If you really wanted to discuss gameplay, you wouldn't have started a thread with a picture of Tifa then mentioning her tits.

However, let's discuss the game. Unless SE have mostly finished developing and are keeping quiet about post-Midgar gameplay up to the final battle, I don't see how the complete game will be ready before 2030, possibly 2035. If SE claim the introductory Midgar episode can take 50-60 hours to finish, then the full game will take close to 1,000 hours by comparison if the same effort has been put into the rest. Mind you: Midgar was the part of the original game that most people rushed through in order to get to the main game and explore at their leisure. I'm sure many people will still rush through it in the remake in the hopes of maybe getting to explore the world even a little just to be let down by "To be continued..." or "Episode 2 coming holiday 2022." I considered getting a premium version of the game, but I'm very hesitant to to do so because of the very possible disappointment that follows an overly-hyped game. I don't need to remind you of the countless times developers have fucked over players when they promise something then don't deliver.

tl;dr: I'm very interested in the game, but I'll wait for word-of-mouth after release to convince me to buy.

By making part 2 and part 3 focus on the narrative of FF7, which is Sephiroth pursue, and Meteor/Huge materia hunting.
If you think every part is gonna cover the same as part 1 (kalm to chocobo ranch) or something like that, you are delusional. Midgar is expandable because the narrative in midgar is avalanche vs Shinra. No sephiroth, no ancients, no nothing.

You're a giant retard if you think the rest of the original game is getting the same treatment as Midgar. It is getting this treatment precisely because it is MIDGAR and it has that untapped potential, the rest of the story doesn't. You can't turn Cloud's hour long flashback into 10 hours of content no matter how hard you try.

It is a bit odd that Tifa is the one they changed the most so far, knowing full well how hard people were watching for this kind of thing. I personally think she mostly looks fine, I just think the stockings change her silhouette a lot since her long. Bare legs stood out a lot in her original design. The sports bra and spats make sense to me for a fighter so I'm not mad.

As for the gameplay, there's not much to talk about because it looks good. It managed to appeal to both action RPG fags and classicfags. They did a great job.

It's basically ATB. The game, if you want it to, completely stops when your ATB bar is full and you can perform a command via a menu, just like the original game. The only change is that while the ATB charges, instead of standing still you can move around and perform basic attacks. Alternatively, you can assign special functions to buttons and just attack mid-action.

It's a really clever way of updating the gameplay I think.

Which is exactly why I have my reservations about the remake. I like what I've seen so far, but I do think SE bit off more than they can chew with this project.

Doesn't seem all that difficult to me. The groundwork exists, f they were trying to pull this off with nothing to work off of then I'd be worried.

I like the gameplay so far, but i really wanna play it myself so i can see how obnoxious is to stop the game suddenly.
If the enemies are made so you can't just auto attack your way to victory (Of course it would be that way against shinra soldiers, they are pushovers after all) and it needs from you to back off, block or dodge sometimes, then the system works because you have to think some stuff.

If the regular enemies are just pushovers and can be deal with just normal attacks, then the system can be obnoxious because you want to attack attack attack but suddenly you pause.

You can disable the time stop and have action buttons assigned that let you attack in real time without the action slowing down. Like I said, they have something for everyone.

I can get past the breast reduction, it's the redesign I fucking hate, took a simple design, and turned it into a monochromatic disaster trying to pull off 3 different looks at once, while every other character only got mild tweaks to their looks.

Look at how you can see her bra from certain angles but it's mostly covered, that actually makes sense compared to the remake where for some reason she wore a shirt smaller than her bra. It really does just look like they essentially just made the outer parts of her shirt black because they got a message from the ethics commite and altered her design without putting much thought into it.
