There's not nearly enough content for anyone to suppose the game is a masterpiece, this is something you need to play the game to say for sure, unlike a game being shit, something that can be seen by distance.

Ground Zeroes was great, it was safe to assume that Phantom Pain would be just a bigger version of that, instead of an unfinished mess. There's absolutely nothing that can be used to prove that Death Stranding gameplay is good. Until now, it looks like a convoluted mess of a movie, with boring walking simulator gameplay in between.

The fact that there are so many cryptic pieces here and there and infinite fan theories popping up everywhere is what makes it amazing. It's like the 90's where you play a game and discover something small and share it with your friends at school then someone else shares something and you put the pieces together to come up with new theories and discussions; but there's always that asshole who makes up bs to sound cool, like saying you can unlock Tifa sex scene of resurrect Aerith, and the result is it's difficult to discern fact from fiction. I care not about your whole journey back to childhood, it may be hard for you to accept this, but what you are experiencing is completely personal, just like your whole childhood experiences. user, for most people this is just another game, one that annoyingly refuses to tell you if it is worth it or not.
I need to see what the primary game play loop is, how frequent combat is, how many ways you can approach missions, combat, enemies, and what tools and weapons you have. MGSV was a masterpiece apart from the narrative, and this looks lackluster compared to that. The most we've seen in your glorified mail man taking a piss, falling off a cliff, and then soothing a crying baby. Unique, yes, but it doesn't look fun to play so far. By this time in MGS5's hype period we had already seen A Hero's Way done a million times and had gotten plenty of details about Mother Base, companions, and other stuff. Kojima has been tight lipped as fuck about Death Stranding.

It's fascinating how Kojima managed to trigger a variety of retards. You have the "bideo gaems r srs bizness" crowd, and somehow also people who genuinely hate him because he's "pretentious" (there was *nothing* pretentious about that gameplay trailer lmao, it was tongue-in-cheek and silly as fuck). Then you have the usual SJW/"progressives" because they just hate it when a female character displays feminine traits (I guess women dying from a fatality in MK, or how they act in Wolfenstein Youngblood is so much better).
All I want is a more comfy MGSV with a prettier and more detailed world. The apparent focus on environment traversal, small movement details, equipment weight, etc. gives me hope for a more survival and slow-paced approach to open world while giving the player different options (eg: there was an interview where they talked about how you could fight or run away from the monster the Golden Mask guy summons).
I'm also holding out hope for PC release in the future because I'm in the process of abandoning consoles.

Solid Single player experiences will soon become a predominantly console thing again because only big corps like Sony have the money to put behind massive gambles like death stranding, and a game can optimise performance best by being developed specifically on the basis of a console's cell like naughty dog and guerrilla do for their games
