>game so bad it became non canon
Game so bad it became non canon
Or game is so bad it renders all previous installments as non canon
>mY nAmE iS dAnTe ThE dEmOn KiLlEr
>Dino Crisis 3
heh right guys?
It totally didn't kill the franchise...
Other M

Streets of Rage 4
World of Warcraft expansions.
>reboot so bad the series got debooted
Saints Row 3, 4, and Gat Out of Hell.
Granted, they'd have to reboot the Saints Row series if they ever wanted to make a new game since Earth got fucking destroyed in 4.
I know right, wouldnt it be crazy if someone thought they wanted dinosaurs in space.
DONT EVER TALK ABUT DS2 LIKE THAT.
3 is not a good game by any means, but the series was always going to be shelved like Darkstalkers or Red Earth. The games just didn't make as much money as similar games from Capcom so why would they keep making them when times got tough?
I figure capcom would give dinocrisis another chance because Jurassic Park was back in full swing.
Ys V was not made by Falcom, and it was totally shit. It was so bad that Falcom coordinated the release of a hard mode version on SFC and fans still weren't satisfied. The remake by Taito on PS2 was not well received either. Falcom stated it was going to remake the game themseves years ago, and they laid the groundwork for the remake in the opening segment of Ys VIII. Ys V is completely non-canon now, but I wouldn't be surprised if some plot elements get reused in the remake.
>movies so bad the lead leaves behind character he loves
Capcom's dino niche is filled by Monster Hunter now.
I'd really love to see a new Dino Crisis but it's unlikely considering Shinji Mikami was such guiding force for its development.
Dark Souls 2 is canon though.
Damn, that one is actually true.
>game so bad it puts the franchise in a coma
>it never manages to surpass the first game
Coping seething every day all day even in non related threads
DS2 is the best experience tho
>Weapons made of soggy cardboard
>Garbage hit boxes
>Constantly feeling like your character's wading through molasses
>Lots of "Big dude in armor" bosses
>bEsT eXpErIeNcE
In hindsight BvS wasn't that bad. The fight scenes were decent at least.
>Describing every Dark Souls
>the fight scenes were decent at least
Haha
No.
DARK Souls 2 is slower than 1 though. And feels worse too.
It was never canon to begin with. but
>reboot is so bad, series gets unrebooted
I meant the one between Batman and Superman, at that Batmobile car chase. The Doomsday shit was terrible and ti should've been Metallo
Because it takes positioning and different builds more serious than just rolling
What gives, who the fuck cares, what's wrong
Will I have FUN if I just want to play it as an adventure game?
I enjoyed Dark Souls 1, only thing that bothered me were the bosses that forced me to remove heavy armor in favor of abusing the invincibility frames of the roll over and over.
Damn straight.
hard to say user,
I tried it maybe 4 times over 5 years REALLY wanting to enjoy it
some coop, some solo, SotFS edition
I fucking hated every second. I love literally every other FROM game. its just shit
Wait, which was removed from canon? WOD or Leg?
>Because it takes positioning and different builds more serious than just rolling
Lmao, and how do you position your character? Because in my opinion rolling sounds like a better way to position yourself than slowly walking. And the attack animation are worse than 1 it feels so stiff and shit. And different builds are better in 1.
>game makes itself non canon
A lot of the Souls games did have those problems, but they were EASILY the worst in 2.
Kotor 2 basically became non canon because Karpyshyn was made that Avalon is a way better writer than him and actually did something interesting with the SW license.
I hope that happens with Monster Hunter World. I don't want to ever see the uggo handler ever again.
Think a little harder user
That was pretty smart of them, they won't even need to mention it in any other game.
>Coop multiple times through 1 and 3 with my brother
>Have a fun time
>"Hey, want to play through 2 since we haven't done that one yet?"
>""Sure, I'm down.""
>Both of us are sick of playing by the time we reach No Man's Wharf and haven't touched it since
>DUDE WHAT IF LE LIGHT SIDE WASN'T GOOD AND LE DARK SIDE WASN'T EVIL LMAO
begging ya to gain standards
There are people who sit there and play DaS2, with its floaty combat, absurdly horrendous graphics, absolute SHIT hitboxes and they think to themselves "yeah, this is good"
/our chad/
tell me he's playing on Shazzrah!
I only got into the DMC series last year, how did they ever think they could replace that silver haired suave mother fucker.
Dante is just so endearing.
you faggots will NEVER accept all souls games are good in their own right, and everyone has their favorites and that's FINE, everything has to be compared and debated ad nauseam until the end of time, bringing up the same exact screenshots and arguments every time
this entire board must be purged
Yeah fuck Nero.
Metal Gear 1 on the MSX
You know normally I'd 100% agree with you, Yea Forums's contrarian argumentative-ism is a gross swollen cancer
but ds2 sucks giant cocks and is just a bad game, really
I WANT it to be good, I really fucking tried to even just finish it
>game so bad yet is still canon
>game was so bad it mercifully makes itself non-canon
Dark Souls 3 comes to mind.
