The late 2010s (2016-2020) will be remembered as the worst era for pop culture ever, movies have sucked, tv has sucked, video games have sucked and music have sucked.
Will we ever get out of this rut?

Yea Forums says this every 5 years
Not until another World War hits and everyone realizes they've taken their lives for granted.
This.
yes, but this time its actually trash and it wont get better
>late 2010s
>not cherishing the early 2010s when we still had it
Early 2010s were worse
>spider man is now a nigger
>they give him a hoodie and a nike
What did (((they))) mean by this?
>another World War
The age of powerful leaders and rulers fighting each other has ended.
He's my own original superhero: Brown Recluse
>bloo bloo everything is terrible
>film industry has been dead artistically since the 80s but still manages to thrive
>privatized venues literally just equate to cable dying in favor of paying for 3-4 streaming networks that are competing with Netflix by having to actually produce shows worth watching once everyone stops paying for Friends and The Office
>games were stagnant as hell pretty much all of last gen and just managed to pick up halfway through this one
Yea Forums says this every 5 years, too.
That that was the type of fashion Miles was into? He literally graffiti's the Spiderman logo onto his suit just like we see him do earlier in abandoned Subway tunnels.
I think it was kino. Probably cause in 2010 I was 17 and enjoying life way more than I am now. When you're happy and things go your way you enjoy and tolerate silly stuff way more easily
Pirate warriors 3 came out in this decade. Try again buddy
Did you really not enjoy that Spiderman movie man? No hope for you might as well get the noose knotted.
We got fucking Fury Road and Bladerunner 2049, better than any movies released in 2010-2015
>shitting on spiderverse
Fuck off that's the best spiderman movie
No user you dont understand it had a nigger in it so that automatically makes it bad wrong essjaydubya propaganda
Fury Road was 2015
>nigger
Yeah, in the latter half of the decade.
I wasn't expecting to enjoy that Spiderman movie but it wasn't half bad, the worst thing it did was feature crappy pop songs.
Tell that to Putin whos pretty busy covering up his failed nuke
Yeah once we purge the over representation of the negro
Fuck off nigger
The music has not sucked. Everything else yeah.
>the worst thing it did was feature crappy pop songs
Didn't it also have race mixing propaganda in it?
I read this exact same statement in 2014
I think his point was that it only made a fourth of a fucking CGI Disney rehash when it should've fucking trounced the Lion King.
it only gets worse from here
>remake of a universally adored classic beats Capeshit movie #2361 made in a non-traditional style
How is this surprising?
>The late 2010s (2016-2020) will be remembered as the worst era for pop culture ever
No, it won't because the 2020s will be even worse.
People say this shit every so many years but then the next era is even shittier and people are suddenly nostalgic for everything people used to say was so awful.
Literally both of those are the only movies I have seen recently that I enjoyed, and Spiderverse was pretty good. Better than all the live action marvel movies. The 90s was the last generation to have a voice/soul/whatever. Everything that came after music-wise is generic as fuck, plastic as fuck, factory assembled, mass produced pop. All other forms of media have been having the life squeezed out of them by stock investors. Creativity doesn't just take a back seat, but gets ejected from the vehicle to give way for safe money making bets.
Well yeah, but basically every movie has that now.
OH NO NO NO NO You haven't seen the true descend into shit yet zoomerfag ahahah
The range in the first post was 2010-2015 so I was a bit confused.
But I definitely agree that film has been stronger in the back half of the decade (though this year is honestly really weak). I think that has to do with the recession, though. A lot of independent financing and international co-production cooled off big time at the end of the last decade.
>will be remembered as the worst era for pop culture ever because things sucked
Nah. People won't remember the generic Lion King remakes of the era, they'll remember the Enter the Spiderverses of the era. Look at what people think of from the 80's or 90's. It's usually fairly disconnected from actual chart performance, with the biggest hitters being generic trash that's largely forgotten.
Videogames are a somewhat different beast but that's just them establishing and corporatizing themselves, vidya's now drifted into the same place as movies/music/tv where it wasn't back then.
>since the 80s
cinema died in 75, that kike spielberg killed it
Not until people embrace New Sincerity
Drop the "late". This whole decade has been fucking garbage.
