I thought it was alright. But the 'run and hide' horror genre has worn out its welcome. Shit is pretty boring and becomes more annoying than scary or fun

Yeah. Alien Isolation was pretty good but doesn't really need a sequel.

If Outlast was literally the only game to exist with "run and hide only, no combat" gameplay, it'd be a fun novelty.
But by the time I got around to it, I was already thoroughly fucking over the formula. It did nothing for me. It is inherently not fun gameplay and has zero staying power.

I enjoyed it. The run and hide mechanic it had was before it became a trend and was fun then. The batteries for your camera were a neat idea too until you had like 20 of them.

I felt this way playing a certain game a long time ago that was set in the medieval ages. I forgot the name but it was the same type of gameplay. Got sick of hiding with my oil running out and shit.
