waiting for my joycons to be fixed AGAIN
How long have you had them? Had mine for 8 months and no issue. The sticks feel really cheap and fragile though.
>What are you playing currently?
Stardew Valley, Smash, Dark Souls. Plan on picking up the Hotline Miami pack and Ori. Looking forward to AC New Horizons.
About 9 months
>not going to your local Walmart, buying a new pair and returning the old ones in the box
kek
ollo! guys what's that huge triple A western action RPG that's coming to Switch? Everyone was surprised to hear that it's coming to Switch. Another "impossible" port. Not Witcher 3, but a brand new one that's not out yet on any consoles I think.
you can't buy right/red & blue/left separately
>not buying a brand new switch and returning it the next day
I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty happy with how this year is shaping out
Retard
could work but that's a lot of effort to go through amd somewhat risky considering the price. How about nintendo revise these fucking things already?
I'm playing Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation right now. Been sucked into that world for the past week. I played AC3 first and wasn't that into it. I was into it enough to finish it but not enough to where I'd like to play it again. The setting was really good, it just wasn't that fun to play. Likely never will. I did play Liberation on the PS Vita waaay back, when it was still a Vita exclusive, and before they patched the save data corrupting glitch that it had.
Honestly, I think I'm enjoying Liberation more. It might have something to do with the fact that there's less features, meaning less problems/glitches. I don't recall there being any horse riding in Liberation during my first playthrough years ago, and horse riding was one of the worst aspects of the main game, caused you'd get stuck behind things seemingly every few paces. So unlike in games like Red Dead Redemption (3 years before AC3) and in Breath of the Wild, I ended up just fast traveling everywhere in AC3 because riding wasn't fun. Not an issue in Liberation and it doesn't seem as frustrating so far. I'm up to the Bayou sequence right now, still very early in the game.
Also, it doesn't hurt that Aveline is a hell of a looker. Don't remember her being so hot on the Vita version.
You're probably full of bullshit but I'll bite.
Is it Fallout 4?
>beat link's awakening several times
>"hahaha $60 for a gameboy remake eat my ass nintendo"
>release getting closer
>starting to want it
Goddamn it.
No, I'm not full of shit. I'm completely serious. About a month or so ago a company announced this big AAA action rpg is coming to Switch. It had previously only been announced for the other systems. And no, not FO4. It's a brand new game.
I just can't remember what it is.
>No, I'm not full of shit. I'm completely serious. About a month or so ago a company announced this big AAA action rpg is coming to Switch. It had previously only been announced for the other systems. And no, not FO4. It's a brand new game.
>I just can't remember what it is
I just got mine back, I didn't have a spare controller either so I couldn't play for a while till now.
I want to but a new controller but I am not convinced yet on one in particular. With Blazblue Cross tag battle 2.0 coming soon as well as Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late [cl-r] I want something with a nice dpad. (Also for 2d games). I've heard of the pokken, they go for around 25$ online, but then I would have to get another controller anyway with joysticks for playing smash with roommates and friends. A lot of people seem to shill 8bitdo controllers. but all the shilling all of a sudden on here and youtube reviews has me skeptic. Do any of you actually own one and know if its good for fighting games? Thanks
The one set in space by Obsidean? Outer Worlds?
fucking outer worlds?
>What are you playing currently?
grandia
>What switch games are you looking forward to?
link's awakening, bug fables, dqxi s, brave dungeon: the meaning of justice, rune factory 4 special, rune factory 5, fuga: melodies of steel, yo-kai watch 4, digimon survive
YES!!! that's the one.
here is the switch announcement
youtube.com
what do u guys think of this game?
We already knew about this user. You didn't need to turn it into a guessing game.
i think he actually forgot the name and just wanted to know
>What are you playing currently?
Fire Emblem
>Listening to any music while you play?
Not really.
>What switch games are you looking forward to?
Dragon Quest 11 S. A port of my favorite game of all time that's actually worth buying since it has superior music and new story shit.
I was trying to remember what it was cause I had literally forgotten the name.
>all the shilling all of a sudden on here and youtube reviews has me skeptic
They were always pretty good, but people are talking about them "all of a sudden" because the SN30 pro+ just came out.
I know your feel, user.
I own a SF30pro and don't really recommend it. Bluetooth connectivity is spotty, although only with the swich for some reason (fine connected to my pc; latest firmware btw); dpad is poor and overly sensitive on the diagonals. I also don't like how the shoulder buttons feel as they don't press well unless you press directly in their center. Overall, you can really tell they're chinkshit but you can't argue too much with the price I guess?
Yugioh legacy of the duelist just came out
Just bought fire emblem three whores
Solid choice. What house are you thinking about joining?
