You're really tough... see ya
I know Yea Forums isn't fond of Raging Blast 2 but it trumps every other dbz game but FighterZ for me. Too bad you have to emulate it.
BEAT IT PUNK
SOUL
Pic related
>SOULLESS
It's worse than B1 and B3 without question though
Fighterz is the best DB fighter by a wide margin, then the SNES game, then Budokai 1/3, then nothing else comes close or is worth it (idk about the Arc DS game, never played or hear anything about it but it just looks light DBFZ prototype)
where do you rank budokai tenkaichi
youtube.com
DBFZ is pure SOLE though
Try Super Dragon Ball Z. I think that's the best DB fighter, even above FighterZ.
Raging Blast 2 is unironically better than Faggotz though.
>5-on-5 team battles
>beam struggles
>that great music that you can't hear anymore because the Yamamoto controversy caused a rerelease
>those animations
>Hatchyack & Tarble
>no shitty overpriced DLC
The Budokai & Tenkaichi series are considered greater, sure, but RB2 still has its merits.
>BT3 is the best DB fighter by a wide margin
ftfy
As not a fighter
fight: a violent confrontation or struggle
How do you feel about Hyper DBZ Fighter? It's made in Mugen but it's pretty solid.
WHATCHUSAY?
>I think that's the best DB fighter,
That's because it is by a huge margin. Only thing it lacks is a sizable roster.
Fuck these are all so good. I really hope the second one makes the trigger easier to perform online. Super is terrible but the Zamasu / Trunks one so is SOULFUL
youtu.be
It's because they used Z Trunks instead of Super Trunks. Definition of Soul / Soulless.
So many of these are great but they made them stupidly difficult to trigger in a real match. They spent so much time on these easter eggs and you only find them if you search for them on youtube. They should just make it so they trigger if the required character hits the required target with the match winning attack, regardless of what it is.
You guys ever realized if you shot someone with a kamehameha and paused the game right at a sweet spot before it landed, it would do double damage? Idk how my kid self came to find this and I might just be the only person. This was for budokai 1.
>dub
Last time I tried to emulate it Buu broke the games, is it fixed now?
It was a nice distraction but infinite world was more fun if you know fighters. Super DBZ is still top tier for me. Krillin is a good character in that game.
FighterZ is literally the definition of SOUL. Get fucked, scrubs.
THE SAIYANS ARE A TRUE WARRIOR RACE! DON'T UNDERESTIMATE US!

