i still havent played last guardian, thanks for reminding me it exists.

i love the Ueda games and I'm more excited for what he'll make next, now that he's free. much like kojumble.

SotC is one of my favorites, masterpiece, haven't played Ico and I'm not sure if playing TLG is a good idea on the PS4
I have a Pro but supposedly it drops even in 1080p mode

>now that he's free

huh? I never knew he was enslaved by anyone, what do you mean?

lol same. It's been on my backlog since it released.

What're they making next? Do we have any info on their next game?

i just mean free of the creative burden of an unfinished project stuck in development hell. Nobody likes to leave things unfinished but I still applaud him for sticking around to see it through, for good or bad. he was stuck working on the same ideas -- now we can see what else he's got.

last guardian was easily game of the generation for me

would like to see him do something a bit different, would be happy for him to make another game regardless though

oh, and play ICO. it's fucking beautiful and wonderful.

there's his site which just has this image of a giant paw and a girl on an altar, and he's said it's not a sequel but probably a game in the same universe as you can tell from the image

will I enjoy it if I'm not big on puzzles?

redpill me on TLG

oops, that pic is a shitty res, have this

Attached: 22.png (1884x1026, 780K)

Depends on how long it'll take to make.

>pic
neat. i'm in.

i don't recall ICO having crazy intricate puzzles; more like places where you've got to figure out how a mechanism works or something. i could be wrong though

Not the guy you replied to but TLG is GOTY 2016

Reviewers are speds who have gotten so used to Assassin's Creed and Uncharted having all of their platforming sections automated that theyre completely thrown off by TLG having a jump button that needs to be pressed AND PRESSED AT THE RIGHT TIME!

They also complain about Trico not doing what they want and not being able to control it directly. THAT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE PLAYING AS A BOY FORMING A BOND WITH THIS MAGICAL BEAST! IF THEY LET YOU CONTROL THE BIRDOG THEN WHY EVEN BOTHER HAVING THE BOY IN THE GAME AT ALL?

tl;dr people are retards who completely missed the point.

The worst part about the Last Guardian bomb was that it'll likely force him to consider SotC 2.

yeah that's sorta the impression i got, people bitching about the unruly beast acting like an unruly beast

i think he's got too much artistic credibility for that. And i don't mean that in terms of a fart-sniffing """auteur"""; he just seems like a guy who likes to work on original ideas

My interest didn't die just because the Sony hype train abandoned him. I actually lost interest in Sony and don't have a PS4.

I have the platinum trophy on all 3 games including both PS3 and PS4 SOTC and would buy another Ueda game day 1

Capitalism is the bane of creative guys.

He spoke on it a bit in an interview - It'll be a puzzle game. Guiding gigantic statues - Kinda like if in SotC, you worked WITH the bosses instead of tried to kill them.

So, get ready for the A.I. to fucking kill you again. And again. And again.

>he went lizard farming not once, but twice

Attached: SHAZULK!.jpg (330x381, 40K)

sure, but for all its problems, sony does have a long history of letting jap creators make weird jap shit instead of forcing them to do sequels.

So more escort missions?

So which one do you guys think is the best of these three? I played a little of Ico and of course finished SotC, so naturally I'll throw my chip in with SotC. It's up there with Okami in my 3x3.

>redpill me on TLG

trico feels like a big dog and i love him

Why the fuck would TLG finish it off for me when it absolute fucking kino? Are you some kind of retard, OP?

>Narrative
Ico > Last Guardian > SotC

>Atmosphere
SotC > Ico > Last Guardian

>Gameplay
SotC > Last Guardian > Ico

>Camera
Last Guardian > Ico >>> SotC

>Controls
Ico > SotC >>> Last Guardian

Overall, I enjoy playing SotC more than the others. I probably won't go back to Last Guardian, and I'll generally ignore Ico unless I get a 2nd player to join, which makes it much less frustrating.

Also, nothing will to the feeling in SotC of watching the Sand Dragon fly the fuck up out of the desert, and then realizing you have to ride on it to kill it.

He meant were you satisfied with the conclusion to the trilogy, you dumbass.

I thought it was great, but I don't need anymore.

>a 2nd player

A what now.

>will I enjoy it if I'm not big on puzzles?

More or less. The A.I. in Ico is pretty good and will generally solve the puzzle for you, but you have to make sure you're in the right place at the correct time.

It's a short game, ~4 hours, so I'd say it's worth a playthrough.