Been playing FFIX and Golf Story recently. Not really looking forward to anything in particular, but have ~150 games on my wish list and don't buy anything anymore if it's not on sale for at least 50% off. I really need to start buying physical since I've filled up my 400GB card already.
still playing DQB2. Just got the Oasis quest
I bought red/left blue/right and returned my old red/right blue/left in the same box
Minimum wage walmart worker didnt notice or care
I don't believe you
Finished Black Eagles route in FE3H, now I'm just relaxing in BOTW and waiting Astral Chain. After AC will try another route in FE3H.
I actually bought the splatoon ones and returned my old gray ones, other user is right, Walmart workers don't give a shit.
Finally purchased a pro controller because of this. Joycons are shit anyway, should've gotten a pro controller from the beginning. (And it's the Xenoblade one so I'm excited)
No it's true. Wal-Mart employees typically don't give a shit because it's going to be sent to claims for a partial refund anyway.
t. ex-Wal-Mart employee that knew the claims department people personally.
No clue, desu. Haven't really looked into them.
Still installing.
I hope you enjoy your time with the game, friend. As a long time FE fan, I'm really glad to see the series showing some life again as opposed to Fates which felt lifeless.
How are dark souls and monster hunter on the switch?
Do they run well? Active community?
I mainly wanted a game I can play for a while on the go though. Got some long travels ahead
dark souls runs well and looks good, but the audio sounds really bad.
Daemon x Machina comes exactly one week after Astral Chain, if you like JRPGs you will probably like DxM
Like skipping CD bad?
So how does Gamescom normally work? Can we expect any new game announcements fir Switch or is it all just gameplay footage being shown now?
no, more like heavily compressed. The bell chimes sound almost crackly, for example.
Looking to buy one now that I can hack, I just have to be not lazy and go look. I’m still debating on even getting one, I just want to play Mario Maker 2 online and I know it’s possible just being super frugal.
I've seen DxM, but didn't like it. I will just wait DQ XI.
you can't play online on a hacked switch btw
Dissapointing but I can live with it
Thanks
I won't play anything until I take a break from Classic WoW. However, I just got FE3H, I'll get Link's Awakening and DQ XIS/Collection of Mana/Astral chain
We will get a Nintendo direct in September, then we will get some announcements in December in the GOTYs, then everything starts over again, honestly I don't understand it, if they have all their current year lineup already shown what else can they show in September? What will they show in the GOTYs? Maybe only one game or two, then in February/March they will make another direct where they will have to show even more new games, and then in the E3 show even more new games, Nintendo is lietarlly the company that has to work the hardest between the 3 to achieve this since almost all the games they have in the console are first party, indies, medium Japanese games, and console exclusive (that are almost first parties).
>dislike Dragon Quest and Astral Chain and Fire Emblem for being way too cinematic (I fucking despise cutscenes no matter the game ratio)
>bored of Tetris 99
>Link's Awakening looks too pricey for the very little amount of content
>Sword and Shield look like more of the same
>Daemon X Machina has been tainted with cinematic shit and waifus, making me hate it even more
>bored of Cadence of Hyrule, offered nothing that I didn't already have in Necrodancer
>Luigi's Mansion 3 looks underwhelming
I hate waifus, I hate story heavy games, and I hate casual games, so everything here just looks disappointing. Do we even have news of Metroid Prime 4 yet? That was the star of the show I've been waiting for. I feel like it's been silently canceled.
You can't play online in hacked switch retarded faggot
I thought there was some emunand or something or not booting it in cfw mode or something
Why the heck does NoA never get any collector's editions? Link's Awakening/Astral Chain/Daemon X Machina releases gave us nothing.
you sound like a battle royale/mmo autist
Calm down
Just started a new Mario Maker stage, not listening to any music though
Looking forward to Link's Awakening, Luigi's Mansion 3, and surprisingly also the new Mario and Sonic game, it actually looks pretty good
Because they are the reason why Nintendo is below everyone, they are useless
Waiting for Astral Chain so I can play it for 2 hours then drop it like every other Switch game I bought in the last 2 years.
?? I thought that Nintendo sold fairly well here
Anyone know amy Switch games with co-op campaigns? Preferably the ones that need two Switchs?
once astral chain is out the way I think we'll get news on Bayo 3
currently playing this and I'm enjoying it but I can tell why I haven't seen anyone talk about it. game would've been better if made by natsume or level 5
I am looking forward to collection of mana desu
wot game
After they show bayo 3 what else will they show? Metroid prime 4?and then? You can't make an entire direct based in only one or two games. Then they will have nothing to present in the Gotys maybe, BOTW2, SMTV, NMH3, Pikmin 4, the Monolith Soft game, wait wtf Nintendo literally has enough games to feed us for an entire year and a half
>playan
Dragon quest XI demo
>listenan
true scary stories on YouTube
>looking forward to
Astral chain
>Monolith soft game
>Town from gamefreak
>Yokai watch 4 in the west
>Rune factory 5
>Shin Megami Tensei 5
>Metroid prime 4
>Pikmin 4
>Bayonetta 3
>No More Heroes 3
>Breath of the Wild 2
Plus all the surprises they can give, Nintendo is stacked.
