wise, keep the theming across expansions, stop ramping up power levels etc
Graphics wise, the engine might need to be overhauled, its too old to support decent graphics.
the music is still pretty good at times

How to fix 'Rogues.'
>Go back to having combo points be put onto the TARGET rather than yourself. Everyone right now has some form of combo points (soulshards, insanity, etc). At least this would make it different again.

Attached: Rogues.png (441x825, 56K)

Retcon the entire thing with some timey-vimey bullshit and make Warcraft IV

Limit servers to 1000 players
You can only play on one server
All forums are server specific, only viewable if you play on that server

By supporting every expansion simultaneously

Make the world and gear matter again. Stop with the scaling and pvp stat template memes. Remove titanforging and personal loot. Remove raid difficulties, bring back linear raid progression. Start here. Also force realm merges to get 50/50 populations. Realms like EU-Ragnaros are a fucking disgrace, shit has like 99,99% horde population.

>6 people per zone if EVERYONE was online

you undo the entirety of wow, which would incidentally not only fix wow and blizzard, but also the mmo genre as a whole.

-WoW was ultimately blizzard's downfall because it made them believe every project they'd start would have the booming success of WoW, which was actually a massive gamble. they joined activision because scrapping titan after years left them on their knees. and now activision is devouring them.
- WoW was always the cancer of MMOs, if you weren't a late boomer/early zoomer with no prior knowledge of mmos. it was the fortnite of arena games. the only thing it did to the genre is introduce casual carebears who progressively demanded to take out mmo elements one by one. you may think the casualization of WoW happened somewhere between wotlk and retail, but WoW's casualization started from its very conception. Kern himself openly stated so, and besides, it was evident if you just compared it to other titles in the market.
- the entire mmo audience shifted into wow players, thinking an mmo is a singleplayer game in which you can decide to party up sometimes. this killed the core and the very purpose of the genre - no surprise arena titles just overtook mmos as mmos just became less optimized arena games, thanks to the wow design principle. so, you happen to hate the mobas? mmos dying contributed to it, ironically, which is WoW's fault, again

tl;dr WoW has been a shitstain for the industry as a whole, and the fact you think it was at any point a good thing is why you'll never see a good mmo again.

>All MMOs should have to be a lifestyle and take 13 hours a day to maintain

Remove AP grinding and make split raids useless so I can get back to hardcore mythic raiding again.

what is the best classic class?

hunter and druid

WoW 2 is launched, set in an alternate universe where WoW 1 never happened.

Warrior, Mage, Rogue, Priest. The classic RPG classes.

Pretend that content after Ulduar never happened and start from there.

>Paladin
>Hunter
>Not classic RPG classes
Zoom zoom go home.

>Keeping dungeon finder
>Keeping draenei
>Keeping blood elves

Attached: 1561088845598.jpg (720x912, 102K)

Cross server automated dungeon finder only came with ICC, the dungeon finder tool before that wasn't as bad.

>how to spot a zoomer larping as a boomer
Fighter, thief, wizard, cleric is the standard classic RPG composition from old school D&D. This is what WoW is derived from.

whats the story? whos' the villian?

>In the original Dungeons & Dragons boxed set, there were only three main classes: the Cleric, the Fighting man, and the Magic-User. The first supplement, Greyhawk, added the Thief as a fourth main class, as well as the Paladin as a Fighting Man subclass.

will classic kill bfa?

I wish, but no.

>priests are clerics

Attached: 1566194787563.jpg (600x900, 117K)

The easiest fix is remove the insta-reward dopamine rushes. If your game can be built around a slow progress system while being enjoyable without catering to lil' zoom's 3 second attention span then you have the makings of a great mmo.

are you retarded? the old combo point system was absolute fucking garbage
just ask any unholy dk right now how SHITTY old combo points are

>Turn WoW into a singleplayer game
>Forget retail lore and make it non-canon. Start from vanilla again.
>Remove all the tedious MMO stuff
>Add in mod support
If Bethesda can release a singleplayer shovelware every year and still make record profits, so why can't Blizzard do the same?

