I think lorewise she's responsible for the design of the roads for the town's expansion, but in terms of the actual story I remember her having some level of significance in the Bachelor's route in P1, so maybe she'll be more important when (or if) they release it for P2.

Yeah, she works for/with the Kains, so to the Bachelor she must be important as it were the Kains who invited him.
But to the Haruspex shes pretty insignificant.

She serves as a very important character for Bachellor's personal development, but I'm pretty sure she is one of Changelings Bound, isn't she?

Anyway, within the logic of the world, she serves as a bridge between the "civilized world" and the "steppe mysteria", as she managed to somehow align both in her head. Early into original's Bachellor route she has some of the most important dialogues within his storyline, and without her, his character development would not really make much sense.
But we'll see how (if) they treat her in the next chapter of the remake.

Big Vlad also serves this role, though I think in a more practical worldly sense of the cultures. I can't recall if their family as any direct relations to Yulia.

Big Vlad is a bruteforce kind of person. He does not give a flying fuck about the Steppe Culture, as far as he is concerned they are less than animals. He does not know anything about them, and he does not care.

Yulia came into the town with very similar outlooks as Daniil did. She was an absolute sceptic, mathematician and pure rationalist: there was no space for mysticism in her head. Yet over the years she spend there, she actually accepted and embraced the mystical and magical elements of the Town, and she provides very solid reasoning as to why.

Bachellor, I feel, is supposed to go through a very similar transformation, as he enters the town a textbook englihtenist rationalist, and ends up willing to kill to preserve a miracle.

That "BUG REPORT, there are three Claras" genuinely made me laugh.

If you watched mandalore's review of the first one, you might want to watch the review of the second one, as he does very good job explaining the differences and similarities.

But the general answer is no: the game is far more involving and far more focused. It's a lot harder too. It's far more stresfull as a result though. Where as in Pathologic 1 you would spend a lot of time wondering around the city aimlessly, in Pathologic 2 you spend most of your time feeling overwhelmed by all the things you need to do but don't have the time for.

Just keep soldiering on. You'll see: shit gets a LOT worse, but then, just like in real life, you just learn that it becomes strangely easier all of the sudden. Not that the game gets easier. But making decisions will. After you'll lose your first characters, after you'll get stuck in your first death loop, you just start to think a little differently. And it will be beautiful.

It is part of the story, you'll be hinted at first because people assume you killed Isidor. It'll stop after a while BUT anythin you did during that time like murdering civilians or robbing houses will still stay with you, so just try and avoid people. Besides, 2v1 isn't good odds in this game.

Changeling could probably try and heal crowds of people [or at least lessen their pain in return for an increase in reputation at a health/fatigue cost] Pockets of people around the town begging to be treated.

The Bachelor has the same old problem. He's tutorial mode, unrelated to the town, all he can really do is shuffle papers around, or stare through his microscope. Creating vacines may be an option, but it's more related to Rubin's progress. The Bachelor is pretty limited to just stumbling round, fucking up and relying on scavenging powders to keep his head above water, or using Panacea from the Haruspex.

On the flip side to this, given what a useless twat he is, it would make for an incredibly stressful playthrough.

Bachelor has the unique position of being able to see the situation from above, since the three families regularly come to him with advice with what to do.

I beat it around Western launch on Steam, I think before they made JESUS FISH easier to draw out, though easier than its original release as Turgor. I remember tanking in my first run after my anikis arrived and ate all my fucking gardens dry, but my subsequent run was pretty easy other than the Pangolin encounter taking ten years since he liked to avoid my trapped mobs. The prayers to color playing against a boss theme during the brother fights was fucking kino.

The only thing I'd say that'd probably be hard to accomplish is to save a certain sister since it's an endgame event that can catch you off guard

It’s the most beautiful and thought-provoking game I’ve never beaten. I do a little better each time but the color RNG hates you and it’s easy to waste what you have. Still, I play it a bit, back myself into a corner, play something else, and come back. One day I’ll free my waifu

Russian plague doctor simulator, basically.
You play as a surgeon returning home to your hometown in the steppe after a receiving a desperate letter from your father.
However, as you arrive you're just in time to discover that 1. your dad has been murdered, 2. everyone thinks you did it (meaning the real killer's on the loose) and 3. a devastating and seemingly unstoppable plague is just about to ravage the town, and you're basically the only one who can stop it.
The game plays like a survival game but with a gripping narrative, unique setting, and lots of strange, surrealist aspects.