ATOMIC BLAST

What's the difference between you and me?
BLARGGH
>he didn't have a toonami childhood
fucking sad, coming home from elementary school / middle school and watching DBZ, YYH, and RK backtobacktoback was pure kino you clearly never experienced. Sad. Why even live?
Something something teeth
Enel+Wapool masterrace here
Super DBZ is an extremely unique and creative game with a great aesthetic (it's the only game I know of that tries to go for the manga's look over the anime). I like FighterZ more personally but I just love team-based fighters in general and I think the visuals/music are the shit, on top of a roster that covers more than SBDZ did at this point. After then it's either Super Butoden on 3DS or Hyper DBZ () depending on if you count fan-made games, then the Vs mode in Advanced Adventure (unique mechanics and really fluid but I'm biased towards it), then Infinite World (Budokai 3 with more content and no RPS mechanics forced into every game), then probably a tie between B1, B3, & the SNES game.
Tenkaichi 3 is the shit but it's not a traditional fighting game; it's the best of the arena fighter genre before licensed arena fighters were as hot as they are now.
>WOOAHAHOOO!
I did, then Kai assaulted my ears so badly I switched to superior voice acting and music.
I gets fanservice the best out of all games but it's clunky as shit. BT3 feels better to play.
SONOFA
DISAPPEAR FOR GOOD CELL
>he didn't grew up with dbz in the 90's
>usa discovered that in 2002
Sucks to be American desu.
They even butchered the ost with some lame ass music.
>Kai
He wasn't talking about Kai, user. The dub pre-kai was pretty good even if Frieza's voice actor in Kai is better than the original.
Also
>superior music
the japanese dragonball z soundtrack is quite seriously barely there and not better. its pretty much the only time I think the americans did something better.
Goku transforming into SSJ3 with english music for example is way better. There is just no getting around it unless you're some kind of delusional weeb instead of just a normal weeb.
It's so fucking clunky, they went backwards from the lessons they learned in BT3
the bruce faulconer music is better than the jap music though. in jap it may as well be "no music ball z" because it barely exists
Feels good to be the only one who likes the budokai series, especially budokai 2 and infinite world.
NAIL THROUGH
STRUGGLE ALL YOU WANT BUT IN THE END YOU'LL STILL DIE!
Budokai 3 is better than 2
YOU DO WELL, HUH-HUH-HUH
You do well.
t. adhd
>dbz subs
yikers
Can someone spoon-feed me an example of one of the Budokai games being fun? Every time I try to play the combat just seems so slow and clunky.
LET'S SEE IF YOU SURVIVE THIS ONE
Once you master the controls it can be quite satisfying beating the AI.
OKAY Yea Forums GIVE ME THAT STUPID ENERGY
The combat is much better than BT3 though. BT3 doesn't really have anything. You try to get as many button presses and then pursuit/draogn dashes to build damage. In $B2 you can actual cancel and extend your chains properly.
The only difference is BT3 had extremely floaty movement.
"clunky" is just what shitters say because they can't fly 360 around their opponent anymore.
Pffft you kidding right?
Faulconer music sucks ass why you americans want to absolutly fiil all blanks? Thats just stupid, the one that make me laugh all the time is the us version of gohan going ssj2 "and i wont take it anymore" lmao cringey as fuck.
In the jap version its all going in its head and we dont need to know what he is saying, besides there is the wonderful tamashi vs tamashi song going. You cannot beat that with your overtalking characters and this crazy fool whith synthetizer.
Thats a fact get over it, poser.
The animations on that game are weird af. Coompared to Budokai Tenkaichi 3, is pretty unsatisfiying to hit in that game
You don't deserve to know...
You do well! You do well...
>He wasn't talking about Kai, user.
I know.
>The dub pre-kai was pretty good even if Frieza's voice actor in Kai is better than the original.
Freeza is the one improvement. The new actors are terrible and they've all been shit since the 2014 reboot.
>Goku transforming into SSJ3 with english music for example is way better.
And Freeza begging for his life was way better with the original music. It's a cherrypick.
Overall, the music fits the mood much better in the sub and the voice acting was much more believable. You'd understand that if you were willing to take off those jaded glasses.
I AM THE STRONGEST IN THE UNIVERSE!!!
No just no, budokai 2 feel more fun. And its not because there is ssj 4 and oav characters that it would be better, also i loved the story mode of 2 and the fact that there's some hidden gems in this game
Even growing up with the dub I never got the huge hype for Faulconer. The only scene I feel his music actually improved was the first time Goku goes Super Saiyan 3; it's the only song he ever made that I can remember off-hand any time.
>In $B2 you can actual cancel and extend your chains properly.
Elaborate for someone who hasn't played it.
I miss this Cooler voice. The one in FighterZ actually sounds like Frieza's brother instead of some completely different guy but the actual voice he used to have was sick. They were also great when they were reused as Mecha Sonic's voice clips in SMBZ.
Kai is shit. I'm the person you replied to. The majin vegeta speech in the original dub v's kai is the definition of soul/soulless. It may be more "pure" but that doesn't make it better. And gohans new voice actress is insufferable. I'm obviously biased as I had DEEBEEZEE my entire elementary and middle school life, but the music is way better in the dub.
Falconer is literally SOUL
Yeah it needed to shut up sometimes
He has the same voice in Dbfz, dummy, just without the autotune
hoooly fuck I knew Mecha Sonic sounded familiar but I could never place it
RB2 has the "assault chase" system as well as cancels.
In BT3 most followups to attacks are open ended or basically knock the enemy away.
For instance the rapid flying kick that some characters have like Goku who does 3 kicks if you input [][][]/\, just doing that usually left the combo open and you couldn't really continue. Some characters could mash [] after that but other times you could just fly out of the combo and nothing is gained or lost.
In RB2 however after doing that same attack you could charge [](those heavy attacks) during that rapid kick to cancel it mid way, then cancel that charge attack into normal rush attacks[][][] and continue that way. Or press /\ after the kicks to get a followup, and then after that followup depending on which character a different button leads to something else. For Goku his /\ would lead to a kiai which would lead to a sideways charge if you input [], or a gut punch if you input O. Not the exact moves as I can't remember off the top but that's how the system worked.
Not only that but the signature attacks also diversified the cast. Someone like Piccolo could keep comboing off his grab nonstop if he had ki, where someone like Cui had a signature that acted as a free cancel(like a yrc without the slow down) and could use that move to cancel any rush attack into any other attack.
In BT3 there really wasn't anything like this. If you remember all the longets combos were mid-air jump ki blast spam into rush attack into pursuit into grab into pursuit.
Nah, i watched clips of key scenes and it just ruins it, im gonna be honest there is two times he was kinda ok, its when vegeta goes ssj1 and goku ssj3 other than that its pure crap.
Oh shit. I thought I was the only one in the entire world who know of this trick. I would abuse it whenever the CPU kept blocking like a faggot.
literally just kill someone with H or a vanish that shit ain't hard
>BTFOs your entire autistic japanese soundtrack
nothin personal lowlevel trash
youtube.com
Well I'll be. It's a hell of a change. He has a different tone of speaking too, not just the lack of filter though. He's got a little more of a high-class thing going on to match the Ayers version of Frieza. I heard it the most in his winquote where he says "What happened to all that bravado?"
I only realized in the past year myself. Fitting that I found both of them fucking rad villains as a kid.
it feels like they ONLY do it in budokai 1 as well, like every other death move just gets blocked by the CPU and does shit damage no matter how or when you do it
I'LL CRUSH YOU!
The tracks are all really hit or miss and a lot of moments lose their impact because there's something playing in the background.
Believe me, I started with the original dub and I still love it, but there's just too much missing.