Attached: 15279192614460.jpg (628x511, 199K)

top kek imagine thinking being forced to party at every single step of the game was somehow better design
you probably never even played everquest you fucking zoomer

>Retcon WoW into an alternate reality.
>Dump Goulding and the rest in the WoW containment zone.
>Hire actually competent writers and people who have a lot of experience in videogames.
>Make WarCraft IV that will be the canon sequel to WCIII.
>Reforged is considered canon to WoW only, so it's dumped into the WoW containment zone, while the original WCIII and TFT are the real deals.

Wait for it. Acti-Blizz is losing more and more due to Kotick's incompetence.

ITT
>PAST GOOD, NOW BAD

Attached: 1566090024982.png (431x428, 22K)

yep, tried playing unholy DK
why in the world did they make festering wounds (basically combo points) be per target instead on character himself
they saw rogue/feral and thought
>"this feels bad lets make it on character"
but completely ditched the idea for unholy

>Kotick's incompetence
Kotick is very unlikely to ever be replaced, he understand which dragon they need to chase after next. He'll continue firing the community manager trannies to shore up the hard working cis men so they can get creative again.

Why unholy dk

It's too late at this point. Way too late to fix anything.

I've already made this post a million times here but
>Orcs win WC2 instead of humans
Like Lothar died but humans won, this time Orgrim dies but orcs win.
Orcs are in a position of superiority but too divided to destroy all humans. Clans are split on how to deal with them, and Frostwolves want peace.
Half of Lordaeron survives, young Arthas is king.
Alterac is not only alive but actually the strongest human kingdom.

This shit basically writes itself.

Nice idea.

i've straight up quit retail because of it i didnt even think BFA was that bad, worse than legion but not by much
i just cant stand another expansion with festering wounds, first they killed blood dps then they killed frost 2h which i admit i only played for a bit before rerolling to unholy because it was more fun to play i actually miss necrotic plague had so much fun with it
because Festering wounds the specs major mechanic is literally old rogue combo points.

unironically great idea.

no it isnt, by a long shot. we still get good games made by a handful of people. you think blizzard can't pull something out of its ass if they got a group of guys together and just told them "do whatever"

>fix
euthanasia of course

no. orgrim is the most based orc in the entire lore
him charging out of blackrock spire with his elite ogre guards to catch the alliance in a surprise attack and then having a titanic 1 on 1 dual against lothar was pure kino
but then blizzard ruined it with the MUH HOLY LIGHT ass pull they use for everything

Stop playing mmos in the first place because the genre is garbage Play Good single player games and support those instead

Attached: 23635516 1.jpg (1440x1440, 863K)

>rewind mechanics to either classic, BC, or WotLK (even wrath had more fun RPG and MMO mechanics than current WoW)
>remove LFG, LFR, anything cross-realm
>merge servers to make realms feel more full, attempt to balance out servers that have a huge horde or alliance slant
>retcon all lore to classic, make everything after fan fiction/alternate universe/whatever
>revery all "updated" dungeons and raids to their original format
>remove having 4 difficulties per raid. Only have one, or at absolute maximum, have 2 (one for PUGs, one for guilds).
>keep level cap stable, even new xpacs don't raise the level cap
>every raid tier, introduce new gear and tier sets, but don't automatically invalidate the previous tier (IE on live, many times it is better to have LFR current tier sets then heroic last tier sets)
>only introduce catch-up mechanics at the start of new xpacs. new raid tiers should not make previous raid tiers pointless to run outside of transmogs
>never introduce transmog
>never introduce flying, or at least keep it zone specific
>make 10 man dungeons a thing again. it helps prepare low level/geared people new to MMOs how to raid at end game
>make spells and abilities feel unique. class homogenization is easier to balance but boring to play.
>remove base building mechanics (WoD garrison, Legion class hall)
>incentivize people to go out into the world for more than just WQs. crafting materials should not ever be buyable with FotM currencies
>War Mode is a cool feature in theory. This is one of the few features I would keep from post-WotLK WoW. On PvP realms, instead of bonus xp, make it grant some other kind of bonus (possibly honor, or materials, or gold). everyone is already open to PvP on these realms, it would be redundant
>reintroduce dishonorable kills. its unfun leveling a character and getting ganked for hours by someone max level who's too shit at PvP to go to max level zones or BGs.
>take Ian onto the stage at next Blizzcon, execute him

very easy to fix uhdk
>festering wounds now gather on your minion(or yourself), dealing damage to your current target when burst
frost dk needs another low cd spell, less focus on breath, increase to pillar of frost cd and it will be good
having spec that does almost no damage outside of its cooldown feels like ass

