It's really no good man. I played through it with the origin gamepass, the visuals are all muddied up, you have to unlock runner abilities in that awful token skill tree way like far cry 3's tattoos, and because it's open world(ish) there's a real prevailing feeling of a lack of focus in level design. Give it a try if you have the origin pass, I can say it wasn't for me.

Literally can skip all fights except for Ravel, Trias and your nemesis in the Fortress of Regrets.
Even then, it's not that terrible, playing mage gives you a couple fun spells to use on mobs, the aforementioned mandatory fights aren't bad, and even if you don't skip fights by running there are really few of them needed to complete the game.
The Modron maze is the only true "really fucking terrible mind numbing combat" part, and yet you can skip all of them (and the boss fight at the end is not bad at all).

Mirror's Edge is right up the middle of the uncanny valley of combat. It feels ALMOST good enough to make you feel cool. The disarms are cool, it's cool that you can grab the weapon and use whatever remains in its magazine with no hud or crosshair, but it somehow just feels kind of floaty. Honestly, that might be the problem with the whole game.