Little dragon cafe
I bought Leisure Suit Larry for my mum, and Captain Toad. Have been playing Hollow Knight myself, managed to beat Zote10 after 5 hours, feels good man.
I'm more of a fan of videogamey games, Stuff like gradius and contra, and that's why I was so disappointed with Tetris 99. All this fluff and smoke and mirrors, and they don't really do anytrhing to improve upon the original.
Go away ACfag
>I bought Leisure Suit Larry for my mum
I thought this was a comfy switch thread. What's with the hostility?
What? She loves adventure games and she's played all the Larry games, I bought her Grim Fandango and Broken Sword too.
It is. So stop trying to pick a fight and bitch at everything
Or better yet fuck off
Pick a fight? The only thing I said in my post, aside from my criticisms, was "I wonder when Metroid Prime 4 will be released"? I insulted nobody besides that.
Three Houses and Breath of the Wild.
Anyone have experience sending a joy con to Nintendo? I can't seem to find any bubblewrap in the house so I might just send it in the zip lock bag inside the box. Also I don't have a printer for the label so I assume I can print that out at the ups store?
I've had my eye on that for awhile but it never seems to go on sale and sure doesn't seem like a $60 game.
I sent mine in for a non-joy con related issue and they send you a ups shipping label; all you have to provide is the box.
Your life sounds horrible.
Been playing a lot of fire emblem, having a great time. Its my first FE and i'm not really into turn based games , so it's a reall surprise.
And for a person who tends to try to buy al switch exclusives, it's an expensive year
Misread that... Yeah, they will print the label at the store.
Thanks
What can you actually get exclusively from the Japanese eshop that you don't need to know Japanese to play?
Mario Odyssey and Fire Emblem
thinking on getting DOOM (2016) while I wait for Luigi's Mansion 3
Ultimate Alliance 3. Just grinding levels right now.
Sometimes. Usually ASMR
Astral Chain
Anyone else picking up Witcher 3? I think it looks pretty good for the Switch
DOA Volleyball 2
I might, never played it and don't really mind graphics at all so I'd be only gaining portability over playing it on my PC which seems fine.
>Hotline Miami
I don't thing it'll be that good with joycons, it's almost impossible without M&K
>I bought her Grim Fandango
>Currently playing
Ace Attorney trilogy, on the 2nd act of the final trial of the third case in Justice for All, and FE: Three Houses in chapter 5 on the Golden Deer route.
>Listen to music while playing
Nope, the game's music is enough for me
>Games looking forward to
I've already preordered Astral Chain on Monday and that's my most anticipated game this year, besides River City Girls which I have a passive interest in there's nothing else.
>it's almost impossible without M&K
Not him, but are you sure? I only played both of them on PC but I heard that the aiming was not a problem on consoles.
Isn't Hotline Miami basically a dual-stick shooter?
She loved it
How’s Daemon X Machina looking? I played the demo and I thought it was meh, but I’ve heard that it’s been improved.
Can anyone recommend some nice comfy grips for portable mode? I've just bought a switch but I found my friend's one a little un-ergonomic in portable mode, playing Zelda kinda left me with sore wrists.
The Dragon Quest XI demo was so much fun. i'm thinking on dropping Luigi's Mansion to pick it up
Alright bros is it just me or did anyone else get motion sickness playing the DQXI demo
I'm still playing through botw, I played for ages then stopped for a few months now I'm right back into it. I don't want it to end. I have one divine beast left and the hyrule champions stuff to do. I'm 130 hours in.
I bought Katamari Damacy and will play it over the weekend, never played it before as well as jumping into Mario Maker for a few cheeky levels every now again.
Just finished Cadence of Hyrule. I honestly really enjoyed it for what it was.
Now I’ll probably go back to Necrodancer. Maybe hop back into MHGU.
I want to get Three Houses, but other than that, Switch games for me are looking a little dry until New Horizons. Although I might check out Astral Chain.
>What are you playing currently?
Nothing. Just a few Bayo warmups.
>Listening to any music while you play?
No, not really.
>What switch games are you looking forward to?
Astral Chain (already pre-purchased). This week is such a cockblock I want it to go already.
How many games do you guys have? I have 120 mix of digital and physical, mostly digital though
My right joycon has started to drift. I thought it was because of low battery or something but it always happens on the right one, so yeah it's defective. Fuck Nintendo.
3.
