Ion Fury requires more IQ for secrets rather than just jumping every wall until it opens. Git gud.

When you've spent 15 minutes finding three extra secrets that actually have some kind of a tell and you've got ~55% of all secrets you can safely move on to the next level because the rest of the secrets are most definitely "press activate on every single wall".
I'm sure he didn't mean he spent that long because of the difficulty setting. I played the preview episode first on the second hardest difficulty and then moved on to the main campaign thinking that I chose the same difficulty but accidentally chose UV. I didn't notice until several levels in. The game isn't hard. Finding more than half the secrets is. It has instant reload quicksaves for fuck's sake.

You know those radar things you get? When you've cleared a level and your pockets are full of those radars, find and pick up every item you see. If your ammo is full, shoot once and pick up the ammo. Then when you use the radar and see blips you know there's stuff hidden nearby.
And by the way I can confirm that this game has those bullshit fake wall secrets as well. As in "here's a texture but you can walk through." I spent a good few minutes trying to find a way around to a specific secret, trying to blow up every wall around it only to realize upon pressing the wrong movement key that I could just walk through a piece of wall and that was the way to solve the secret.

The textures are different or there's something pointing towards them, like that level where you have to activate a generator, run to a fan on the floor, and ride up and go head first into a wall to see a secret room very similar to the one from Hollywood Homicide.

This was the weirdest secret I found. I don't know if actually swerving around a 90° turn mid jump using the air control was the intended solution but I did it.

I don't agree, the gunplay feels pretty good all the way through. They went a bit overboard with the setpieces, and I still think the game looks a bit shit, but it's overall a good shooter with tight controls and decent level design. I also agree that ion fury is better, just because of the sheer spectacle of the build engine it is, but it has a ton of issues, especially with the enemy AI walking into walls and causing unneeded ambushes.

The developer was basically the opposite of evil for saying that people who want to change the gender of their child shouldn't be allowed to be parents. That shouldn't even be a controversial opinion. If anything he should be rewarded for saying that, not subjected to sensitivity brainwashing.

The problem with Dusk's gameplay is that practically the entire cast of enemies have the health pool of an ant making them all die rather quickly. On top of that, all the weapons at your disposal fire very, very quickly and deal insane amounts of DPS that are not suited for the already insanely low TTK. I think to most people, this makes the gunplay feel "responsive" or "satisfying" because enemies die quickly and spectacularly in line with just how quickly you can move by abusing the stupid bhop system. There's no skill involved. It never matters what weapon you use. All you have to do is mash the jump button to reach max speed. It allows for very stylish maneuvers, but that's all it is. It's style over substance.

The levels in Dusk look like someone tried to make things look like places using minimal 3d graphics and a vague idea of how advanced 3d was in the mid 90's. The levels in Amid Evil look like someone used basic box modeling to create random shapes and then slapped solid texture maps over everything with zero intention to make anything look like anything, then further accentuated the lack of detail by giving normal and specular maps on those solid textures.
