>Over 50,000 Closed Alpha players
>Only ~18,000 responded in the survey
They really should have sent that survey earlier or made it clear where/when it was going to be available.

Looks great. I can't wait to see young Nobunaga and Hideyoshi in this shit.

no wirriam sama no buy

Girl, just make your own William

I was just thinking about this game today, when are they going to announce a release date? or maybe another alpha/beta?

>timed PS4 exclusive again
I kinda expected them to do a multiplat release this time, after the success of Nioh on PC, but I guess we'll just have to wait again. Hopefully they'll include all the DLCs for free again, that was a nice touch.

Those retards sent codes to people who had never played Nioh, or had played for 10 mins only. Fuck them.

Looks like they're planning something for TGS next month so I'd expect news sometime then

>finally get around to using ki pulses on a new playthrough in Nioh 1
>neat
>but also realize how often you’re ‘rewarded’ because human enemies generally step back while you’re pulsing, queuing up for another beatdown
>customary to use for the oni circles
I hope it’s more fun to use in the sequel, kinda just feels like they put a Gears of War styled ‘active reload’ on my stamina bar.

currently playing nioh for the first time.

the fuck is wrong with this game, it's jank as fuck. who thought this giant slime boss was a good idea.

>I also wanted to thank you and briefly let you know that we had a really productive alpha demo session back in May/June of this year. Over 50,000 players took part in this closed demo worldwide and nearly 18,000 participants responded to our survey afterwards!
FFFUUUCCCKKKKK YYYYOOOOUUUUU

did you light up the 3 lanterns around the map?

conquered

This image brings me back back to middle 2000 where half of the action games had a main character with "dark" and "demonic" half.

I got you, senpai.

Thank god Nioh 2 is a thing after Shitkiro was a total disappointment. Everytime I played that game I wish I was playing this one instead

Sekiro and Nioh complimented each other perfectly imho, although Sekiro was crazy more polished and memorable. I’ve spent the same amount of time in both and I can’t remember the name of anything in Nioh.

>Devil May Cringe fan likes Shtikiro
Figures

more like Nioh 1.5

more like Nioh 1.1

Haven’t played DMC but Sekiro is a good game. Maybe you just really like to dress up. I don’t blame you, it hits a lot of the right endorphins, but I can enjoy a game without it.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy those days, sure it borders on being cringy or edgy now but back then and even now I just can't help but think how cool it is/was.

>after the success of Nioh on PC
Did you just make this up

That was an amazing boss and area in general. Wtf is wrong with you

No iirc the PC version sold fairly well for a game with a 9 month delay and is currently the only definitive version of nioh 1

Art direction are rubbish

LIDL sekiro/souls

is this sekiro?

found the retarded consolekid/poorfag

I wanted to play the alpha too but the system of playstation sending out the emails never works for me and many other people.

Had they send out alpha codes like with nioh 1 they would have had more people playing it.

not him, but do you have any stats for nioh selling well on pc?
I'm pretty sure we literally don't know how well it did.

>all those games
you mean literally just PoP Two Thrones?

between 500k to 1m according to steamspy

Fuck off From-shill

Still not sure if I should rush through 1 before 2 comes out

That art just really makes me want a new Onimusha.

2 doesn't even have a release date yet.

I wasnt able to pass the third boss in Nioh
Guess Im too old for this shit now

Was the survey supposed to be in the same email as the code or was it in some follow up email? I wanted to take it but didn’t know where.

The first two are harder though.

Nue?
That one is easy, can be easily stunned when he does his laser attack.

It was a follow up email iirc it came a day or two after the alpha ended. Looked something like this.

Attached: Nioh Feedback email.png (600x953, 818K)

I hope ppl asked for a boob slider

There is one I think.

Jak 2/3, metroid prime 3 and Devil may cry 3 come to mind.

The demo was fucking great. I love the new Odachi parry, as well as the new sheath slap attack on the Katana. The only thing I didn't like is that the "Yokai Realm" stamina drain was just a bit too much. It made fighting the giant snake boss a complete pain in the ass because of how slowly your stamina regenerates.

Otherwise, I'm really excited for the game. The only thing I don't like about this game is that it's a fucking prequel. I want to see more of what William and Hanzo did. And surely Maria didn't just give up at the end of the 3rd DLC? What happened to their conflict after that?

Oh huh my bad it slipped my mind. The alpha was just presets so I actually forgot to check the character creation screen for what things they had available, there might have been a boob slider already? All I remember asking for was separating yokai form from the guardian spirit for more build variety.