Smash, Odyssey and Three Houses
DCUO? Lol
I have this many, minus YouTube which isn't a game. I'm planning on buying MHGU, Astral Chain, the Spyro trilogy and a bunch of indies.
You sound like a person bored with gaming, play some old titles, you're no longer a gamer, you lost your love for games.
Is anything else planned for Splatoon 2 now that the Splatfests are over?
Anyone hoping for a physical release of Hotline Miami? Its my favorite game, I would love to support it as much as I can
>We're getting Ori and the Blind Forest
Literally how?
Playing BotW and going to be picking up FE3H from the post office tomorrow. BotW is fucking amazing and I can't believe how immersive and massive this world is on such a tiny system. Imagine if Bethesda actually put this much effort in their games.
Currently working my way through Bayonetta. I bought it when it first launched for Switch, having missed out on the first two releases, and I'm hoping to have it and 2 done by the time 3 comes out (or ideally a good amount of time before so I can be properly hyped)
Should i bother with third parties? kinda want DOOM, Dark Souls and Diablo 3 to play them on bed
>Luigi's Mansion 3
>Astral Chain
>Pokemon, unfortunately
Nintendo's getting a good chunk of my money this fall. And that's assuming I don't add Mario Maker to that list as well.
playing the DQ11S demo and loving it, watching yt while playing
BotW
Mario Odyessey
DK TF
Splatoon
MK8
Mario Maker 2
New Super Mario Bros
Fire Embelm: Three Houses
Smash bros
Batonetta 1 and 2
Hyrule Warriors
Arms
Skyrim
Rayman Lefebds
Lumines
Enter The Gungon
Shantae Half Genie Hero
VOEZ
Axiom Verge
I have Astral Chain preordered too so 21 in total on switch, if you want to include my PS4, 3DS and PC games it is probably 200 or more.
Doom looks a little rough compared to the other versions, but the gyro aiming makes it probably the best option for console desu
I got it digitally and it's a blast
>Luigi's Mansion 3
>Astral Chain
>paying full price for 6 hour long games
52 physical and probably another 50-60 digital. I still want about 10-15 more physical games, and that's before most of the shit that'll come out in the next few months.
Only two games I want to throw out the fucking window are Xenoverse 2 (absolutely not my thing) and Legend of Kay
>30fps
>best option
doubt.jpg
Seethe, mustard.
>DKC Tropical Freeze
>MUA3
>Luigi's Mansion 3
>Ori and the Blind Forest
>Ace Attourney Trilogy
>Astral Chain
>Mario Maker 2
>Bayonetta 3 (whenever that comes out)
>A Hat in Time
So many fucking games I need to get, goddamn why is the Switch so good?
Like I got a PS4, and I like it, but Switch is an 11/10 jack of all trades console. New games, old classics I never got around to, indie games, third party games, and all this shit is portable. Goddamn I love my Switch.
>What are you playing currently?
Nothing right now, just killing time with modded Skyrim out Astral Chain is out
>Listening to any music while you play?
See above
What switch games are you looking forward to?
Astral Chain and Daemon x Machina. Not sure I want Pokemon Sword and Shield yet
>What switch games are you looking forward to?
SHIN
MEGAMI
TENSEI
FUCKING
FIVE
Yeah but the aiming is more fun and intuitive. To each their own but I don't regret buying it on Switch and think it would be way more boring on something like PC where I'm used to playing FPSes.
Still trying to find an explanation as to why the beholder 2 has been taken off the European eshop.... Its still in my wish list but as unavailable for purchase
Really hoping for a Metroid Prime Trilogy port before 4 comes out. I missed out on those back in the Wii era before I gave a fuck about Metroid outside of Smash and I'd love a jumping on point that doesn't require me to scour Gamestop's used rack or reconnect my Wii.
I got Oninaki in the mail, trying to finish it quick until Astral Chain next week
>What are you playing currently?
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 - picked it up for my nephew, but its pretty fun. More tricky than I expected it to be.
>Listening to any music while you play?
New Parlor Mob album.
>What switch games are you looking forward to?
Astral Chain and DQ11
4 phys and 53 digital
About 60 physical games, 10 pending and 26 digital.
>What are you playing currently?
random nes games from my rom collection and celeste
apparently the switch is so shit it lags when enemies in kirby's adventure do their special attacks
>Listening to any music while you play?
people do that? i just listen to the game's music
>What switch games are you looking forward to?
i'm probably gonna pirate it if it's an exclusive and get it on pc otherwise so who cares
Have they fixed Bloodstained yet? How did they manage to fuck up 2 .5D game so bad?
the entire nes and snes libraries + 4 physical and 4 digital
>What are you playing currently?
I'm actually watching an ASSFAGGOTS tournament
>Listening to any music while you play?
Same as above
>What switch games are you looking forward to?