>tfw realized after the fact that the final attack in the Grand Finals of DBFZ at EVO this year was SS Goku going Super Saiyan 3 against Kid Buu on Planet of the Kais
If GO1 wasn't so focused on sealing the victory and did a combo route where Goku hit an H or Vanish to end the tournament after the insane sets he had in that Top 8, it would've been the best fucking EVO moment of all time.
And this is why raging blast was the fucking bomb
It had a pretty good selection of characters on release and had solid gameplay. Friends and I would play this shit every night. Got hyped for RB2 and it delivered
Poser.

Based.
I think I understand what you're saying, but you're not giving BT3 enough credit. You can chain upwards of 50 hit combos by mixing up when you hit /\ and what direction you hold the left stick in, but the enemy can dogde or block them with proper timing.
As for which is better, I'd have to try out RB to say for sure though.
You can definitely debate Frieza and Cell, but Buu is factually better run the original dub than both OG and Kai. SSJ3, Buu themes, Majin themes, music placement was fixed, Supreme Kai themes, etc. youtu.be
You probably have stomach cancer
I legit thought that's what he was going for since he's the same asshole who has summoned shenron fucking twice against people in top 8

Does Cell get to use spirit bomb in other games along with that line?
I'll give you that but mostly because Yamamoto was found out before he got to do the Boo arc.
However, this is way fucking better than what people got overseas.
youtube.com
He's still alive
Now thats what I want to SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
As a fighting game, I love Budokai 3. It had the most characters prior to the Tenkaichi games and they all felt unique, representing all three eras of the series. A lot of customization choices for characters and moves/equipment, beautiful cinematic ultimate attacks. However it has a big flaw with the Dragon Rush being so common and required for certain attacks.
Budokai 2 has some stuff I wish carried over into 3. The story mode was a fun change up with the board game (Whereas 3 was flying around to see unanimated dialogue), some of the maps from Dragon Ball (Muscle Tower), and the fusions were fun. For its time coming after the first Budokai it was awesome to play and to look at.
3 also had one of the best songs in the games:
youtube.com
>perfect cell theme
I get that you like it because you grown up with it, but dont embarrass yourself saying that its better than the jap ost.
Its not even close, if fact like i said earlier only 2 song were kinda ok, it would suits well for dragon ball super lol. But thats all.
Its unworthy of listening when you experienced the superior and soulful Japanese original dub.
Thats a fact, only Americans like faulconer dub... The rest of the world have much better taste.
he can use the spirit bomb in other games like xenoverse and some of the tenkaichi games, but he only says that line in budokai 2, 3, and infinite world
Based
While you guys argue over sub vs dub music, I'm just going to post the best theme Vegeta ever got:
youtube.com
I dare you to try and tell me that the rough, triumphant, and reluctantly heroic vibes this song gives off don't fit his character across Z better than any other theme he's had.
Your autistic weeb opinion isn't the general opinion. More than two songs have already been posted.
take off the rose colored glasses my dude.
the animations were so stiff it didn't feel good at all.
also beams doing one hit again completely didn't feel right at all.
>However it has a big flaw with the Dragon Rush being so common and required for certain attacks.
You forgot teleport spam.
Dont tell me you like this ffs lmao wtf is that? It sounds like me in 6 grade blowing some flute not knowing how to use it.
Take this!
youtu.be
>generic anime rock song is better than the dub songs that feel like royalty and the sub songs that feel like instrumental bliss
Look at this retard
Are you trolling? Perfrct cell theme has been considered one of the best themes in all of DB for decades by pretty much every fan base, no matter what music they prefer
Play Infinite World. It's 3 without Dragon Rush and a couple extra characters.
I get your point but still b2 won my heart.
And the ost is great btw.
Hyper mode is broken.
They don't lmfao
Fighterz has great music but no characters songs really feel like they were made for the character. They're just music pieces with a random name slapped on the title except maybe Janemba, which sounds like his movie theme in lots of ways
that and they couldn't be bothered to animate fail/defense wins cutscenes for the new characters so their ultimates are completely impossible to counter if you get hit by them. giving infinite ki mode on top of shin budokai-style spammable ultimates was a fucking mistake
NO BEAM STRUGGLES AHHHH
I literally played them both not even two weeks ago.
The underlying systems of the game are fundamentally the same, RB2 just has extra combat options that when you go back to play BT3 make it feel jarring.
Overall BT3 is probably a better game, but if you want to prove whose the best among your friends RB2 is the way to go. There is a higher skill cap that isn't "who can keep z countering until they lose ki first."
>teleports behind you
youtube.com
That is a really shit version of perfect cells theme fwiw, not sure why that was the one he linked
Gohan's theme has the rhythm guitar play a TOKUSENTAI leitmotif during certain sections which I thought was fun.
>weeb
You clown i grew up with the jap ost in the 90's while in the same time you thought that kamehameha was just an Hawaiian city.
And all the world agrees with me because we grew up with the og dbz, not the pimp my ride one
Bro. Every hit in RB2 felt like punching a sandbag, I'm not talking about the gameplay. I'm talking about how the game feels and looks and honestly it's "CLUNKY". Yeah, I'm using that word because that's how it honestly is.
>Bardock's ending in english