>never introduce transmog
People's armor makes me insecure. T-trannies! TRANNIES! … T-transmog… transgender... I-I'm totally not transgendered. F-fucking trannies... a-and their m-mogs...

Attached: 1565398095218.png (231x218, 9K)

was your goal to be the bigger retard, or what?

Simply moving the wounds to the dk would fuck it up in aoe, even though setting them up for aoe does feel like complete ass, and so does swapping targets. Imo unholy just needs more ways to apply them faster and more consistently, and not some rng maybe shit applies maybe it doesn't trash.

>Kotick's incompetence.
He's the best thing that ever happened to them, financially speaking.

It was to farm (You)'s.
>But he looks retarded!
They don't care about the image they project, they care about the attention they receive, regardless of its form.

>More orcshit

Attached: 1458576907293.jpg (640x480, 38K)

simply make it so festering wounds explode in aoe and scale the damage, das all

Popping exploding wounds on a stack of mobs dealing a billion dps is amazing tho, but everything before and after that is pure cancer. They should make bursting sores baseline, maybe decrease the dmg a bit, but also add more aids to spread and deal with. Why the fuck are gargoyle, epidemic, soul eater and unholy blight talents you have to opt in to use, just make that shit baseline.

>titanic 1 on 1 duel against lothar
>

>remove mythic+ dungeons
>remove raid difficulties, make almost all bosses heroic difficulty, make the last ~3 bosses mythic difficulty, have as many hard modes possible a la Ulduar
>make raids Flex, 10~40 people, optimized for 15
>balance the game towards PVP, then give some abilities that would never work in PVP properly because players aren't punching bags to up the DPS of classes with lower DPS
>scaling between raids ilvl/stats is very very tiny, biggest bump is on secondary stats
>bring back reforging
I have some ideas for WPVP but I'd have to elaborate on them

have someone not activision-blizzard obtain the property, nuke retail, use a polished classic/tbc era style of content as a jumping off point. Focus on things that encourage community interaction and not metrics. Listen to the fans but don't compromise what makes the game enjoyable. Remove dungeon and raid finder and keep a system like LFG where you pick who joins your group manually. Remove cross realm zones and sharding/layering.
Any of these things, especially the last two would improve the game in my eyes.

>start from vanilla
>BC
>WRATH
>don't remove talent trees and talent points, they turned them into 3 branches and it was stupid.
I remember everyone wanting a South seas expansion exploring the places that existed in lore. As well as dragonsworn as a class. Instead we got cata and pandas.

Which version? Modern WoW is pretty much beyond saving and the amount of changes it would need to list is massive. Classic is not without it's issues though biggest thing there I would say is better class balance and spec viability but the problem is that's what lead to what we have now. Every class is so homogeneous and classes have completely lost their identity. The fact they had to remove first aid entirely because every class has some sort of self sustain even further supports that point. They need to look back on Classic and understand what made each class unique raid composition means jack shit. Make leveling meaningful again instead of so pointless you sell fucking boosts for it. Remove cross server shit (other than BGs maybe) bring things back to a point where people need to interact and make servers meaningful. Problem is none of that will happen. Blizz is pretty much going to end up at a point like Jagex is with Runescape. They are keeping the modern game around and updating it to appease people who still like and are paying but I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up like OSRS. People are sick of the modern MMO formula they are practically single player games where you see other people play the same single player game. People want the MMO aspect back in MMORPGs.

tl;dr is that they need to look back at Classic and why people wanted it so much, take lessons from that and implement it into the main game. Taking a step back is not always a bad thing especially when that's what people might want.