Ninja Savior, which I'll be picking up from the post office today
Why is this Secret/Mineski series so fucking terrible?
Sounds like you just hate videogames in general.
I'm thinking of buying a switch as my first Nintendo anything I've ever bought. Mostly because I've skipped this console generation and I'm waiting for that ps5 to come out.
I have fond memories of playing smash with my bros around 2009, and I really loved Mario galaxy (emulated it). Would you say there are enough good first party games on this thing for a complete nintendo casual?
Should I get 3 Houses if I don't like strategy games (because I'm a brainlet), but enjoy waifushit? I don't have any prior experience with Fire Emblem.
>Would you say there are enough good first party games on this thing for a complete nintendo casual?
Yes
First Nintendo System I have owned since the Wii, yeah, it's a great side system, you'll want to pick up most third party games on another console/PC though.
I recommend starting with Mario Odessy then playing BotW, those are the two best games on the system by consensus then you have a ton of stuff depending on your taste I like Bayonetta 2, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Fire Embelm Three Houses, Mario Maker 2 and ofcourse Smash Bros.
the combat is stupidly easy honestly
it's very detailed but none of it really matters for 90% of players
I just finished Fire Emblem recently so I'm getting back to Valkyria Chronicles 4 and hopefully finishing that before Astral Chain comes out.
Not listening to any music during my Switch stuff but man, just the thought of music + games makes me think of listening to Macross songs while playing Wipeout in VR and now I want to go do that.
Excited for Astral Chain, Link's Awakening, Disgaea 4 Complete+ and Pokemon, just this year.
The game is stupidly easy and forgiving on Normal. So if you stick to that you shouldn't have an issue. The very end of the game may require you play slightly safer but that's about it.
If you want cute girls, it has plenty I guess. I don't know if I'd play it just for the cute girls due to the general tone of the main story, but I guess I could see others doing. When you say you want "waifushit" what are you looking for exactly?
What are you fags doing using the joy-cons to begin with?
>tfw play docked which is the ideal way to play and haven't even touched my joy-con's since originally attaching them to the console at launch when I bought it for start-up.
The pro controller exists you brainlets.
Good to know, I'll pick it up then.
>When you say you want "waifushit" what are you looking for exactly?
Just having lots of cute girls to interact with, maybe even romance. The usual stuff.
>mfw I play everything in portable mode while sat at my PC
>have a Switch Pro but use it as my PC controller unless I play local multi with someone o play something that plays actively worse due to the loose nature of the joycons (Taiko namely, button mashing feels like ass in handheld mode)
>brainlet confused over why unofficial emulators on switch lag
WHER IS MUH METEOID PRIME 4
Nintendo lied, people died
night in the woods is great
what else hits that mood/feel of teenagers trapped in run down town at halloween?
please, the joycons have issues nintendo are aware about, something they (very cautiously) have admitted before. They just won't or can't fix the problem, it's a hardware defect and there is plenty of information out there about the symptoms and likely causes. Most switch users will experience this problem as some point, and their customer support receives constant complaints about it.
Get mad.
>I recommend starting with Mario Odessy then playing BotW
Thanks, I'll probably do that.
Been playing Breath of the Wild, i finally got it 2 weeks ago, i have been listening to music while playing actually, been listening to red hot chili peppers while playing, its been fun
Fuck keese by the way
don't start with the worst 3d mario. Start with Smash Ultimate or Tropical Freeze or BOTW. Play Mario in like 4 years when you've finally played all the other must-have titles on switch.
How far does the demo let you play until?
Get mad.
Still working on finishing BotW and Xenoblade 2. I'm nearly done with BOTW but want to finish the last shrine quests.
After Odyssey and BOTW, get Xenoblade 2, DK Tropical Freeze and Smash, send your FC somewhere in the future, would be fun to play together!
nah, get FE:3H first. The fucking WAIFUS are BONKERS BRO
great post faggot
He should really just wait a week and get Astral Chain. PlatinumGames never disappoints.
Astral Chain comes out in a week?! FFS NINTY, let me finish my third route in Three Houses first. Why can't Ninty do a better fucking job spacing their games out, there's just too much fucking games man.
Get mad.
did you even actually read my post or are you just spamming this on everything?
G-guys this is starting to get confusing.
DK already seemed interesting to me.
>send your FC somewhere in the future, would be fun to play together!
I think I'll start lurking these threads, so I might do so.
Haiku town. Demo is absurdly long at around 10 hours
Oninaki
No
Astral Chain
GET SO MAD IT DRIVES YOU MAD!!!!
fuck off shitposter
Dumb zoomer.
I could never watch any fucking Eshop video.
My Switch is a launch model, any ideas on how to fix that?
cont.