Americans simply can't enjoy soul, the japanese original dub is obviously superior.
japanese lost that soul in the remake.
well somewhat
not a big fan of the changes.
I'm firmly in the camp of liking the Funi dub voices better for Z (I can watch Dragon Ball in either Japanese or English but I cannot take grown men speaking so high-pitched seriously.)
When it comes to music for Z I am split. Faulconer was the stuff I grew up with and I still like a good part of it. The original score is definitely more fitting at points. Which is no surprise, it was written with the full original context in mind and it carries over the adventurous tone Dragon Ball started, the American dub wanted to focus more on the action. Watching things like Gohan going SSJ2 have so much more weight in Japanese both with the music and what the focus of the character is.
That too. Especially fuckers like Super and Kid Buu.
Based boomer
Take dragon rush’s out of Budokai 3 and it’s the best. And it might be the best anyway including them.
I mained Hercule every single DBZ fighting game
AMA
>by pretty much every fanbase
Lmao, dude stop it my sides can't take it anymore.
Dunno bro but the jap version is better anyway
1. Was there ever a game where he was actually viable for some reason?
2. Ever do the challenge of beating a beefed-up Hard CPU SSJ4 Gogeta with regular Hercule in BT3?
3. Did he ever have a super better than the one from Budokai 2 where he stages a picture of him standing on top of his opponent?
Best Super move coming through
Imagine being such a no life neet that all you do with your night is respond to 10 people that enjoy dub music by repeatedly saying you don't like the music.
Literal autism
>There is a higher skill cap that isn't "who can keep z countering until they lose ki first."
That's the thing though. Once you lose the ki, it's not the easiest thing to get back. The skill cap is in knowing how to make openings and how to exploit gaps in the enemy's style by teleporting and countering.
they took out dragon rush in infinite world
>do a big special like vegeta's big bang attack or something
>cuts to the planet getting a giant crater in it from the energy blast
>arena is completely destroyed and replaced with a barren wasteland
>opponent's scouter HP bar shatters into pieces
this shit always made my dick hard as a kid
Oh I understand what you're saying. 2 was a really good game. I would say that in terms of the series it is the game which improved the most from what came before.
I love the first three Budokai games because I have so many memories of them. And I seem to be recalling more as I go through this thread, which is nice.
Cringe
Unironically Kid Goku's SSJ4 in DBFZ is pretty close, but not exactly there. Even though it wasn't an install, fuck is it kino to use SSj4 Super Dragon Fist and see furfag Goku in Arc graphics
1.He is viable in all of them you just have to play differently then everyone else
2. I went to a local tournament and won, ive beaten all hard mode CPUs in all of teh games
3. I love his Super were he gives his opponent a gift runs away behind a rock and blows it up, it's unblockable and it is a great way to tilt
youtube.com
they both have some great tracks but to be honest some of the Bruce stuff really captures the character better
one of my favorite tracks for instance, so satisfying and appropriate for the clever, patient predator that Imperfect Cell was designed to be
to be honest I just really like Imperfect Cell a lot, Cells progression in general is really spectacular
Yeah yeah i know its a mobile game whatever
>souless
>base vegeta performing galick gun in frieza force gear
you can pick exactly 1
I played DBZ Budokai 3 so much.
Remember DBZ Budokai 1? I thought that shit was so revolutionary.
Then BASED DBZ Budokai 2 came out and I thought it was the ultimate.
Then 3 released and it was even better.
ALso, one of my favorite Box Arts. It's just so simple.
Shame once he goes Perfect his arc is over besides filler and two fights
I wouldn't go that far unless you're referring to minus specifically
youtube.com
What remake? The Minus with Baseddock?
In this case this shit doesn't exist.
x20 kamehameha was ironically more hype than SSJ transformation, no idea why the first ssj moment is remembered more often.
Oh sure I know, it's because the scene is less exciting to watch with the english dub :^)
Goku was so much more fun as a kid
W O W !
The same fucking song that plays in absolutely every serious scene in Kai. Just like how the Cell saga uses the same "fight song" for every fight, including multiple times per FUCKING EPISODE. It IS good in that scene, but it's run into the fucking ground.
my friend rented 3 from blockbuster and its the game that made me get a ps2 honestly
>I went to a local tournament and won
Did you do it without spamming?
I get why they replaced the soundtrack in the HD port on PS3, but that game is so nostalgic to me (seriously it, Smackdown vs Raw, Pokemon Sapphire and San Andreas were pretty much my entire childhood) that I can't play that remake solely because of it. Keep a PS2 copy around just in case I ever get the urge.
Kid Goku is the most fun character in B3 and exactly why I wanted him in Fighterz. Was pissed about the whole merging GT and Kid, but he's pretty much perfect honestly. Shame he's so broken so you just get hatemail even though him, Broly, and SS4 Gogeto were my mains in 3 and I just want to play them in DBFZ too. They managed to make him feel pretty similar to B3 which is all I wanted.
Agreed. Cell's tracks by Faulconer were all good.
I am biased because Cell was my favorite villain overall. A mix of all the strongest to that point, awesome designs, and the simple motive that he wants to be the best and that stems from various fighters who he is made from (including their flaws).
How's Fighterz on Switch?
Same for me lol.
Man the characters sure did yell out dumb shit when getting hit in this game.
>PUAR!!!
holy shit it's like the opposite of SOUL
what were they thinking?
I'm still trying to figure out a comfortable controller to play it on but it runs just fine
Wrong one.
youtube.com
I really appreciated how the japanese version carried music from the show.
youtube.com
this shit was so fucking hype, Nappa is my nigga
>a high pitched Luffy
Fucking disgusting.
Honestly BT3's OST itself was pretty great. It does this great thing where the melody is played by guitars and brass in unison, and it gives it a distinct sound that I'm surprised I don't hear in more game soundtracks.
Then of course you have SURVIVOR THE SUPER SURVIVOR
Saw this in 1993, never forgot this episode ever since.
Yeah Kid Goku / Gohan's new voice is atrocious, way to state the obvious retard, as if anyone will disagree or if that invalidates anything
I cam from the future to give you a seizure.
youtube.com
are you ready for 2020 kato? got the nippon ready for all the culture that will be on your islands? I fucking hope so its almost been 60 years now
the cover with ssj4 goku is much better
and yeah i played like 500 hours on budokai 3
the opening is just so good
The Faulconer OST isn't bad at all compared to some other shit that happened with dubs around that time, Digimon had such little love put into it Saban literally recycled their shitty "Masked Rider" OST for it.
>93
and a ching chong nip nong to you too mister
Lol no it was broadcasted in france at the time.
That outro is fucking pure unadulterated kino desu
As a kid I would always by random VHS tapes of episodes and I bought this one between the giant gap of Toonami airings and shat my fucking pants as a however old I was. Trunks has always been my favorite since. But Super Trunks isn't Trunks to me, entirely different character (and shit)
>It does this great thing where the melody is played by guitars and brass in unison
You mean it's not just synth? I've never been able to tell.
OBLIGATORY: youtube.com
Why did old school toei actually looked pretty good?
Sure there's a few fuckeries but overall Dragon Ball looked fucking great. I unironically prefer how anime looks back than now.
>mfw finding out the japanese version had lyrics
youtube.com
still prefer the instrumental but I'm pretty sure that's pure nostalgia talking. not kidding I played this game so much if someone told me to sing them the DBZ theme I'd hum this instead of cha la head cha la or DRAGON DRAGON ROCK THE DRAGON or whatever.
ha, i was thinking about Budokai 3 in the shower this morning. totally random. remember the Dragon Arena? that shit got so hard. i remember I almost beat this Rare Kid Buu in it, he was super high level or whatever it was. i remember reading if you beat him you unlock something. i slammed my controller on the ground when i lost. Only time I ever got mad at a vidya gaem and actually broke a peripheral
what a great game. you dont see that much content in games anymore. extra shit is just DLC
Hand drawn as opposed to MS Paint
Broly movie was hand drawn besides the shit CGI and looks amazing