It started as far back as 2006, but got exponentially worse in 2010.
1970-2005 was the most soulful period in human history, but we just can't have nice things, can we?
Miles is a different Spider-Man and he's sweet and pure.
No? If anything they took race mixing out of it. Gwen and Miles were supposed to be romantically involved but they removed that resolution. Not that it would matter anyway because who the fuck cares
nigger
You say that like it's a bad thing.
Lmao that would be a better name
Are you kidding? Spielberg is a fantastic director. If anything, Jaws did a service for the film industry by expanding the boundaries of artistic creativity in the medium. Although technically, the Jaws we got was very different from the one Spielberg had in mind.
Spielberg's been making hit after hit since then, with the occasional miss (looking at you, Hook).
It's not my fault you have shit taste.
It's actually kinda weird how my life was kinda awesome until 2010 when I got hooked on adderall and flunked out of college and so on. I recovered but took me until like 29 to really get on my feet.
pfffff
>Didn't it also have race mixing propaganda in it?
Worse, race mixing and parallel universe NTR, it's disgusting that Peter's perfect gf gets forced with some nigger.
That's the fault of the cuck writer who did Miles in the first place though, the film is good disregarding that gay shit.
You can thank everyone’s obsession with capeshit
>thinks miles morales is anything new
>doesnt like him
suck my peen
Every year with this honestly.
>tv
not 2000s reality tv boom
>music
not 90's gangsta rap, eurodance and alternative rock
You are right about movies though
who could forget this masterpiece
I dunno, it's easier to cherry-pick good things when looking back later. There were some great things in the 90s, but also so much shit that's thankfully been forgotten.
To be fair he was annoying as fuck in the comics. The movie did a good job with making him likable.
>What did (((they))) mean by this?
The message of "Spiderman was a freak accident and Peter proved himself worthy of the power by taking the heroic responsibility" was meant to be demonstrated by giving it to someone else, but later writers were leftist soibrains and focused on his skin colour and writing cuckold fanfiction.
Everyone, as soon as Disney released it's newest live action remake and/or super hero film.
I didn't say it was surprising.
I said it sucked.
Much like the Lion King.
Wait the Lion King really made like 300% of Into the Spider-Verse money??? What the fuck, I want to Disney to fail hard now. Cant wait for the 21st century Black Cauldron iteration to come out and send Disney into a well deserved downward spiral.
Wait, is the movie out already?
Like I said, the occasional miss.
But if you weigh Spielberg's great films (Jaws, Close Encounters, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, Munich, and many others) against his crappier flicks (Hook, Crystal Skulls, Ready Player One), he's objectively a master at what he does.
kys nigger
Yeah, but it's almost 30 years after the fact, and people still fondly reminisce about the good things. Turn on a pop station right now, and tell me if you can find ANYTHING that you will remember fondly in 30 years.
disney owns both
>universally adored classic
>people still like the most disgusting plagiarism in animation history
Disney's numbers are straight up fake.
pop culture was always shit. this is nothing new.
fucking normie.
The 90s were generic as fuck, the early 2000s were far better than the shit grunge decade.
Peter is dead in both their universes though.
9/11 fucked everything, t.37 year old oldfag
Yea because shit manages to get worse
Yeah, fucking Japs stealing from Shakespeare
As far as Hollywood Jews go, he's probably the best there is. He is just one man, his talent was collecting the right talent in the right place at the right time. He and especially the rest of his kind are still responsible for bleeding any and all creativity out of the industry.
>vidya has sucked
Switch saved it.
Main thing about movies is to sell to as many people as possible, so yeah. He's damn good at being a kike.
Stanley Kubrick and David Cronenberg would like to have a word with you.
Both Jews, both film geniuses.
All Gwens are property of Peter
We're talking about a company that made it's name by adapting old ass story books. So an imitation of a more recent piece shouldn't be surprising.
You're wrong, and I hate you for your opinion.