Go back to MoP codebase and start over from there.
Never implement ability pruning, 20man only raids, personal only loot.

PVP vendors
PVP resilience
PVP power
That'll do her.

>Remove paid character boosts
>Remove heirlooms
>Keep the talent structure there is now
>Squish level cap back to 60
>Retune all the previous xpac zones to be leveling zones with a modified scaling to extend the life of individual zones (but not so far that you level the whole way with every single mob at your level)
>Retune popular previous raids to be 10 mans that drop blues with the item level of a corresponding raid tier
>Make raiding a linear experience again instead of playing the patch

revert every class to its mists of pandaria incarnation with some extra abilities for levels above 90
i have just fixed world of warcraft

bfa will kill bfa

based and pandapilled
god i just want a MOP server. fuck boomer classic shit, just skip to the good stuff

>Make raiding a linear experience again instead of playing the patch
This is my biggest problem with modern WoW. This was also my biggest complaint with FFXIV and the major reason I quit playing it. Honestly though I've thought about this with Classic in the event the ever decide to add new content to it. I just have no idea how they would pull this off. Eventually you would reach a point where there is so many raid tiers it would just get absurd.

The dungeon finder tool prior to Icecrown never, ever got used. Just like in-game voice chat.

well yea thats exactly my point
being shit except in super specific situation is not that fun imo
and yea too many abilities are talents
frost syche for frost for example
i think current talent system with tons of active spells is shit
they need to make all talents passive that greatly modify your existing abilities, chains of ice stacking talent for example, or unhdk shadow claw
its dumb when half of my bars are empty because im not aoe specced or w/e

Hi blizz*rd,
Take over activision
Gas boby kotick
Fire all sjw and jews
Bring only talented and passionate people into game design
Bring back MoP class design
Delete rp and rpvp servers
IPban everyone on moonguard(first step to clean the trash)
IPban erpers
Delete pandas worgen kultiran humans
Finish the classes that we are still mising like blademaster

But if you want something easy, just bring back MoP class design and gameplay. Done.

>divorce from ActiJews
>don't try to make a game for everyone, find your target audience and stick to it
It's pipe dream though. Most realistic suggestion is probably pristine realms - no LFG/LFR, no cross-server shit, no casino loot, no cash shop, one difficulty. Even this sounds unrealistic because huge chunk of WoW revenue comes from whales nowadays.

Maybe it's time to let it die.

>Making Ulduar a ZG styled raid for your preraid gear

A crushing majority of their stuff these days doesn't have the thing people used to buy from them.

Make classes more fun
Add cool looking items that require some sort of effort to obtain early, like Challenge Mode and Mage Tower.

It worked just fine as a way to set a few dungeons you were interested in running, and make it visible for other potential players and groups without having to sit in a city and spam a channel.
As long as people actually communicate with each other while forming groups, instead of just brainlessly spamming invites around until a full group forms up out of random players from random servers it doesn't really matter how it's done.

my hot takes:
>Remove everything after vanilla
>perma cap to 60, no level raise. Not even after various patches
>add 'expansions' as patches rather than completely new installments
>so the burning crusade will just be a patch like naxxramas, but here we get to open a dark portal into Outland
>new zones can be used as 50-60 leveling
>never ever introduce flying, even in outland, northrend, etc.
>redesign Outland, Northrend so it doesn't suck ass
>unfuck the lore shit that TBC did.
>unfuck the voice acting and rehire WC3 voice actors (and sound engineers)
>Add Dragon Isles nigga
>never ever add arenas
>make 40 man raids the main meme just like in vanilla, with 10 and 20/25 man as well. Just mix it up like ZG or Kara.
>fuck the min/maxers, aim for the real adventurers
>make 'older' raids still relevant through different means.
>no 'heroic' modes in raids. Maybe in dungeons, but model it after tbc and early cata
>make early bosses in raids doable for casuals and increase the difficulty as you progress through it. So casuals and hardcore raiders can benefit from the same content.
>remove belfs from horde. As well as goblins and pandas.
>readd fun class quirks
>no trannymog

Make WoW 2. They need a fresh start.