That being said. DBS: Broly looks really good but it's not sustainable. DB while simple looks really good despite early animation problems.
Why do you have to emulate? Are the servers on the PS3 gone?
I was made when I realized i had the re-release. I was so fucking tired of the same old Tenkaichi soundtrack that they reused for 6 games or some shit
And dont forget the androids 14 and 15 and the member of Cooler's force. And the redone movie, even if the original cutscenes of that 90s game looked better.
So, what, is there another tournament going on?
It's because they used actual cels and what I imagine to be oil pastels for the backgrounds on top of talented staff.
toei's always been cheap it's just that cheap hand-drawn animation is still leagues better than merely "okay" digitals and absolutely shits on cheap digitals
I liked the CGI and don't mind animes which do full CGI. But im an exception and fucking love PS2 jank.
It's not even that. It's just the art style of being nice and simple is way better than the "overdesigned" generics in current anime. I'm probably sounding like a shitty boomer though.
Broly is fantastic because it still used cells and good animators
Yamamuro became a cancer to the seriesyoutube.com

Maeda for life for me. Shintani is pretty good though.
I like how even though Daisuke only does Guilty Gear music (and some of the earlier BB music), basically every ArcSys fighting game has some fucking shredding guitars in its OST because of his influence. DBFZ has some fucking bangers.

The Broly design was too minimalist to me and the backgrounds were 100% cgi trash. That said, I'd still take it over what we've been getting the past few years.
I prefer this one