The videos are basically unwatchable due to buffering
also can't play anything online BUT Tetris for some reason
everything's fine on my compu
Test internet speeds on your switch in settings
what is the point of your posts?
you're just shitting up the thread with spam
Yeah, it's shit. I get a maximum of 5 or so (download), 2 up.
Already tried 5ghz, MTU etc.
what are your speeds when testing on pc?
Get mad.
Heres your (you)
Get mad.
Im not mad
Just disappointed
295/211
I probably just have a faulty Switch, I wish there was a way to fix it.
Get mad.
(I'm starting to think user doesnt know how to type anything else folks)
you using wifi? have you tried ethernet?
Stop replying to him. Just report and hide.
True but its nothing but meaningless bait
Yep, even bought an adapter for ethernet, same thing.
Just downloaded Omega Labyrinth Life with around TWENTYSEVEN FUCKING DLCs
what am in for?
then I'd contact nintendo as that sounds like a fault
I'd rather not, nintendo europe apparently sucks, especially in my country.
well, can you return it to the store you bought it from?
Just placed in the semifinals in a 14 man tourney.
Been playing Smash for a couple of weeks now and I'm starting to quickly outpace my room mates in skill level.
i've been enjoying Child of Light and A Robot Named Fight lately. also downloaded the DQ11 demo to try out later.
mostly biding my time until Astral Chain next week, though once i get my tax returns i plan on catching up on some releases. Bloodstained and DQBII, mostly. any other recommendations would be welcome.
Having fun with DQ, Ys 8 and Dark Souls, waiting for Astral Chain.
>switch lite coming out next month
Is it worth it?
>Cash
>Cheddar
>Moolah
>Bling Bling
>Bills
Anyone playing RAD and know how to turn of this fucking narrator?
The game is a fun Roguelite-lite, but Double Fine ruin it by trying to be funny, but end up being obnoxious.
Not really. You can get a new switch with discount same price as switch lite, and it will have same battery life and joycons you can take off/change, as well as rumble/bigger screen.
In my experience they were okay. I've had to send in a Switch for a repair before, mine had a faulty SD card reader. It did take a while, as they were doing an "annual stock take" so the process took about 4 weeks, which was shit. But my Switch came back working good as new, in a really well packaged box with a new warranty. It was the same unit too, still had my screen protector attatched to it.
I'm from the UK btw so it was Nintendo Europe that did the repair.
Disregard those idiots. You were right and can play online on a hacked switch using an emunand. I play mario maker 2 online on my hacked switch all the time. You have to buy whatever game you plan to play online though. Pirated games are strictly for offline use.
So all shit except for like 4 games
sendarum_ is a rapist and uses splatoon and discord to prey on people
Guess i'm picking up DOOM then
Framerate is still not great in final game compared to demo but they added a lot of quality of life improvements and polish in response to feedback from the demo, also added gyro aiming. It's going to be a game you play I you like customizing mechs and playing with friends (it has co-op and I remember the devs saying they were planning to add PvP down the line).
How's Cadence of Hyrule?
I've been thinking about buying it and Hyrule Warriors.
Are both of these games worth buying/playing?
how come i use retroarch on pc and it doesn't lag then?
It was one game a month basically in 2017, then we had a big drought basically with nothing but smash for most of 2018 and early 2019, but it's back to basically one exclusive per month again.
>June: Mario Maker
>July: Fire Emblem
>Aug: Astral Chain
>Sept: Daemon X Machina
>Oct: Luigi's mansion 3
>Nov: Pokemon
Guessing animal Crossing was originally planned for December before getting delayed three months to march. Obviously there's lots of other exclusives and enhanced ports and remakes coming out this year too but generally you get one thing per month.
September is kinda fucked though. Daemon, Dragon quest, and links awakening.
>Mario Maker 2
Flavor of the month garbage with badly designed kaizo levels
>Daemon Machina
Generic mech game
>Luigi's Mansion 3
Might actually be good
>Link's Awakening
$60 remake of a 5-10 hour game
>Dragon Quest
Port
>Astral Chain
Might actually be good
>Pokemon SwSh
Nigger you can't be serious
>Cadence of Hyrule
Pretty decent but also really short
2019 is such a trash year that absolutely fucking NONE of these games are worth buying a Switch for and only two or three of them are worth maybe trying out if you already own one
I almost never play docked and it's not an unreasonable expectation for the controller that comes with the machine to not be defective.
Cadence of Hyrule is short but good.
Hyrule Warriors is your typical musou game, but with LoZ fanservice.
I bought a switch for Daemon X Machina, get fucked dude.
Everything else about the console is hot garbage though. Maybe Astral Chain will be alright for 5 minutes.
>Playan
Dark Souls on eternal re-runs, trying to finish Mario Odyssey & BOTW and feeling conflicted on F3H.