It all works together when you factor in buffs the activate when you use it.
If you are talking about Hino-Enma then use mid stance and invest in ninjitsu. If it's Nue then you better learn how to ki pulse. After those two shit gets easier.

Attached: Nioh_Hino_Enma_Concept_Art.jpg (3411x3070, 671K)

What the fuck I played all the missions in demo and didn't get the email.

Ki Pulsing is like one of the best parts of Nioh. A good player can make it so that the stamina bar is almost completely meaningless. A good player can dictate the pace of a battle by how well he can Ki Pulse. If he's bad at it, then a fight can be super slow and rigid like a Dark Souls fight. A mastery of Ki Pulse means that fights can almost turn into character action like spectacles, with constant non-stop offense from the player.

That's why when you watch LV1 runs of people playing the game on Way of the Nioh, you still see them playing extremely aggressively, because Ki Pulsing allows them to do just that.

>stamina bar is completely meaningless
>one of the best parts of Nioh
???

This series is basically Onimusha x Dark Souls?

It is, but saying the D-word infuriates Nioh fanboys.

Isn't it the other way around though?
Every Nioh thread I'd see some DS fanboy flinging shit.

Attached: Soulfags_will_cry_edition.png (1000x1000, 1.4M)

No. It's usually niohfags refuse to acknowledge their game is derivative, as if it somehow undermines its value. You can enjoy something for what it is without deluding yourself.

Get btfo'd fromfag

Attached: shut up nigger_.jpg (464x503, 31K)

It's Ninja Gaiden without jumping.

>their game is derivative
Similar, yes. But not a rip-off, the only thing you could call derivative would be that it's a 3rd person RPG/Hack'n'Slash mix with a stamina bar.
Nioh's combat system for example is vastly superior to DS combat.

Attached: Dork.jpg (649x638, 69K)

william is a shit character
it's better this way, trust me

english ams hard

>tfw William has more personality as a guest character than as a protag in his own game

When is it coming out? I played the shit outta the first one. Got max within a week of release and geared myself out. Then did it again on each DLC release from the beginning.
Spear and Odachi were my favorite weapons.

Hell, I even geared up the two hardest builds to gear before the nerf. Iai oneshot and Gun Only.

Attached: 3ssYoI3[2].jpg (900x612, 163K)

it's gonna be identical to 1 except for a character creator
which is good or bad depending how you look at it
regardless, you aren't missing much if you care about the gameplay

>Spear and Odachi
Most common game build after DLC.
Talk to me after you master Katana + Dual Katana mix

I was kinda hoping they'd go with character creation in the sequel.

Cover art reminds me of something.

>Nioh's combat system for example is vastly superior to DS combat.
Eh, I wouldn't say vastly. Nioh combat system is effectively almost the same as DS. The most notable difference is the stance system, but it ends up being ignored for the most part, because you can usually just stick with the stance with your favorite moveset, without having to swap.
I actually really liked the combat system in Sekiro: the way it handles multiple different player responses to different types of threats coming from the enemies. It felt like it changes the flow of combat much more meaningfully, than, say, tapping a button to ki-pulse after a combo. Too bad that game didn't have much content to offer. I hope Elden Ring borrows that from Sekiro, so dodge roll with iframes isn't your singular response in every combat situation.

Katana and Dual Kat were OP as fuck though. Iai one shot was broken the entire game until the latest DLC, and even then they changed nothing else so the Katana was still one of the best weapons.

In fact, from all the co-op I did with Randoms, Katana and Dual Katana seemed to be the most popular weapon, followed closely by Kusarigama. Then there was a power gap to Odachi, Spear and Hammer / Axe all being similar. Then Tonfas dead last because they were ass.

This image represents my duality, and ambivalence, uuhhhhgggg.

I just hope Nioh 2 cuts down on optional missions where they just throw multiple hard enemies in a locked room.

For example, I still cannot beat that one optional mission at the bathhouse that requires you to fight a Tengu Raven and a Flying Bolt at the same time without cheesing. I'd always come there when my gear is like 100 levels higher and then one shot them. There is no way they're meant to be fought normally.

These missions aren't even hard, considering that you can easily overlevel and then come back later. But designing a mission that way isn't fun.

this
fuck katanafags

tonfas worked with only certain builds. you pretty much also had to use gunsticks. i cleared most of wotn with a status tonfa build.

Nioh is jank? What the fuck?