this is amazing holy shit and im on BT3 all the time. This is one of the best things to come from DB if not the best.
Shintani is literally going to save Dragonball. The moment he got confirmed to be the animation director for Super once it returns I got excited to watch it when I thought I would never be actually interested in the weekly show again.
Yamamuro up to 2008 was honestly pretty good, but boy did everything after go to shit until Shintani.
I mean if it looked like Fighterz, or just not shit, it would be fine. But B3 looked better than the CGI in the movie. It was so stiff.
manga > maeda > yamamuro (Z) > fuck the rest
I doubt that's actually stupid energy, the energy produced by the stupidity of the main cast alone would be enough to power a dozen spirit bombs.
This trailer shouldn't have hit me as hard as it should but holy shit I wasn't sold on FighterZ until this trailer came out.
This is factually wrong as Yamamuro didn't direct all of DBZ.
2010 up until Shintani was a fucking disastrous mistake. Disgusting.
Patrician taste. Budokai 2 is better than 3 solely because combos don't always end in dodges or teleports.
Man, the art style was so nice but the over animation meme garbage killed it.
Z>maeda>yamamuro z>shintani>the rest
You're correct. The instrumental western versions of the B2&3 intros are superior. BT3's opening and most others are better with vocals because it's fucking Kageyama, but something about the melodies those two had worked so much better with the guitar performances playing them.
the cgi ruined the entire movie, not the overanimation. what the fuck were they thinking.
They already scale best to worst, just put Shitani on top of 2008 Yamamuro.
Yeah I watched it 100s of times probably. I think it's the best game trailer I've seen, except for maybe one of RE5's first trailers before that game was changed entirely due to nig backlash.

All trunks themes were kino
All the musicians do this shit honestly it's far too unfair, I'm sure if this took place in the US nothing would have happened as these cases seem to be found more often than most think.
Maeda and Yamamuro were the 2 lead designers throughout the series. Maeda from Dragon Ball to part way through Cell saga, and Yamamuro for the remainder of Z.
Recoome Ultra Fighting Bomber sounded the most intense in Budokai. Wish I could find a clip of it
Yeah, I'm really noticing it now. That's probably why I still love the ost to this day.

The Jap music sounds like fucking scooby doo music. Faulconer tracks sometimes overdid it and filled scenes that probably shouldn't have had music, but Jap shit has nothing even close to stuff like the Frieza-Ginyu beat, SSJ3 transformation, or Buu is fighting. The jap music is all really generic and samey and fucking bland. It has no emotion or balls and may as well not even exist. Who the fuck wants to listen to scooby doo music in the middle of a fight?
Not quite, since frieza saga to buu saga you could see some changes in character drawings
>music is still fucking amazing
This makes me happier.
Enter CHADren
I might be wrong on my timelines, but they were the lead designers at one point.
>post more
Dude im the only one posting jap ost in this thread.
>never fails to deliver
True
Speaking as a huge unironic web purist fag, the music you linked is more tonally appropriate for DBZ than the jap ost.
Yeah, his style evolved as time went on. Just like the last 50 posts have been talking about. He forced animation directors to adhere to his style more, with less freedom, as Z went on until it was pretty much nonstop in Buu (which is the best Z ever looked, as Yamumuro was a god then and peak kino DB). It wasn't until 2008 / Super where he fell off a fucking cliff, but still enforced his style on directors. Only Takahashi, who did like 5 episodes in the ToP deviated from this style and his is basically just Buu Yamumuro.
I actually forgot this song existed. Fuck it's so good.
Bitch please you embarrassing yourself.
youtube.com
This scooby doo was responsible for the deaths of your friends
>It has no emotion or balls and may as well not even exist.
You haven't listened to half the shit posted in this thread.
Kid Goku was my main in B3 too but I hate that he's in fighterz. He's annoyingly small, broken, and I absolutely despise how overused he's being.
Falseflag 101
You misunderstood my statement, let me rephrase.
You could see a change in the character drawings from an episode to an other back and forth since the frieza saga.
Example, episode 120 and episode 121 dont have the same character style of drawing. (true example)
Man, the theme of DBZ radically changes not only from anime soundtracks but also games. The jap is a bombastic orchestra usually besides select scenes (and late series, particularly in Kai) which keeps it grounded in its martial arts origins. Faulconer turns everything into a much darker and edgier thing that is super serious besides the lighthearted music bits for comedy moments and slice of life. And all the games flip between YEAH ROCK THE FUCK ON WHOOOO and grungier bits of darker atmosphere, when they aren't weird and all over the place.
I wish Super had soul like this. Fuck.
I love RB2 user don't worry
too bad that game wasn't...that good lol
The score is completely uninspired and has gone through several composers since the Boo arc of Kai. The most consistent motif is the use of opera for godly transformations and it's still shit.
No shit. That has nothing to do with the animation supervisor, which Yamamuro was. That's literally what my post talked about. Each episode is done by a different director, with their own style in cycles of 5-8 episodes at a time being made. So episode 1 and 9 would be done by the same person, but then that episode would be touched up by Yamumuro who became hitler in Buu (good) / Super (bad).
The trailers looked amazing but the thing that killed it was that out of all the crazy fun mechs in it, only one was playable in single-player; the rest are all multi-player only which sucks. Also the game didn't launch with all the modes it promised to have. Maybe one day the game will be more complete and I'll get it then. Devs can't be all bad if they got Kageyama on board.
I just fucking hate the way FighterZ looks. It doesn't look like either the manga or anime at all to me, I don't care what you say. The anime didn't have this much shading on the hair and shit, looks more like Super to me (though I haven't seen much Super)
>flickers of yellow ki
That was a pretty damn nice touch.
Kill yourself. Holy shit.
I wasnt talking about animation in the first place m8 but whatever.
No you
I posted that and you're literally retarded. Fighterz is pure Soul
This fucking frame, Christ. This is the money shot.
youtube.com
Anyone who thinks Super is as good as Z is an embarrassment to their family and country
I think that has more to do with the color palette. The older games are actually closer because of the detail. ex: in BT3 mid Goku has undefined flowing hair while end Goku has golden spikes
What are you talking about I wasn't pretending to be anyone, I was just adding to the topic by saying I think FighterZ looks soulless. I didn't imply I was anyone else in the thread at all
Where is he?
>admits to having been shitposting/baiting just to call somebody out for agreeing with it
Holy shit.
No, I'm saying I was the one who said Fighterz was soulless in the first place, which you agreed with. I'm telling you that you're the only person that actually thinks that because it's literally soul
>Check out my Spirit Bomb Sword

