Nothing.

The game was incredible. In my top 5 games last year

Not enough pissing clearly

Lame boss fights and story takes itself way to seriously

>implying that the other gow games didn’t take themselves seriously at all

fags seethe more about this than even BotW. both are great and theres nothing tou can do about it.

Both are GOTY too.

Devs had their heads up their asses, thinking they were elevaing videogames as art-form by trying to make a game more movie-like, and taking cues from current popular game genres.
Latter is pretty fitting of God of War, to be honest. The series started as emulation of popular action games like DMC and Ninja Gaiden, but those have now fallen out of favour, with most over-the-shoulder third-person action being the standard.

>mobility is utter trash
>rehashed bosses and enemies
>boring empty world
>boring story
>only two weapons
>shitty combat system
>terrible camera
>the gods themselves are pretty boring
>atreus is loki

No online battle royal

Literally who

Valkyrie fights were bland. After you figured out 1 fight you can rush through the others. Even the valkyrie queen was just the a combination of the others. Even on give me god of war

You didn’t play GMGOW

Nothing

babysitting the kid and the game being less gory overall, kratos being less angry/ less voilent is a no no

contrarian Yea Forums at it again

I enjoyed it at the time, but they really did fucking use that ogre miniboss like 8 times. Also Kratos' moveset should been more fleshed out.

Too short and not ambitious enough. Still a great game

The combat was shit
Everything else was good

Siding with this. The boss selection was pretty piss poor but overall I enjoyed my time playing it.

My biggest issue was that the old moves from the original trilogy were there but you could only have one or two slotted at a time. Being able to pull off a bunch more moves without diving into menus would be a huge plus for a sequel.

Made me angry that I bought Switch.

Nothing. It could have been better, with more mechanics in combat, and more interesting puzzles, but nothing went wrong. Still my goty of 2018.

even ascension is superior

everything
it's not a good game it's a bad movie

I liked the combat of the original trilogy way more, and they couldn't convince me to care about the story at all. I also prefer the Greek mythology setting over the Nordic pagan fantasy. Kratos was never a really convincing character and never had to be, because the gameplay was simple and fun. His motivation was simple and easily understandable, so the original games didn't spend much time developing his character, and that was fine. Theres nothing interesting about him as a person to explore. I just want simple hack and slash games with lots of blood and gore like when I was a teenager, and I never got that in this. I guess it's an alright game but doesn't compare at all to the original. I think it would have been better if it was its own original IP, that way people like me wouldn't be comparing it to the original trilogy and spin-offs.

walking simulator

>woah bro this is the best shit ever
>redbox it fora couple days
>mostly just hold forward while they talk
>oh combat time
>you just throw your axe a bunch because everything else is a waste of time
>especially on higher difficulties
nah, not for me. you can enjoy your movie games all you want though, sonybros

Mediocre combat, walky talky crap, beat you over the head writing.
There are games that came out before that do it all better, and lots of them.

?

Almost nothing. Its the closest game to perfection.

Nu-GoW, Uncharted 4 and TLOU have some of the worst pacing in the history of AAA games.
I really enjoyed all three the first time around, but then I realised it was only because I was drawn along by admittedly fairly interesting stories. I've never successfully played any of them all the way through a second time after multiple attempts because they're so fucking boring.
Uncharted 4 is the worst offender. It doesn't really get going until Africa, which is 4 or 5 hours into a fucking 9 or 10 hour game that has 2 fucking hours of cinematics and another hour of scripted events.
Also the tedious walking as two or more characters spout exposition at each other. Why? For what reason? It's not good gamemaking, good storytelling nor good filmmaking. So why in gods name do these ""cinematic experiences"" do it? It's objectively shit from every possible angle they could be going for.
Despite the dumb story and campiness, the original GoW trilogy are easily the better video games over Nu-GoW which is pretentious, boring garbage that much like other recent Sony exclusives, relies more on story and flashy visuals than actual video game substance.
As far as western Sony exclusives go this gen, Spider-man is the only one to find the right(ish) balance between cinematic and an actual video game.

nah its pretty good

selling like 10 millions

It was better than BOTW and it's not fucking fair.

Too much of the game is wasted on gay RPG shit.