>TLG
Great story. Gameplay and Puzzles are decent.
The A.I. really does act like it's own separate entity, so while it does feel great when you'v finally built up the bond with it and it listens to you, it can be pretty annoying to start the game off as you'll know what to do but the game can just sit there for 20 minutes not letting you progress.

The PS4 version is much easier to platinum. You do not have to collect all the lizards and you do not have to eat all of the invisible fruit in the forbidden garden. Obviously HTA is much easier as well.

In Ico, Yorda becomes controllable once you've beat the game once.

It was available in the Japanese and PAL versions, and in the HD collection, but not in the original NA release.

Ico as a solo experience was fun, but I don't care to go back to it. As a co-op experience, it's fun enough to play again.

Oh that's neat. Yeah, that one or two hours I played with ICO game me the impression that it was a pretty smart and atmospheric game, but Yorda was just clunky enough for a second playthrough to be irritating. Glad to know you get to play it with your SO on subsequent runs.

according to one of the 4 developer interviews the team did post tlg the villagers actually call out the boy's name when he's stolen by trico, did anyone ever work out what the boy's name was based on this?

Trico works perfectly and performs the commands given flawlessly, the problem is that people spam buttons because they want him to act immediatly like a machine instead of a proper fictional animal.

SoTC remains my favourite. ICO is a mixed one for me, but I liked it overall. Last Guardian was kind of meh.

>Co-op ICO
Sounds fun. Might ask my brother to play with me.
Is there a way to play Emulator co-op Online in any way?

>Emulator co-op Online
Yes
>PS2 Emulator co-op Online
No

Waiting for the PS5 to play TLG but I recently played Ico and SotC again. Ico still holds up very well for me but SotC I had to drop at colossus 13 or 14. Everything about that game is great except for the gameplay, what a drag.

Fuck.
Also what Emulators support online co-op out of curiosity? First time I hear of it.

Here you go.

emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Netplay

Long story short, it's a bit of a mess.

Local Multiplayer emulation is either laggy as fuck, or there's desyncs galore. Certain systems work relatively fine such as NES and MegaDrive, but others are god awful such as VBA-LINK.

Online Multiplayer emulation is generally fine oddly enough, as long as a server can be hosted or connected to.

PS2's local mutiplayer emulation for online co-op works (terribly) for ~6/7 fighting games, and that's literally it, and the devs abandoned the project.

>Online Multiplayer emulation is generally fine oddly enough, as long as a server can be hosted or connected to.
I heard about this, didn't Outbreak get it's servers back online?
>Local Multiplayer emulation is either laggy as fuck, or there's desyncs galore.
Shit
>PS2's local mutiplayer emulation for online co-op works (terribly) for ~6/7 fighting games, and that's literally it, and the devs abandoned the project.
So ICO probably won't work on it I presume? That sucks. I've heard some people say Parsec can work on it and allow for Local Online Multiplayer, would that theoretically work?

I only liked SotC anyway. ICO sucked.

>didn't Outbreak get it's servers back online?
Havent heard of it yet, but I hope so.

>Shit
Honestly, it's to be expected. Emulators in general will do one of two things when trying to run local co-op via an online connection:
1. Run two copies of the game, one on each system, and send inputs/results to each other. Especially when there's any amount of randomness in a game, this usually ends up with Desyncs.
2. Run one copy of the game on the host system, and stream video and receive commands from the other system. This works, and avoids desyncs, but holy fuck does it generally lag.
Things like Mario 64 online co-op work because they run off the second one and there's major code modifications that help to mitigate lag, though it still lags really heavily.

>So ICO probably won't work on it I presume? That sucks. I've heard some people say Parsec can work on it and allow for Local Online Multiplayer, would that theoretically work?
Nope, ICO is out. The problem is that the higher in the generations you go, the more information has to be sent back and forth between systems, and the laggier and laggier it gets until it's unplayable. Parsec will do exactly that - You'll connect, but probably take an hour to play 5-10 minutes worth of content. If you're close it won't be nearly as bad, but you get the idea.

The lizards are nothing compared to the hints of The Last Guardian.

Attached: 1471023343409.jpg (234x250, 14K)

Fuck the hints don't remind me

Shit that sucks then, thanks for telling me this stuff though, I learn something new everyday.

I mean, eventually when everything's fiber it might be a little better.
For now though, older systems such as NES, MegaDrive, and even some SNES and PS1 games work fairly well. Dolphin CAN have it work, but Kirby's Air Ride is a hot mess.

So, give it a few more years and try again really, or just enjoy the 4th generation and older.