A select few Obdidian games

I hope they make bachelor even more useless than he was in P1 as far as his ability to actually influence the world, other characters, or anything medicine-related outside of being able to perform rudimentary diagnoses and giving patients already made drugs. No vaccines, tinctures, etc.
I think one of the strongest aspects of the bachelor campaign from a narrative point of view in P1 is how hopeless everything seems, it's incredibly kafkaesque. People come to you for advice and then turn around and do the exact opposite, your deeds and actions are restricted at every turn by endless tradition based bureaucracy, and you quickly grow disillusioned as the bachelor, once incredibly confident in modern science and medicine realizes for whatever reason he just can't go up against literal voodoo magic and herbal shamanism.
It works great as both a tutorial / introduction to the incredibly bleak world of pathologic and only serves to make the fact that you CAN make a difference and fight the plague in haruspex and changeling routes instead of having to rely on others constantly to get shit done even more powerful emotionally. For that reason I think having haruspex as the first P2 campaign was a bit of a mistake, especially for all the new players coming into pathologic with its release.
Bachelor's playthroughs (imo) should feel the most hopeless, oppressive, and confusing of the 3 emotionally, while not being quite as hard gameplay wise. Haruspex and Changeling should be bleak with the possibility for hope once you realize how shit actually works in the town and what you can do to fight the plague. Bachelor's campaign is the heavy, grim emotional setup, and Haruspex is the cathartic punchline. Not sure how to put it into words, so this may come off a bit disjointed

Ideally you want to work things so that you're never short on any one color by cheesing the shit out of your gardens. You want to be maximizing garden output by never actually using the big ones until you've got enough color to max out multiple trees, ideally at least one of every color. Play it safe and dump your load right before a cycle rolls over, that was you can guarantee no brothers come along to steal your shit.

Always keep around 100~ gold on you for maximum sister conversion, and a good chunk of violet for ez tree filling. Sometimes you'll get screwed out of a certain color but about 10 or so cycles in, color starts showing up like mad and it's extremely rare to not have any particular one show up. Just invest early, cultivate it, and max out your dividends. Since trees give half the yield every cycle, ditch the entire garden after your second harvest and move on to a new one. By the time that one also fades out, you'll either have enough to do what you need to do, enough to unlock a new chamber, or simply head back to the first one and it should be open for more reseeding by then.

Veins give stupid amount of color too, don't ignore them just cause they're complicated.

Some gardens are flat out better than others, downside is they require much more color to hit the max, and if you don't hit the max you get considerably less bang for your buck. These are generally mid-end game gardens in the upper areas. But you can also use up like a third of the garden at a time as one tree will get you all you can hold of any one color.

Yeah silver is usually a bitch in the early years, if you want to give lazy bathtub sister her goo you're better off farming the large amounts of emerald until you get a hold of some silver.

IPL threads generally tend to be exceptionally civil and level headed (that one russian freak with a vendenta against Dybowsky not withstanding). I suppose most people who enjoy this game are a little more adult than your average 4chaner, and they tend to be very passionate, because IPL games in general are something you either don't get, or that you love with a passion.
Plus their very niche status, remarkable consistency of the studio, and constant fear of the future the studio makes most IPL fans worried about scaring people away from their titles, and eager to get others onboard, which means less elitistic bullshit, less drama-mongering and generally kinder tone of discussion.

Finally, IPL games have an amazing property of generally being inspiring. You can see it on the unusually high quality of fan-art they attract, and general desire of people to learn more, to seek similar titles, to read and study on subjects that relate to them. So you often get some solid discussions on things like literature as part of these threads.

Start with The Void, it's more comprehensible and less soul-grindingly unforgiving. Note that I said "more" and "less", both adjectives still apply.

Tension is extremely hard to even get your hands on to begin with. And I'd say start with The Void. Gameplay-wise it is much better than Turgor, as it has much more comprehensive introduction and generally more focused and directed progression. I also actually prefer it story-wise, as it actually makes it's core mesage and themes more clear.

Turgor in comparison is harder, but for mostly the wrong reasons - the game just really fails to give you enough directions and sense of clear progression. Story-wise, it has more content - a lot more - but most of it is INTENTIONALLY contradictory or misleading, effectively burrying the core themes in a thick layer of obfuscation which I personally don't think adds anything of real value to the experience.
However, some people ultimately liked Turgor's story more, as they enjoyed the sheer amounts of strange world-building and extremely open-to-interpretation nature of it.

The revolver isn't worth it, save it for food and meds. You'll get a weapon soon and your fists will usually do the job anyway.

There was one time in the entire game I felt the revolver was useful, and that was on about day 7-8. Otherwise it's just useful for convenience instead of running into a house to avoid a 2 on 1.
