I agree on some things but you can actually skip cutscenes, the combat is not hard but there's a nice enough of depth. I wish the regular combat scenarios were a bit more difficult but the bonus combat shrines add a nice bit of challenge. Kamiya made Okami under the pretense of "folklore shouldn't be difficult".
