What exactly is wrong with the "Fortnite aesthetic"?

It's very clearly intended for children.
When a violent game uses a childish cartoon aesthetic it should repulse any rational thinking human.

Children should not be exposed to combat in any capacity. Cartoon violence is one thing, but actually nourishing their combat awareness and tactical decision-making at such a young age is inhumane and is certain to make them irrational as adults.

the character designs are good, makes me wonder why there isn't more people using these 3d models for porn and draining zoomers of their parents' money on patreon, it's still 90% just overwatch shit

like it's not even that bad and not the worst thing to happen to fortnite, remember when airplanes first came out and weren't nerfed for the longest time, those were dark times

It's a great style, I remember how Yea Forums loved it when the first trailer was released in 2011, since it was a welcome respite from all the brown and bloom plaguing vidya at the time. The problem comes in its oversaturation of the market, value is pretty much tied to availability, and the style loses its appeal when you see it everywhere, including cheap chink knockoffs.

I still wish we got serious AAA single player games in the style, imagine an RPG with aesthetics like in pic related.

Game was shown off as far back as 2011 I believe its nowhere near new. It was in development hell before they decided to turn what they had into a BR game. the original vision only lies in the dead save the world game mode.

I really like it actually. Reminds me of Runescape.

Am I the only one who gets really annoyed looking at the game? Like all the colors and clothing coupled with the dances and characters making these weird smug faces.
It could be any game with this design and I think it would turn me off of it because of how obnoxious it looks.

I don't like the early characters because they have kinda blocky faces but the newer stuff looks fine.