I have no idea what caused Yamamuro to lose so much soul but it hit him hard.
i dont understand how vegeta's first galic gun there was enough to destroy the whole planet. It seems like they nerfed beams drastically since that battle. Freezer's death ball destroying namek in 5 minutes? maybe i can buy that.
Remember when you posted this in Yea Forums and got a lot of (You)'s?
>Freezer's death ball destroying namek in 5 minutes? maybe i can buy that.

Gogeta not having a song based on this will be incorrect no matter how hype it is. youtube.com

no joke, i have been looking for it since the day the video came out

I might be retarded but I thought the threat was it would end life on the planet, so more of a meteor to the dinosaurs sorta thing. Might have just been a different translation.
Agreed. Reminds me a lot of Subhuman from DMC5 where the REEEEEEing was endless when leaked / Dante trailer was revealed, only for everyone to jizz to it nonstop later

See, I wouldn't be interested anymore if that happened. It'd be one thing to just have the full theme playing on loop, but nothing would match the nut busting that would occur when you switch to Gogeta to land his Level 3 while 2:36 starts blaring.
This might be good if not for the retarded screams in the background.
even still, seems disproportionate to his power level at the time. Although it makes since since him and Nappa genocide other planets constantly. It just doesn't add up, like Goku and crew have been spamming kakehameha waves since Dragonball, but they always seem so much weaker than "destroy all of a planet" ya know? And I like ot imagine galick canon and kamehameha are about the same considering they have the beam struggle.
It's too deep for you, sorry :/
>GOGETA
>CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER

I sort of agreed until I saw the movie. That retarded screaming is actually really hype in context
I just want Super Broly's theme to incorporate some of Blizzard youtube.com
Shit just make the instrumental version his theme

You're literally at stage one, retard. We all went through it; hating the song, thinking it was going to ruin the movie along with the GO BROLY GO GO song, only to see the movie and find it insanely hype (especially in theater sound quality). Come back at least when you're at stage 4.
You forgot
>does the anime galick gun that completelys envelopes him.
>His Level 1 ends up being what he did to SSG Goku that goes to the beat of this song's bass
That'll be 14.99 for music pack 3 :^)
>Not posting the best theme

Whis is one of the best things in Super that isn't power level related.
I honestly never really liked this one. Not even the best of his own event.

How do you emulate RB2? Thought that was only on 360 and ps3 and there aren't any emulators for those two. Are there?
How much presence every punch and blast had in this fight was fucking nuts. If the anime comes back and retreads this, there's no way in hell it's topping this fight in every facet from sound design to pacing. Maybe I'm just a tired fan but Dragonball action has reached far too high to ever be any slower than this video. We seriously don't need every step of the fight explained to us or drawn out. Just give me the juice unfiltered and in a ten minute timeframe at the very most.
That explains it, I didn't see it in theaters so I'm not blinded by hype or your stage bullshit. Maybe it was good in the moment, but it's shit as a piece.
>he doesn't know
Gogeta is seriously so much better than Vegito it's fucking ridiculous. And I like Vegito a shitton. Gogeta is so fucking kino
DROP DEAD
Tell me! What do I not know????
Have you been living under a rock for the past 3 years?
Wait. Is there finally a ps3 emulator??
Why does Gogeta feel like the villain here lol, never watched the movie and I get that it's about making him sympathetic or whatever but damn
Gogeta also has the unfair upperhand in how he's presented because he's currently movie only and all the bullshit is cut that you would see in the anime. If this arc gets put into Super if the anime comes back you know that fight is going to be dragged out into three episodes and more of Broly being able to fight back and allow Gogeta to job a little before going Blue.
Because he's beating up a legit retard and acting cocky while doing it
Rpcs3
It's perfectly okay to have bad taste, user. No one is judging you.
Nah he's better in Janemba, Broly, AND GT
As long as it comes with; youtube.com

