So this is the power of modern video games

I don't really see a need for Trigger Warnings when "Viewer discretion is advised" have been a thing in movies and vidya since forever, and its doing the same job.

It's not like this is new. Only the faggy terminology.

this game contains scenes of explicit food eating and suicide mentions

I wouldn't care if it wasn't pretty much content spoilers.

I like how no one cares about the term "content warning" but "trigger warning" is ironically enough to get a lot of people triggered.

...

trigger warnings trigger me

It's to prevent some kind of people of things they might not want to see, like blood, suicide, that stuff.
Some people are quite sensitive about these things so it "needs" a more specific warning than the usual "viewer discretion advised".
I don't really mind it as long as it doesn't spoil shit.

this shit was the seal of quality for true gamers back in the day.

>Warning: Some parts of the game has heterosexuality subtle content

>start game
>game spoils you someone is going to kill itself
>uninstall game

WTF BROS THEY'VE GONE SJW

>this game contains scenes of explicit violence and gore
Damn right it was

No, it was marketing bullshit. Capcom slapped that on every RE game and almost none of the RE games were actually all that explicit or gory. The first RE game was fucking censored. They removed all the violence and gore initially and yet still kept that warning screen.

But there usually are disclaimers like a "Warning, this game has themes of violence, abuse, self harm" etc.

>game presents a situation in which I can learn from and grow as a person regarding past trauma
>NOPE I'M JUST TRIGGERED

>refunded
Thank you developer for saving me money

Sure that works too.
I don't really care if they say "content warning" or "trigger warning" it's the same either way, but it seems like some people are getting worked up about it.

"Trigger warning" is pretty much exclusively a tumblr SJW term. It tells you a lot about the mindset of the person who wrote the warning.

>Trigger warning
>Game has romantic scenes involving same sex couples
>Game has transgender characters
>Game has interracial relationships

I demand these be added to all future trigger warnings so I can avoid witnessing faggotry

Literally why not just call it "sensitive content warning" or as this guy said, "Viewer discretion is advised".

doesn't necessarily mean it has much to do with the dev

they add those kind of things after someone complained, and the ones that complain just happen to be those people and they're going to describe it as such

as far as the devs are concerned it's often just a harmless addition to shut some people up

the difference is that they now spoil you the content because fags apparently cant just ask someone else if the stuff they want to avoid is in the game

People get upset about it because "triggering" should only be happening to people with PTSD, but nowadays a bunch of young SJWs claim they're getting triggered when all that's happening is they see something they don't like and decide to throw a fit about it.

Don't you get "triggered" if you've got an issue with blood or have suicidal tendencies and have that kind of things shown to you?

It’s funny, I can usually tell by the art syle or the way the devs talk about their game that it will be full of that garbage. I mostly just get jap games and don’t need to discern it as much though I think they’re starting to crack too.
