Insomniac has been losing me pretty much since Crack in Time. Nexus and Remake are both decent games but the writing is on the wall that their best years are behind them in regards to the stuff I liked about their games. Working more closely with Sony, I can only expect corporate meddling to make their writing and characters even more bland and "market palatable" just like the R&C movie/remake

I know but it got REALLY bad with Nexus onward. ACIT still had lots of good jokes and puns, Nexus and the Remake are almost devoid of good worldbuilding, writing, or characters.

I agree that TOD was very bland though, the villains reminded me of the Jimmy Neutron movie (although the graphics are pretty amazing even by modern standards)

Except Sony is the least hands on when it comes to meddling. Nintendo flat out dominates their studios, changing the entire game on the whims of Miyamoto. MS cancels games that are practically done if it doesn't fit their model. Sony allows devs to make whatever they want. Look at the Sony funded games from last gen in particular and how diverse they were.

They used to be. I don't know where you've been but the past several years have seen a dramatic shift in the way Sony and Nintendo deal with devs. Sony has begun censoring everything if it's Japanese, and Nintendo are NOT censoring those same Japanese games now.

Miyamoto literally has no control at Nintendo anymore either you mongoloid, he's been semi-retired for years now. He stopped having any serious involvement when they changed his official company title to "Creative Fellow" (this is not a joke), to make him into more of an "approachable old mentor" type role where he advises but doesn't lead.
