Of course it is. The publisher is 3D Realms, the new one located in Denmark. The owner, Fred is extremely politically correct. The creators, Voidpoint, are comprised of talented Doom and Duke modders. Like the creators of EDuke32, H-Doom, etc.

3Denmark Realms is demanding changes while Voidpoint accepts because they don't want to lose their contract with 3DR.

tl;dr: Publishers ruin everything and it was their decision to publically apologize.
