if somebody wants to sell you an RTX upgrade for your 360 it is a scam indeed

I'll beat you off within an inch of your life. You knew what I mean

>RTX is a scam look!
>Posts an image with no RTX features present at all.
You do know ray-tracing isn't ambient occlusion, right user?

I don't think the xbox 360 can run RTX so yeah that sounds like a scam to me op, be careful out there!

Exactly no rtx features that's the point. RTX is scam

You have some top tier logic.
There's no reflections in that at all and the shadows are really shit. It'd look better if it had them.

Look here originsl xbox fucking scam

user, you do know the difference between baked scenes and ray-tracing, right?

Ray-tracing does it in real time. Notice how your character's shadow is on the floor but you don't cast a reflection? That because the floor is translucent with a copy of the map put below it to give the illusion of the reflection.

It's similar to how 'mirrors' work in most games. It's a copy of the map with visible from the mirror and the character's model mapped to mirror your movements.

With ray-tracing you just ping an area, say it's reflectable and it does it in real time.

OH NONONO

Wow can't see shit very progressive

Thanks for the beer, mate. Cheers!

Red pill me on ambient occlusion vs ray tracing. What's the difference?

Ray tracing is mirror like reflection, lighting shadows. Ambient occlusions is specifically when light hits something and the things around it are now coloured. Think how if you wore a red shirt and shone a flashlight at it your desk would take on a red hue. That's ambient occlusion. So in the OP pic the ambient occlusion is colouring the assault rifle with a yellow tinge since they're in a room with yellow light without just applying a new yellow-ish gun model or a yellow filter over the view of the player.

So in theory you could eventually use Ray Tracing to do ambient occlusion but we have it handled by something else for performance.

So ray tracing reflects more than just the color?

Yes, ray tracing is what's being used to replace what we used to have to do for mirror reflections. So now you can just go "This puddle reflects with ray tracing" and it now reflects in real time without having to make that 'dummy world' that old games used to get by.

MCC when AHHH

You are clueless.

>Ambient occlusions is specifically when light hits something and the things around it are now coloured. Think how if you wore a red shirt and shone a flashlight at it your desk would take on a red hue. That's ambient occlusion.

What you describe here is not ambient occlusion, it's global illumination.

>Ray tracing is mirror like reflection

It's not. Ray tracing is accurate, physically based calculation of reflections, ambient occlusion and global illumination.

Sounds like you're clueless too. Global Illumination isn't one technique, but a collection of techniques.

What you're describing is radiosity.

Welp, you got me on ambient occlusion, I've been mistaken it seems. I know a few last gen games had 'global illumination' wrapped up under and with ambient occlusion (specifically thinking about Sleeping Dogs).

Thanks for correcting me, user!

But for the second part I'm not wrong user, I literally said that Ray Tracing covers real time lighting, shadows and reflections. See .