Gun only was the shit. Can anyone who's played the demo confirm or deny that something similar looks to be possible in Nioh 2?
Being able to make retarded builds that broke the normal gameplay flow in two was absolute ludo. My only complaint about the original and wish for Nioh 2 is that you couldn't really do stuff like that until postgame, I hope such options will be available earlier in Nioh 2.

>He thinks that fighting a Tengu and a Flying Bolt in a spacious room is hard
inb4
>Read the last sentence faggot
I did, you contradict yourself. Remember that one of the selling points of Nioh was the fact that the game is supposed to be unfairly hard.

I hope they introduce more different enemies. I felt like fighting the same enemies all the time in Nioh 1.

That was the thing though, I really didn't want to be forced into only using Gunsticks. They were so poorly designed and so clearly rushed, it seriously made me assblasted.

I don't understand why they made Tonfas just another ninja weapon like the Kusa, but did nothing really good with it to make it better or different. They should have made them the slow alternative to Kusa, like having two battering rams strapped to your hands just like the Odachi is like a faster alternative to the hammer.

I'm sold.

100% agree.

I also kinda hope they put more thought into the guns builds for Nioh 2. It worked amazingly well solo, but the second you went Co-Op or had to fight a boss that required time and patience, the build fell through pretty fast due to ammo consumption. Even with all special gear passives to restore it, or the ninjutsu to restore it. It wouldn't last a whole map in Co-Op. Which sucked.
I loved being this dedicated ranged support.

I liked Nioh and Sekiro, they were both great games. Nioh 2 is looking good as well.

>without cheesing
every Koei Tecmo game is designed like this
see the Master Ninja mission for reference, there's no way anyone would be able to beat him without using debuffs/ninjutsu/spamming special abilities
i personally beat him by spamming moment talismans over and over and knocking him down on the ground

I don't understand how the same company that made Dead or Alive also made Nioh. You look at the faces and expressions of the DOA girls and you'll see that they're all soulless dolls. Yet you see Nioh and you see a pretty girl like pic related and she still has actual expression on her face.

>Rush through 4 playthroughs
Naisu wan user-sama

Wait....I thought you were supposed to bend the game over backwards and abuse it, because it is way less fun not doing that

I loved Nioh enough to double dip when it got released on PC, while I never finished Sekiro.
Sekiro is just too simplistic. Not a bad game but not a satisfying one.

>>fuck katanafags
i don't think it's the players fault that one weapon type is objectively the best
i switched from a axe/odachi build to katana after realizing how versatile and broken it is compared to everything else
it's just shitty design from the developers part desu

>I also kinda hope they put more thought into the guns builds for Nioh 2.
I hope they add dual pistols in 2. It was kinda shit when I saw an enemy use it but found out that the player can't.

Probably because they used mocap actors or something

Man if this game fix the loot system its going to be almost perfect, having to get rid of things in my box of items was a pain in the ass

what did he meant by this?

Attached: 41512344121.jpg (968x681, 49K)

For me
Nioh > Sekiro > Souls series

If they manage to fix the shitty loot system and add more enemy variety this game is going to blow everything else out of the water.

NIOH is vastly superior to Sekiro by default of
>Massive replay value
>Ability to change character model completely, including into little girl
>Glamour system
>Shitton of build variety
>Doesn't rely on parrying in every single battle in the entire game

>there's no way anyone would be able to beat him without using debuffs/ninjutsu/spamming special abilities
I did.

You misunderstood the game. It's not about cheesy tactics (well, not until Abyss at any rate), it's just level/gear check.

DoA is a soulless cash grab, Nioh is their attempt at making a real game without relying on tits and ass to sell it.

Well, the first since Ninja Gaiden 2 anyway.

Sekiro offers one playstyle and does it really well. If you love that playstyle, you'll love NIoh. If you don't, you won't love it.

the guy is lightning fast, i understand being the appropriate level to not get 1-shot, but like, there's no fun in not being able to dodge attacks and take no damage at all, and this is something i think soulsborne does better

that's more than a third, that's a lot
did you think those random people were all going to answer the survey
people who play demos just want to play the game, they're not game testers or journalists

>tfw Ninja Gaiden is kill

Attached: 1483322283363.jpg (827x600, 477K)

it sold far worse than the console version
and it was a lot cheaper on PC, $50 for the game and DLC, compared to $60 for the game on PS4 +30 for the DLC

Eh, it had a good run, even if only two of its games managed to be good, they're still two of the best action games ever made.