and Frieza's theme from Resurection
It might be worth it
It's just the fact that he NEVER STOPS. The fight as an actual power struggle was officially over when Gogeta went Blue and the rest was just Gogeta playing with his food.
>AND GT
No.
Jeebus, thank you!
Can finally try RB2 and other games I've never played on ps3 before
Explain what makes it good without using "hype" or any derivative and without ommisions.
You're already upset and on the defensive. You're just going to deflect what I say no matter what it is. I'll answer you later.
Because it definitely portrays him in a light like that. That final Kamehameha with bloodlust that zooms in on his eye, for example.
In his defense, I hated the song in theaters then I gave it a rewatch.
GO BROLY COME ON BROLY
GOGETA GOGETA GOGETA
Well it's the most well designed fight in the series so yeah, it definitely won't be topped by a shit anime
Try me, just make a convincing argument that doesn't rely on momentary excitement.
>A fucking gatcha phone game has better music than most AAA console/PC games
Guess all that whale blubber went to hiring kick ass musicians
The first time I heard it was on Teach's stream in a surprisingly hype Broly vs Vegeta semi-final match
The song was leaked in October of last year and I'm listening to it a year later, has nothing to do with "momentary excitement"
Shit I'm 30; I'm supposed to be the angry old man who doesn't like things. Get a grib and enjoy life, zoomer
>GO BROLY COME ON BROLY
>GOGETA GOGETA GOGETA
this fucking part dude, it is undeniably and immensely cringe. But I keep wanting to hear it. It's still just funny in my mind. I like it but its so weird and jarring and i cannot believe people unironically think it fits and/or is epic.
Again, I love listening to it, but it's like watching The Room, so cringe it's good.
SEQUEL WHEN?!?!
Before you say anything, that guy is a different user.
>has nothing to do with "momentary excitement"
What does it have to do with then?
dude, you just gotta let it flow. once you accept it, you'll be saying it along too.
CHOOOOSE YOUR FIGHTERRRRRRR
Not being a retarded edgy teen who thinks he needs to have a deep reason for liking things
It has to do with other anons hijacking our conversation before I got to give my answer.
>momentary excitement.
That's the only reason why the song is "good" but y'know what that doesn't fucking mater. It's a stupid song but it perfectly enhanced the mood for the scene it was in and is actually pretty memorable considering how many Anons can remember the fight when they hear it. Besides that transition into a high tempo instrumental version of Blizzard at the mid way point of the song was inspired
This game's only sin was not having OG and GT characters. The models in this game are so pretty, I would love to see SSJ4.
Sorry, you need to be Mexican to understand; the three songs were put in the movie specifically because of how Mexico reacted to Jiren vs Goku
Besides the beginning of the lyrics, this one is way better once the OWAAAAYOOOOOs start
Everyone hated the songs when they leaked, user. Yet now everyone who hated them seems to love them. Voodoo magic
Not only music
This one is at least better because it blends the voices in with the melody instead of interfering with it.
You're full of shit.
Okay then, that's perfectly fine but I doubt I'll ever be into it unless I watch the movie again above camcorder quality.
I'd actually like to know how much overseas fans really influence db.
gonna be a longshot, but anyone have any dragon ball midis I can have?
I wanted to try learning some dbz songs but triggerpro is way too expensive for 8 USD for one song and im a poorfag :(

This is pretty good too youtube.com

SHARK AND AWE
Maybe if it covers his training above the heavens, explains his growth spurt, and ties into the inner workings of UI.
I was hoping of more post piccolo jr but pre raditz.
Nothing much to cover there, maybe an SoL with Gohan like the Cell arc filler.
FEEL THE VOID
I was thinking there's a wedding tradition that Chichi needs a "Special Item" or some shit but because Ox King burnt his house, Goku is sent off to find the dragon balls. At the same time, red ribbon is looking to get revenge on Goku with a NEW MEGA HYPER ROBOT and Eighter goes along with Goku to stop this new menace.
IT'S TIME TO TAKE OUT THE TRASH
THE END HAS COME
I like both the Faulconer, Kikuchi, and Yamamoto score.
Kikuchi's score is unqestionably great for OG dragon ball, and it's iconic as hell for much of DBZ too, with the score's fight tracks playing while fights go on in deserts, vallyes, and fields fit perfectly; he's got a real talent for almost a "old western" feel and traditional japanese style tracks, and his score is much better suited to the lighter scenes'; but the problem is that his score doesn't often really reflect the true gravitas and stakes of the situation darker scenes. DBZ is actually pretty fucking dark when you think about some of the shit that goes on, and it's also filled with tons of sci-fi elements, and some really surreal shit.
Faulconer's does all that perfectly. The use of synth is able to stress the sci-fi and ostensible horror elements. It's also got a lot of more ambient tracks that soound otherworldy aand surreal that enhances the mystique of certaiin scenes
Imperfect Cell's introduction is a good example of all of the above, since it also has cutaways to popo on the lookout, with one of the score's surreal tracks, and (he music when he starts to asborb the dude is fucking 10/10 at setting the tone, and the eerie atmospherric synth with the loneyless of the city before that
youtube.com
Other good examples:
Android 19/20 showing up: youtu.be
The time chamber/gohan's innocence theme: youtu.be
The Yamamoto score I'm less able to articulate myself on but it's good, I like it. It's not as uniquely focused/excelling in one area as the Kikuchi or faulconer score; but it does a good job representing the series's epic nature.
my favorite fighter game is spongebob.
Remember when you have a violent confrontation with Plankn as final boss?
The game isn't about fighting.
They already got Hero Song of Hope in a pack but I hope you like hearing shortened versions of damn near everything
Nothing in this thread is fighting. It's just weebs complaining about crappy rock songs.