I lost that tiny bit of faith I had left in mainstream media when I saw that marvel phase 4 diagram of products to consume
I audibly sighed
Now show the chink money
You obviously weren't old enough to enjoy the 90s for what they were, sucks to be you faggot junior.
post it
Okay, are they as financially successful as Speilberg? I'm not asking for opinions on which you liked better. They are all master class movie heebs, but Speilberg definitely won at the end.
you can roll it all the way back to the 2008 recession the world never really got out of.
Here's a good overview of it: The recession was a symptom of a greater problem.
that image is a real downer; Spider-verse was pretty good, I still don't understand why Lion King needed to be remade
Are you ready to CONSUME?
>2019 has already sold the 3rd fewest tickets in 25 years.
>Over the next few weeks, it will drop to the fewest tickets in over 25 years.
movies are dead, screen cap this post
Wrong, nigger
I might watch some of this if it was animated as well as Spiderverse.
Unironically killing all of the non-whites and mentally ill queers and fags would bring about an age of arts and culture that would revitalize video games.
Spiderverse is a hugely creative artistic achievement, though
The 90's in my mind was sweatshirts, pretending to be artistic and watching old black and white movies, 90's in media was harry potter, bright colours and spice girls. We only remember what we like, you probably will yearn for the 10's 20 years from now
Why? Because it was safe. Easy. Enjoy the future devoid of creativity.
Harry Potter was more 2000s.
I mean, sure the first few books existed in the late 90s. But they were still children's books at that point. It didn't become a worldwide phenomenon/social commentary until later.
>that time bendis wrote himself a self-insert that was fucking shadowcat
eurodance is great nigger
They were pretty huge even as books. The movies did so well because of said books, not the other way around.
Right, but what will we yearn for? Drake and his songs about how he sucks at relationships? Bruno Mars? Some girls might look back to that fat girl that sings nice. What is good from this gen? Will there be something so cancerous in the future that we say "I wish we could go back to the Fortnite/lootbox days"
I would love to call eurodance a guilty pleasure, but the truth is that there's no reason I should be guilty for it. Eurodance is the epitome of soul.
375.5 million was probably lion kings advertising budget.
Probably because said remake is a basterdization of a classic that only made money due to basedbois and chinks
>film industry has been dead artistically since the 80s but still manages to thrive
no? 90s and 2000s had many good artistic box office hits that are considered classics. 2010s and 80s are where the rift between blockbusters and independent films were very present.
And has it been wrong yet?
Tomino wants to know why you're watching stupid american made shit like spiderman and not great nippon animation folded over a thousand times.
Just look at Marvel, they've got the woman who started Gamergate working on multiple comics.
>user, have you seen [current superhero movie]?
>You haven't? But it's sooo good!
I just don't like the "no ENORMOUS RECORD BREAKING GROWTH EVERYTIME=complete and utter disaster" mentality that media has
Someone doesn't remember how many movies were almost note for note remakes of Cruel Intentions.
this, the moment Disney stop pumping 6 movies per year the entire movie distribution system will start to fade...they are trying to keep the industry alive, not killing it
WE memes aside, I really enjoyed into the spiderverse. It was an entertaining movie and the conflicting artstyles was really neat to see
lmao research the build-up to WWI
You think you want it but you don't. War is fucking awful.
it's wrong every time
Miles is Spider-Man's sidekick.
except that late 2010s has
>Best Zelda game
>best Super Smash
>Crash Nitro Kart HD
>Dark Souls
>Death Stranding
>I really enjoyed into the spiderverse
Only because it was written by somebody with no affiliation with Marvel whatsoever. The same person whose only writing accomplishment was the first lego movie. That would put you at around the mental age of 16.
In my view pop culture has been way better these past few years. 2012-2014 were awful, basically no good games, movies or music that I can recall from that period except for the Daft Punk album.
OLD THING GOOD
NEW THING BAD
Also shut the fuck up you entitled peice of shit boomers. People say this type of shit every 5 years and topic they shit about are usually fondly remembered. I.E Minecraft. Everyone fucking hated it it's only up until now its all "MINECRAFT GOOD FORTNITE BAD" became the cool thing to day. Watch In a few years there will be a "FORTNITE GOOD OTHER GAME BAD" circlejerk once the kids or today grow up and learn to use the internet properly
What are you in about? FNAF came out this decade and it was some good shit.