There's no way TN is going back to Ninja Gaiden after how successful Nioh has been. The only thing I hope they still do is make PC ports for NGB and NG2.

if my memory serves, i only paid 20 euro for the complete edition on steam, cuz it was on sale. I didn't have the dlc's on my ps4 version and i had finally built a good pc, so i thought why the fuck not

I'm doing my first run of Nioh right now. I'm loving every moment. Could use more enemy variety and I wish there were more interesting human enemies but overall real great game.

If they ever make a PC version, please, PLEASE, FUCKING PLEASE don't forcebind lock-on target switching to mouse movement. The MKB controls for the PC edition of Nioh were almost perfect aside from that one glaring problem.

I asked for a butt slider

a man of taste, i see

>If you love that playstyle, you'll love NIoh.
Ah fuck, meant to say Sekiro.

I really enjoyed the Crazy Bat Lady bossfight, but it's like the game just flatlined after that. Pretty much only the 420blazeit Pepe-san boss stands out from what I played of the rest; dropped it after reaching the battlefield level and haven't touched it since.
It plays well enough, though. I'm interested in this sequel.

You can definitely cheese a lot of shit while being horribly undergeared, though.
I think the game has a lot in common with Dragon Quest, oddly enough. DQ games are designed by a notorious gambling addict who lives for the thrill losing or not losing half an hour of progress due to getting oneshot by some random bullshit, but most people don't play JRPGs like that and resort to grinding instead.
Nioh is the brainchild of people who love to delve autistically into the minutiae of every singular action game mechanic so you can start to abuse them to the degree that you need to beat the game. Most people also don't play like that, so once again, the result is them resulting to grinding.

>Not him

That's what I like about Nioh. I can cheese in it to the point where I don't even get hit once and beat a boss in half a minute and I don't feel guilty about it.

>using debuffs/ninjutsu/special abilities is cheesing
end yourselves

We can all agree that kusarigama is the least fun weapon, right?

DoA has unique and deep gameplay tho, the problem is that in the end it still relies too much on mixups and there is no way to change that without remaking it's whole trademark gameplay of the series

people like you are also cancer who think sexyness and fanservice shouldn't exist in games, or games like this deserve to be looked down for the sole reason of having sexy visuals

double axe was too much fun in the demo, will probably stick to that for a while

>*uses sloth talisman*
>well shit, i guess i've won this boss fight
i played through the entire game with a friend who was running a ninjutsu build while i was running an onmyo build. We completed missions that were 100+ levels above our own, because the fights became completely trivial after i slowed and weakened the enemies while distracting them, then my guy would just spam kunais at their backs with nearly 50% unlimited ninjutsu gear

Heavy armoured odachi with onmyo is literally the comfiest build in Nioh. Add either 1kat or 2kat to complement odachi too.

there's no way to go full heavy armor in Nioh without feeling like you're suffocating, you need waaaaay too much stamina to get enough max equip load to go under 70%
there's a reason why so many players use warrior of the west armor, because it's light and provides solid defense
compare WoTW with something like Tatenashi, which is the best for straight up defense, the difference is pretty minor while Tatenashi weighs a fuckton

>people like you are also cancer who think sexyness and fanservice shouldn't exist in games, or games like this deserve to be looked down for the sole reason of having sexy visuals
When did I say that? I said DoA relies on fap bait first to make money before gameplay , I didn't say anything you posted.

>there's no way to go full heavy armor in Nioh without feeling like you're suffocating, you need waaaaay too much stamina to get enough max equip load to go under 70%
You know what weapon scales off stamina?
Motherfucking Odachi. It's your main stat. Pump that shit and enjoy both heavy armour and top tier weapon.
People use WotW because there's barely any early game sets, the ones who still use it late game are retards.
>the difference is pretty minor
Tatenashi is straight one of the best defensive sets in the game that can be used to reach 100% firearm immunity while wotw has no defensive stats whatsoever, hell it doesn't even reach 200 toughness as far as i remember which means no hyperarmor.

you playing the game in coop is what broke the game, not ninjutsu/magic

on the other hand sloth talisman is overpowered though, but it doesn't mean you should ignore the whole arsenal of other abilities because you found something OP within them. The major reason Nioh is thousand times more engaging than other Souls games is because you have so many shit that you can use strategically and experiment with.

it would've had pretty much the same effect if i ran a hybrid build by myself
onmyo is broken
ninjutsu is broken
prove me wrong

you wouldn't have said that if you didn't mean to use it in a degrading way, and you know that.
DoA has just as much effort put into it's gameplay as any other popular fighting game even if it's flawed at the core, it has probably the best animations out of all fighting games, and the best looking character models, but because it also has bigger than average fanservice people like you will only comment how the devs are just trying to sell a low effort game with fapbait

Alphafags, what do you think about the new Nioh 2 onmyo/ninjutsu?