Also DQXI demo but its really blurry in hh so I'm not sure what to think yet.
>Listening
Rip Slyme while hanging around in DS
>Looking forward to
Not sure, Weegee I suppose, but other than that, nothing looks really like a must have to me. Astral Chain could be good I suppose but I gotta wait for reviews on that front.
DxM could also be good.
>Why are people using the controllers the console came with and is used when playing handheld mode
>using the Switch entirely in docked mode
Might as well play on PC at that point and emulate.
At what brightness level do you play your games at, in a dark room, to have that perfect cost : benefit ratio?
ive heard the blank in his name stands for a P, because you have to "send your rump" to join his discord. its disgusting.
>he didn't buy a second pair when his first was in repair
Just got my first pair back for the second time.
Also fuck joycons
try the demo
it is definitely NOT worth the price tho
Playing Shantae Half Genie Hero.
Finished the main game, god what a fucking awful final boss.
Now to play the other modes, Risky Boots and the Friends to the End one.
No single game is ever worth buying a console for
Fire Emblem and Astral Chain plus the backlog was enough for me to pull the trigger on one.
I like the switch for its comfy minamilism, no cancerous zoomer shit like achievements and constantly being in a fucking chat room while half your console is dedicated to Netflix and advertisements. The fact it only uses like 10% of the power of other consoles and like less than 5% what my gaming PC uses also adds to the comfy factor. And the fact I don't have to worry about losing progress or being unable to play when blackouts happen. Rarely get a chance to use portable mode anymore since I drive to work instead of take transit.
Playing Fire Emblem, my first time with the series and its really fucking good. Playing on permadeath mode and will probably roll another class and try again.
I'll probably grab Luigi and Pokemon, mostly to do the raids with other people from this board honestly. I liked Sun and Moon way more than most people so my standards are shit I guess.
Waiting forever for Metroid
I got a long ass power cord and keep it plugged in while I play. I also sit in a recliner though
/ink/ general is a containment cancer thread.
I’ve been a staunch critic of the Switch for year 1, year 2 and the first half of this year, but I can’t deny the quality of the second half’s release and what seems to be coming in 2020, which FINALLY separates the new console from the Wii U I already owned. Now I feel like it’s finally a different console, because it was plagued with too many ports of the Wii U being sold as brand new $60 games before. Now there’s an abundance of quality and unique experiences coming to Switch, so I went to a nearby store and got one.
Playing The Last Remnant with my Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Pro controller so I'm quite happy and comfy, need to finish Maker 2 story mode, gonna play some Sanic and Patobox tomorrow, also gonna pre-order Astral Chain this or next week too
I'm having problems with my fuckin joycons again with the drift, I already fixed them some months ago but I am having problems again.
Just got a flip grip, any recommendations for vertical shmups? I already have most of the Psikyo games, Ikaruga and the Vasara collection.
>just got switch with MK8 bundle
>look at other games
>smash is still 60 bucks
seriously? god damn.
/ink/ general is cancer
Nintendo games never come down in price. It will be 60 dollars in 10 years. Nintendo games generally have a much higher amount of continuous sales over their lifetimes compared to other titles which generally get almost nothing after opening week and drop in price as a result.
I bought my Switch a month ago, is there any point in getting Splatoon 2? I remember enjoying the first game way back when, but it seems like I'm way too late to the party now.
>The Outer Worlds
>AAA
it was discontinued a few months ago and is a game for 7 year olds anyway. dont buy.
welcome to Nintendo
smash will sell that that price until they stop selling the switch, and will probably stay pretty close even then
>gets comfy in bed playing DQXl demo
>battery dies in 2 hours
>comfy is no more
There's always people playing. Hell 1 still has a playerbase.
>no shitty splatfests=discontinued
Really?
Simpletons are satisfied with scraps.
Time to upgrade to the new revision :^)))).
Even though I play docked only and it doesn't effect me, I feel kinda bad for the handheld mode guys who suffer with the battery life now that new models have twice as much.
been playing far lone sails, came out yesterday I think
super comfy, super relaxing after a long day at work to just sit back and maintain and run my comfy home-car
love the landscapes and music.
>just got Oninaki, about to play it in a few hours
>listening to oDDling and Hotel Pools while playing Picross
>the list of games I want is too big
>playing
Dragon Quest Builders 2, in postgame. Currently in the process of restructuring the Green Gardens area on the Isle of Awakening, but having a hard time deciding on the layout for the communal house, dining area etc.
>listening
Usually podcasts, or I have a stream going (usually Vinesauce).
>looking forward to
Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, and the new Shantae game. I'd look at more nearby releases, but money's slightly tight after getting a new PC recently, so I don't want to see a game coming out in a week or two and go "Ooooh! Oh wait, fuck" in disappointment.
