DMC5 got close, too when "Silver Bullet" kicked in. But it was my first DMC, so the weight of that moment didn't hit me as much as some of the longtime fans.

Devil May Cry 5
The perfect reveal at E3, Itsuno and Matt Walker becoming the homies, Devil Trigger becoming a meme, them telling us it would EXCEED EXPECTATIONS, only for it to come out and actually fucking exceed everyone's expectations. I bought it day 1 in march and have not stopped playing it, like I just turned off my ps4 a couple minutes ago after playing for a few hours. It is the greatest action game ever made and the 1 2 punch of that and RE2 Remake somehow living up to my 17 years of waiting really made me feel passion for games again. Thank you Capcom, you are no longer Crapcom to me anymore.

Richter in Smash and the new FFVII Remake

How does a video game make you feel something when it's not even out? Get as hype as you want about the trailers, but a trailer is not a game. Come back in a few months and let us no how disappointed you will inevitably be and how wrong you were on this day. Try getting hype for a project that actually has some respect for your time.

In terms of excitement? Right now honestly, I've had PSVR for the past few months and it's cool but I finally got the Moves coming in the post soon too and am excited for those. Looking forward to shit like Superhot VR or Skyrim with those controls.

In terms of excitement specifically from a game itself, probably platinuming Wipeout Omega Collection recently while listening to Macross music on repeat. Fun as fuck and a pretty damn tough game to plat (sub-0.1% platinum rate).

Hollow Knight

I don't know how to tell you this mate but I think you've got me confused with someone else entirely. I'm mainly an FPS guy and FFVII is one of the few RPGs I've played. It's among my favourite games of all time and the remake announcement was one of the greatest video game announcements in recent memory. So to answer your question, absolutely zero care for it. But I can sympathise with you, you seem rather distraught by it. Is your current attitude a defensive mechanism brought on by the disappointment you felt?

Unironically was excited that my favorite character was going to be a major player in the new saga. KH games and their fucking retarded stories are my guilty pleasure

The new Guilty Gear trailer

I couldn't find a proper screenshot of this shot anywhere so I YouTube'd it. All I got was e-celeb garbage that was about moba tripe, so I had to specify the game. Then all I found of the original was this one low res video. So I took a screenshot of it.

Years of squeenix torturously drawing out the development of highly anticipated game for no good reason until they're watered down disappointments has taught us to never trust them to produce a satisfying product in a reasonable amount of time ever again. Now you expect us to be hype for an episodic remake of a game from a time when Final Fantasy games were genuinely rich with content when the first episode has already dipped into vaporware status at one point and the last episode likely won't come out in our lifetimes...

...and we're the loons.

Attached: 1548292677153m.jpg (1024x727, 99K)

yes, and I don't want you to fall for the same fate with FF7 user. The fact they're going with an episodic format should be forewarning enough that they're going to botch it.

Underrated. Shame that this game was another victim of console warring on Yea Forums and never got the praise where it was due. Swinging around NYC was comfy and the story was amazing. Hopefully, in the eventual sequel, they can make combat more engaging and fun and make creative side quest.

>Fighting game
Ah I'll pass

its bizarre how little i see the game get talked about. it's probably the only puzzle/story game to pull me in since i was a kid. the entire time i was thinking "this would not work at all if this wasn't a videogame". The only time I've really paid attention to a video games story in a looooooong time.

I can't remember the last time anything made me feel like pic related.

Every time I play Melee.

Though it's not just Melee...

Something about early 2000s video games. Seems like that was the golden era.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 on the ps2.

I was playing a vs split screen on hoth with my friends and I was Darth Vader.

Just as he was about to lose (He was very bad at the game) he picked the rocket launcher rebel and attempted to kill me one last time.

The idiot aimed the rocket directly at me and I reflected it back to his ass, just as he died and his corpse went flying all over the map I won.

It was one of the best moments I renember from that game.

The genre isn't for everyone, yeah. But if you were ever interested the current Guilty Gear is a great game, and there's quite a few new players showing up because of the new one.

Sleeping Dogs
Specifically the Lee fight at the end

That's what made it great, though; they took something lame and turned it into something awesome.

I got the most hyped when vergil started flying

There's a subreddit for everything, retard.

CoH, psychonauts 2, ff7r ctr:r and dmc5 were all never-evers that wound up happening. Together with ff15, kh3, Last Guardian, SotCR, and on non-vidya related notes, FLCL seasons 2 and 3, new Hey Arnold movie, new Invader Zim movie, new Power Rangers movie, American Death Note movie, and Avengers 3 and 4, 2017 through 2019 has been a pretty hype time for me.

...Sadly, ff7r, ctr:r, ff15, kh3, FLCL season 2, American Death Note, and Marvel movies in general have all blown up in my face, but the others were great, and the hype was fun while it lasted.

I also really enjoyed the game when it came out. But the reaction image level of excitement was for the reveal of the gameplay.

honest answer - watching TI yesterday, EG vs Secret.

Ultima Online. Real boomer hours.

Been chasing the feeling ever since. FFXI, DAOC, WoW, FF14... I played them and more all at their peak and they all sucked in comparison (especially 14). I'm kinda resigned to the fact that I'll never get joy out of an MMO like UO again.

>RDR2 Has good gunplay guys!
>aiming cursor jerk jerk jerks
>obvious aim assist
Anything that involves aiming and shooting on a console is a fucking joke.

I remember that. A shame playing it never came anywhere near that level of hype for me. Loved the start though.

Yeah it wasn't AS hype but I still really fucking loved that game. First time I saw a dragon flying through the sky almost recaptured that hype. I was pretty floored. I was like "do I attack it?"

You poor bastard

>First time I saw a dragon flying through the sky almost recaptured that hype
Same. Something about it just felt really awe inspiring and majestic. Though that feeling kind of plummeted the moment I realized what they were for.

Fucking this. I only played the ringed city recently, and that fight really lived up to the hype.
Demon prince and Midir are pretty good, too. And I love being spear of the church.

yeah once I had to farm a bunch of them they lost their mystique.
Still, fun game all around. I don't regret buying it day 1 and playing it for a few hundred hours at all. It's also the last time I've really fired up a console multiple days in a row. I usually don't like console gaming because it gets kinda lonely really, since I'm not playing multiplayer with other people or on VOIP with people at the bare minimum, and it's not like I'd have other people in the room watching me play a single player game.

When I won a game of skribbl.io :)

FUCK YOU
>B-BANG I'LL ENDURE THE EXILE
Beat me to it

Unironically the one game I wanted to get ported to the switch and hasn't yet.

I dont even know. I haven't felt excited for anything in forever.

prob this unironically. I was like 10 years old and dumb but I had played a few of the previous MGS titles, and even then I knew the sheer emotion this fight brought (especially considering it came immediately after Snake crawling for dear life through a fucking nuclear chamber)

Unrelated, but why the fuck hasn't Nintendo made a Pokemon MMO?

A couple weeks ago when I beat the time trial on Oxide Station in CTR

Bridge to the Turnabout

...

I was in a really bad slump, no game felt worth playing. My friend and I tried this game together and that revitalized my interest in gaming again. D:OS2 stoked the fire some more, but most thanks goes to D:OS.

that game revitalized turn based RPGs for me. I had for years thought they were all boring trash where you just mash attack every turn all characters and wondered why the fuck is it turn based when there's next to no strategy or depth involved in it. I still haven't played 2 because I'm a bit tired of fantasy settings and have been on a sci fi kick.
