First three episodes were solid but then the whole thing fell flat on it's face. The spooky monster ended up being literally retarded and accomplished nothing besides killing a fat autistic side-character. I'm halfway through season 3. Season 1 is by far the best but season 3 has been okay, although the formula is a little tired at this point. Season 2 is an aimless slog outside of Steve.

It's how their matchmaking is currently set up. Before, killers would automatically join a lobby and any survivors would now connect. Now, Killers wait for a session to open and once enough players are matched, then everyone joins the wait screen. I think this was ti combat the SWF dodging problem, but the idiot frogs just made a more complicated solution to an easy problem.

There’s a few things going on but it’s basically about a bunch of kids, some teenagers, two of the kids mom and a local sheriff uncovering a conspiracy where the government is opening up a portal to another dimension and shit goes south.

As I've gotten older I've found it more and more difficult to experience horror media. Just seeing people get brutalized/tormented makes me deeply uncomfortable even though it's obviously fake, especially if they're younger people.

How is it dead?

Weak lore/worldbuilding, great characters, genuinely fantastic acting, and good writing for the most part, although it takes a dive after season 1. It's more childhood/innocence nostalgia than 80s-centric. Main problems are the vagueness on the lore and how everything works, characters occasionally acting stupid or stubborn to allow for plot to happen, and really thick plot armour on most of the main cast. I'd say that the first season is absolutely worth watching, the others depend on how much you like the characters.

I just finished Stranger Things Season 3, and at this point I'm pretty sure I just don't like this show. I mean, it still looks great, and it's entertaining enough to have on in the background while I'm getting some stuff done, but I just don't know... what this show is. Who is it for? Sometimes it feels like your standard nostalgia-bait for grown adults trying to relive their wasted youths through pop culture, but then in the very next scene it'll drop into the most tired tropes that were overplayed even back in the '80s movies this show tries to crib from. "Will they/Won't they" romances, over-protective father doesn't want his daughter seeing boys, young kids in love but ooh they're too scared to say the word 'love' out loud. And then just when you're watching two girls trying on clothes and talking about boys and you're thinking, OK, is this show actually for children...?, there'll be a gruesome scene of townspeople melting into puddles of flesh, or a bunch of Russians getting straight up murdered.
I think I'm just sick of it. I've had enough of these characters. I've seen enough of El dramatically grimacing with outstretched hands at CG monsters. Telekinesis is the most boring superpower to watch, and goopy slick flesh monsters that can be thrown through walls and shot full of lead without sustaining any discernible damage make for unsatisfying bad guys. I liked the subplot with Steve and Dustin and Uma Thurman's Daughter cracking the Russian code, and it's not like I hated the rest of it, but I don't know, man. I still think I would have preferred it if they'd dropped all these characters after Season 1 and made Stranger Things an anthology series with a whole new cast every time.

The Nailgun is referenced a lot in all of his home killings. There's already enough blade Killers. Giving Bateman a chainsaw when he only used it once in the film and twice in the book seems weird, especially when there are already 2 chainsaw killers. There is a Business Card add on too. It's a lot deeper than it looks. When you first start out it's basically hide and seek but as you go up in rank it becomes more strategic for both survivor and killer. Lots of routing, keeping track of where people are, remembering which pallets have been used, basically making a mental map of the area. And lots of mindgaming in the chases. It's hard to explain because there really aren't many games like it.

Well that's what you do when you're not getting chased, once you've played a few games and the killers don't scare you anymore the main draw of the game becomes the chases. Once you get good at them they're very fun, you can run the killer the entire game if you're good enough. I've always liked killer more though.

No weapon gimmick, If you stay in chase long enough the survivors die from tripping on something hilarious. It would be superhard to balance though.

So I've started watching ST because of the new chapter and I absolutely hate it. It's just a ripoff of basically every good 80's movie, how did this shlock ever get sucessful?

Because it's a rip off of every good 80's movie for people who never experienced the era (or bothered to consume its media) to pretend to be nostalgic for.
This is for people who refuse to watch movies before the 90s because, I shit you not "the graphics are bad". What on earth they could be referring to, whether it be the grain on film, the practical effects, puppeteering, I don't fucking know, I cant tell you. I thought it was better than 2 which was essentially just Season 1 again. Either way though you are right, the first season was cute and kind of nostalgic and even if you weren't alive back then it seemed to resonate with younger people just because it kind of showed them what it was like to be alive in the 80s. On top of that they could still be nostalgic for the references and callbacks to 70s/80s film and music if it was anything they experienced growing up even if it was outside their time.

Oh I agree, I HATED season 2. Season 3 was watchable but you are right that is not saying much. I mostly mentioned it because that user said he liked 2 more than 3 which I found surprising.

Amanda use to be A LOT better when she had the ability to extend end game a shit load. They removed that and gave her nothing to compensate like the brilliant developers that they are. So stupid considering that even before she was only middle of the pack. Ghostface is in my experience, the most inconsistent killer I have played.There are games where you are able to mark everyone perfectly super fast and immediately transfer to hitting and downing them. Then there are games where you get revealed the moment you look at someone every time which ends up wasting the first half of the game since you were stalking and getting no down. The biggest issue with this is that he is already really close to Myers with the big difference being that Myers can stack his meter then not fill it until in a chase right behind someone guaranteeing at least one insta down from your stalking. Ghostface's, insta down period is shorter, can't be activated in a chase easily and his stalk can be canceled. This makes him a stealthier Myers who is more likely to have his stalk time wasted but if it isn't wasted, which can eve happen against good players, then he does amazingly well.

It’s netflix garbage. Tons of people like it because they are told to, but any person who determines things for themselves will quickly realize that it is a mediocre show that relies on the same garbage gimmicks like most Netflix shows for the larger audience to say “woah it’s so progressive and therefore a really good show”

That's a balance issue related to how she can sprint out of crouch yet meanwhile Ghostface gets no special benefit to crouching other than being harder to see. You can't give that sprint a near instant activation timer people would just use it in chases. No one would use it for stealth which is what they want it to be for and if it were for chases it would kind of be a boring and borderline unfair ability that lets you just sprint fast enough to catch any survivor you are chasing even in a loop. I don't advocate that as a buff for her it's not very smart and I dislike homogenizing the killers. I do think that two changes could be made to make the crouch more viable. Increase it's move speed and decrease the wiff from a missed dash. Both of these would make it more viable to roam with it (which currently it is not because it reduces your FOV and makes you way too slow when killers are barely fats enough to patrol the map as it is) which in turn would make it more useful for stealth. It would also buff it's potential as a mind game tool at loops which is its current only worthwhile function and even then only with the add ons that make it easier to use.

Except you leave out the part where not only does it take time for her to crouch, you also have to charge the lunge and it lets out a loud ass roar. I never said anything about removing the lunge charge, only the crouch one which makes no sense at all.

Still the same issue in my opinion. Like I said, the dash is already only usable at pallets as a mind game tool when using the combat straps (which helps mitigate the start up charge). That's not the element of it that needs to be buffed. It's use for stealth and roaming needs to be buffed because it is unusable for that purpose even with add-ons when that is supposed to be it's main use.