MM2 is actually full of more high quality levels than MM1
The tutorial and story mode seem to have really done a lot for level quality and all the experienced level creators from 1 seem to have picked this up too.
>Generic mech game
You say that like it's a bad thing
>scraps
but how are they scraps?
here are no more updates at all. Splatfests were reasons for everyone to login and play. Now unless you are X rank, its dead, or filled with niplaggers.
According to some faggot website that does reviews and battery test, the game last like 4.5 to 5 hours on the revision one. Might as well upgrade but shilling out $300 again for basically the same product its insane to me.
plus you cant boot shit in recovery mode , so they are worthless.
>rehashes, shit ports and children games
Scraps, tetris is the only good game there.
sendarum_ is a terrible person
Got Android thingy running on my Switch and I'm playing DS games at perfect speed, it's incredible...also watching Netflix/Twitch on my Switch is incredible
Hacking a system means little when the battery is dogshit. But docked is a thing but it barely outweighs it. Im just so fucking mad that NOW they get their shit together and make the battery consumption less painful. Its really pure bullshit.
How long is Link’s Awakening compared to the other 2D Zeldas? I want to play the remake but I won’t buy it at launch if it’s a 6-8 hour game with braindead dungeons. I want it to be like Link Between Worlds and Oracle of Ages/ Seasons length
Meh, I bring my switch to work, play in the server room all day, charge it on lunch, and play a few more hours at the end of day. Works fine. 512gb microsd with a sx pro, but I usually just use RCM Loader on my phone and a OTG cable.
>Now unless you are X rank, its dead
That is a flatout lie.
Im playing right now, I live on the east coast. its 11:40AM, and I'm getting matched with jap laggers. This never happened months ago, unless it was really late at night.
The original was my favourite 2D Zelda, and tied favourite overall with Majora's Mask. Not sure how the new one will stack up, but it's built on a very solid framework.
You'll probably get 20-25h out of it the first time.
I'm curious how 2020 will be.
There's a couple of big titles that are on the horizon but it's unclear what the distance between them will be
>3H is a port or a children's game
unless you mean mechanically for children, then I'd say all games that aren't strategy games and car sims are for children
>despise cutscenes
80hd gamer
>I like the switch for its comfy minamilism
>minamilism
Is proper grammar cancerous zoomer shit too?
>constantly being in a fucking chat room
I can't believe you're actually defending that the console has no means to message your friends. Pull your head out of your ass man.
Fire Emblem is the epitome of rehashing.
Give me some solid arcade ports on the eshop. There are tons, but I have no idea which are worth getting.
Thoughts on buying a used Switch? Yay? Nay? Bad fucking ideay?
Soccer mom in my area is selling one with 9 games and two extra joycons for 420 eurobucks. Games include splatoon 2, MKD8, SMO, BOTE
Yay, they're well built for the most part.
Sounds solid. The only potential issues are the joycons and a scratched screen if it doesn't have a screen protector. Two extra joycons and a ton of games is a great deal though.
Same everything except Mario Maker and Pokémon I’m buying
Walmart employees aren’t paid enough to care.
Never have.
>Buying a Switch for third party TRASH when there's already so many exclusive, FIRST party gems
Yikes.
They’re rolling out mini updates but nothing major
This frankly I’m just buying so many fucking games it’s ridiculous
I brought 7 games over the last 2 months
SMT x Final Fantasy confirmed
>Playing
Currently playing Summer Pockets
It's a pretty comfy VN and so far I'm really liking the cast
>Looking Forward to
next week I'm getting both Collection of Mana physical and Astral Chain. Gonna be a good summer end
Walmart makes such large piles of cash and rotates inventory so fast that returning anything is pretty meaningless to them
sendarum is a terrible splatoon player
Like 40 and i thought i had a lot. I only get good stuff though
You're stating the obvious to someone that already knows these things. Hell the company made absolute BANK thanks to online sales as of recent.
>playing
Currently on this IMPAWSSIBLY adorable game called Cat Quest. Really fun top down hack n slash, great gameplay. Very surprised to see the devs understand how to milk the hell out of the core gameplay loop of "go to the marker and beat up the thing". I think it's the writing, and also the very clever level design that really milks the solid combat for what it's worth. Some levels have really well-designed enemy placement that demand you engage in all the mechanics and spells they coded in. Strong rec from me, and I'm pleased to note that a sequel with 2 player coop is in the works. I love how the over world is streamlined and spaces out just enough to have enemies and NPC "towns" exist together.
>looking forward to
Too much. Astral Chain, DQXIS just off the top, with a whole buncha indies sitting in the interstitials.
Just waiting for Astral Chain, or Project Horned Owl 2: Stand Edition
stop saying milk as a verb so much, it's weird
why is the pro controller's dpad so shit?
