Even mods have limits... AI pathing is supposed to be very similar to Warband and they kinda behave very much like Warband from what I have seen. Like groups of soldiers all focusing on the same enemy who can't even be reached and stuff like that. Walking into walls a little while facing sideways and so on..

I'm sort of sick of m&b's combat, it's too easy to game in that way especially if you have good armor by just walking backwards

Even if the AI is like Warband, with complex formation it shouldnt be too hard to use yor troops like a Total War game, forcing them to move as squads, staying together and not break formation

Bad trailer desu. If you're not gonna show UI elements, then you can make trailers not possible with gameplay but still using the engine. They should've shown shieldwalls being charged by infantry and cavalry. They should've showed archers on a cliff raining down fire on light infantry and obliterating them, they should've shown two cavalry charges slamming into eachother.

How was trading and owning businesses in Warband, really? Did you ever get to see the buildings you bought or constructed?

I stuck to working as an active vassal for the Vaegir— unending border wars— so I hardly even got to see my own town, let alone start upgrading it (or buying businesses in other places). No you just paid an upfront cost and they started printing money. From all industry buildings only 3 are usually viable and in 75% of cases its the silk dye workshop.

He just kept getting into fights where I joined in, I went from scandinavian sea rapist to vodka-swilling taiga tiger in a month and then he handed me half the realm. Great first proper game and learned to love a unit playstyle I didn't expect to, I'd recommend to anyone to just traipse around and see what comes naturally, you get some of the craziest games that way.

Niches*, plural, user. People who wanted medieval strategy went to those games and people who wanted medieval first-person combat went to others. I think there WAS a place for M&B, but it's not there anymore, and this comes from someone who spent hundreds of hours playing and enjoying mods.

Any roleplaying plans for it, or are you just happy to be a legionnaire in the base game?Vlandia will probably be the closest you get to French/Franks. Cannons, almost definitely no. Female characters were in Warband, so almost definitely yes. Religion will probably be only a background element again, not a major focus.