>it would've had pretty much the same effect if i ran a hybrid build by myself
no it wouldn't be nowhere near close. Coop absolutely breaks any souls-like game, since one player can always just distract and block the enemy while the other can just whack them from behind

aside from Sloth Talisman not being well balanced, there really isn't anything that would "break" the game. You being able to kill much higher leveled enemies with the right combinations of ninjutsu and magic is part of the game.

>Ingame character-focused screenshots vs landscape artwork
Do you ever get tired of gargling cocks or is it something you've just gotten used to over time?

most odachi scale more off of strength and heart
so you're left with 2 choices unless you're very late into the game
1. Run a tanky low dmg odachi build or 2. Run a high agi high damage odachi build
Yes, I know the 3 and 4 piece set bonuses give equipment weight dmg bonus and 6,1% dmg bonus respectively. However given that, as multiple players have confirmed, the max weight dmg bonus totals to about 15% increase, it's pretty pitiful compared to, say, The Crossed Sickles which at 6 pieces gives you about 17% close combat dmg bonus+20% damage bonus from behind
>Firearm Immunity
you get the same effect by pressing l1

Actually, my point was more aimed at them making lame volley ball and poorly disguised dating sim games instead of something more proper like another Ninja Gaiden, but luckily they are making Nioh.
Besides, the micro transactions in the main game point to them milking the fanservice like I said. They know the games don't appeal to their core fighting game audience enough to make a decent amount on the sales alone, so they target the waifufags as well.

>most odachi scale more off of strength and heart
No, all odachi universally scale off stamina. Scaling letter may differ but it's the single best stat and weapon synergy in the entire game. On top of that Todo clan provides you with even more damage and HP scaling with endurance.
>the max weight dmg bonus totals to about 15% increase, it's pretty pitiful
It's an enormous amount for the tankiest setup in the game. Crossed sickles is yet again a 1hko light armor set.
>you get the same effect by pressing l1
Firearm damage in this game is almost every ranged attack including the unblockable enemy energy waves.

>same enemies
>same boring colors
>same level design
>same weapons
>same attacks
oh yeah it looks amazing senpai!!

It's even worse: on top of all of the bloated bullshit systems the first game had, they're adding in a "demon mode" (aping Devil May Cry) that I'm sure will just make the game even more complicated.
I'm glad the first game had a lot of content but they really needed to take a look at the gameplay loop and figure out that most players won't want to manage 7 different screens of systems between missions, including a busted loot system that doesn't belong in an action game like this.

loot system, boring enemies and level design made me drop the game after that big demon boss
I own all the dlc but couldnt even finish the base game

So is this more like the original alpha demo of Nioh or another shitty diablo RNG dungeon loot crawler where you kill shit for epic pinata rewards ad nauseam? I wont buy another pile of shit since even the original is still sitting on my PS4 with the dlc.s uncompleted since every time I boot one up its obvious they were designed for autists who grinded for levels and gear for a month straight before the episodes released

damn, that's almost exactly where I fell off too. I didn't even care to finish the last few missions, just nothing there to keep me. Everything became such a chore to upkeep.

Okay niggas I already finished Nioh 1 but I want to 100% it (DLCs included).
What is the most OP build ?

I liked Nioh 1 but wasn't a big fan of the diablo loot desu

blame the retards that complained during the beta when it had before not much loot and weapon durability instead.

Durability was even worse.

Not really, it was balanced around it.
It wasn't like BOTW or whatever, you just had to use whetstones to repair them immediately (whereas now they're used for the affinity system).

FUCKING PC RELEASE WHEN!?!?

So we gotta complain about the loot enough so it goes through?
I like having armor with interesting add-ons but the way they did it was not good

>I like having armor with interesting add-ons
Me too
but dropping some armor 3 enemies later because the same armor with better stats drops is boring and dull after you changed the armor the 5th times per map.

6 months later

Do we have more info about Yokai shift? The alpha had a bunch (one for each element I think) but is every other spirit the same as the ones we've seen so far? I mean, are all the fire spirits type like this one with the hammer? Or each spirit has a different transformation? Because if they're all the same it's pretty shit, but if they're all different than holy fuck we're talking about 20+ demon forms
