I feel like the fact that this is probably the single most iconic and beloved scene from the entire game speaks volumes about both the voice acting quality and how incredibly bad the writing was.

Spider first gives hints to being Redips directly after beating Jango, so yeah, it had to be him. He also suddenly stops caring about doing jobs when on your first encounters he's all about money and honor.

You know what's really wonky is how Megaman 3 stated that they'd ALREADY colonized space and the robots you were fighting were out on other planets or space colonies.

The one thing you have to remember about Command Mission is that the writers thought about absolutely nothing outside of what's presented on screen.

Don't worry about how Massimo got the armor, or how the fuck X ended up in Giga City after blowing up the roof of that tower miles away, or how Tiana Camp is supposed to work, or how Gaudile could possibly live where he does or how he even captured Rafflesia. Don't think about Scarface's past or how the hell any of this plot happend when Epsilon and friends were only manufactured like a year ago tops. Don't think about how Chief R is somehow a politician but also not at the same time. Don't think about where Nana comes from or what she normally does.

The background info NPCs give you mention how Spider already had a reputation as a bounty hunter for some time, but none of them mention him by name. There's a decent chance Spider existed and his name just wasn't Spider until Redips co-opted his identity.

The only problem with that assumption is that Copy reploids need the existing DNA of the person they're coping. Even the newer models as shown in X8 still need the DNA even if it's installed into them this time.

Zero's relationships are always doomed, but not necessarily due to the girl dying. Remember, Ciel outlived Zero, not the other way around.

They're corruptions of the original's purpose. Copy X is judgment because X was designed to have flawless character and wisdom in arbitrating between man and machine. Omega may be the messiah because Zero was created to fulfill and redeem all of Wily's efforts; his final Hail Mary.

First one was pre-Classic in ancient history. The next one was the Eurasia incident, and then the Elf Wars. I guess the glassing of Neo Arcadia counts, considering it basically constituted civilization at that point. And then the "reset" between ZX and Legends. Plus as many "reinitalizations" as occurred while the Master System was in operation. There's also nobody left in Elysium by the time you get there in Legends 2. There's one hanging in the balance, too, in whether or not Trigger fulfills The Master's request and "deletes the contents of the Library". Which translates to killing everyone that Elysium was storing.

It's a meme virus in the most literal sense possible, and it turns you into an insane revolutionary with no actual goal in mind besides "it'll be better when we're done tearing it all down". Mavericks are basically Antifa, except armed with spacewizardry capable of converting civilian machines into combat platforms through Zero Space.

Legends is so far in the future that reploids are no longer a thing. First, humans and reploids merged into a new species using biometal (humanoids), then evolved into carbons who live on Terra (Roll, Tron, Tiesel and the rest) and system units who mostly live on Elysium (Sera, Yuna, Juno). Trigger is a system unit, specifically a purifier or maverick hunter (in the Jap version, they call purifiers "irregular hunters" to draw a direct link to MMX). Apart from power and life span, system units and carbons aren't all that different though.

No seriously, it's the executives and marketing producers in Capcom.
Whenever they want to go with someone new as a villain, Capcom either says no (such as with X getting shafted for Copy X), or they cancel the series, such as with Lumines.

Why is almost every executive and marketing producer so lost on what makes things good? It's like this in every company, the higher ups have no idea what the fuck they're doing.

Usually it's just that they want to be safe.

Admit it, having X be the villain is a fucking DEPARTURE from the norm, and not a safe one since it runs the risk of pissing off the whole fanbase. While it could have worked fantastically, it could also have crashed and burned, so they decided to play it safe.

That was just because MMX6 happened and Inafune didn't want to ruin fans' positive views on X by turning him into a villain.

Plus, putting aside Zero 3's greatness and the overall handling of the story, the Zero series was just Inafune glorifying his baby boy to sickly levels.

One thing I kinda like about Legends is that both sides were kinda "justified." Sera just wanted to resurrect the extinct humans using Reinitialization (think instrumentality from Evangelion style shenanigans), which would have very likely wiped out all the Carbons. Mega Man and the rest, of course, don't like this idea at all and try to stop them.

To be fair, this isn't true.

The zero series had the villains change up in 3/4 of of the series games so it was a new threat each time.
First copy ex, then elpizo and then Wiel for the rest.

ZX likewise has a somewhat revolving cast of antagonists during its two games, and the Battle network series alternates between wily and his son, who have different end goals.

Zero cycled through four seperate endbosses with the only thing they had in common was how the Final Boss of 4 "created" them (Copy X from the sacrifice of the original X, Elpizo from the Dark Elf and some backstory shit about discovering the coverup involving Weil, then Omega and Weil)

And before someone says that ZX recycled the villains from Zero they make it pretty clear that Master whatshisname was doing his own thing despite Biometals being made from Ragnarok or whatever.