>shitty references galore to bait in fags
>DAE REMEMBER DARK SOULS
>WHAT IF ORNSTEIN
>WHAT IF ANDRE
>WHAT IF FIREKEEPER
>WHAT IF ANOR LONDO
Just fuck off. 3 never happened in my book. What a cheap and shitty way to try to wrap things up
probably WoD. it was basically a filler arc for the game since everything took place in an alternative universe, but it's still technically canon since the guldan you kill in legion was the AU guldan from WoD.
but there have been so many retcons across the expansions that there is hardly a coherent sense of lore anymore. it doesn't matter what the canon is because blizz will come up with some bullshit explanation for the next expansion regardless. blizzard literally released a book called chronicle that basically established the official lore of warcraft to set the record straight before legion released, and some of its content was already retconned before the end of legion. they give zero fucks anymore.
it has its positives even though its the most unpolished and unfinished souls. but if you can't get past its flaws then yeah its a shit experience.
but i feel like enjoyment varies a lot between Souls games, i myself played a lot of 2 and never managed to finish 1 because how much i hated anor londo and everything after. i always knew 2 was an even more unfinished game but i legit found it less frustrating
People bitched about Serious Sam's style so much that Croteam declared it non canon and announced that there will be a canonized remake in the far future.
I wish this would happen to BfA. The faction war is so fucking bad. Like holy shit how did everything go to shit so fast
>Game is so bad that the quality of titles is now inversely related to how canon they are
*Serious Sam 2
Maybe, i had a fun romp with it and there are multiple ways you can play it despite the memes about the combat.
It also has a bunch of secrets for people who pay attention like
>Lighting every single torch in an area summons an enemy with loot.
>Spiders hate fire.
>Kings ring prevents statues from waking up.
I-Frames are tied to a specific stat in 2 from what i can recall, cant remember which though.
It's almost always better to parry anyway.
>What?
>the hitboxes are as bad as the other titles
>it takes 3 minutes to get used to the different movement, learn how to operate two sticks at the same time
>because all those demon/beast bosses in DS1 or Demon's were so good
Not even in just Legion bro. They straight retconned shit in the first book with the 2nd Chronicles. Nu-Blizz cannot lore for shit
>Ridley shows up still using the cybernetics he got in the Prime series in Samus Returns, rendering those games truly canonical and wiping Other M from existence entirely
Based and Ridpilled
>only thing that bothered me were the bosses that forced me to remove heavy armor in favor of abusing the invincibility frames of the roll over and over.
Thats...... literally the opposite of how abusing stuff in DS1 works user.
In fact, heavy armor and the poise it brings with it is literally the most broken way to kill bosses.
Just stand there and chop away.
>game so good there's no sequel/remake/remaster
>people still play the game and it gets updates
>games showing up on best games of all time lists tier: DaS and BB
>games only talked about when comparing them to 1 and BB or when asking why theyre not as popular tier: DeS and DaS3
>games literally everyone hated for years tier: DaS2
>games forgotten once the release period was over: Sekiro and soon Elden Ring
>everything has to be compared and debated ad nauseam until the end of time, bringing up the same exact screenshots and arguments every time
We could stop if you'd just accept that 2 is a shit game.
>Game is so good that both it and it's sequel constantly get updates with each other
I still dont understand Valve
Postal 3
You ever play Demon's Souls, kiddo? The first Dark Souls is such a huge Demon's Souls jerk-off, it's not even funny.
Stacking poise is how I beat Artorias, it worked for some bosses, I mostly liked using heavy armor with slow hitting weapons and then trying to find openings in the enemy after parrying or blocking.
The times I had to take off my armor to roll were bosses like Kalameet, the Stray Demon or the Sanctuary Guardian.
Still was a better experience than Ceaseless Discharge and Bed of Chaos.
actually wanted to post that
Pretty much every Star Fox game after 64.
Doom 3
> the keyboard has a lens flare
It's a good idea at least, they just really poorly executed it. The everyone works together kumbaya shit has to go but they keep fucking bringing it back. Instead they put fagboy did nothing wrong in charge of the Alliance, made the actual bloodthirsty coalburner make peace with herself and somehow make her father both the bad guy and forgiver her, then made the other leader a retarded villain, which could have worked if the whole rest of the faction wasn't against her.
>deboot
I want this to be an actual trend so badly.
>missed the first call that he got the role of superman because he was too busy playing WoW
Pimp
>implying DmC2 was a deboot
>The weapons are fragile as shit compared to other souls games (inb4 B-but if you horde repair powder...!)
>They're easily the worst they've ever been in 2
>The fuck does "learning to operate two sticks at the same time" have to do with controls feeling shitty and unresponsive?
>They were more visually interesting at the very least
I dunno dude they've made plenty of good RE games since Mikami and Kamiya have left. Kamiya even came on to the RE2 Remake roundtable series and talked about how much he loved it. Plus Capcom said that after the success of RE2 that they are now open to doing more remakes of Capcom franchises. And since there's been a growing demand for Dino Crisis I wouldn't be surprised.
I just wanna see best girl Regina again...
Sonic '06
also happened wtih Crash and Spyro
too bad they still feel the need to shove in Blaze and Silver togheter for no good reason, even though canonically, there is nothing between the two
XCOM Apocalypse
Fallout 2
ANAKIN
YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE
If Dark Souls 2 is canon, how did Anor Londo came back if Drangleic was built on top of Lordran? I never really understand that part of the timeline.
Surprised no one seemed to mention Devil May Cry 2. But perhaps that's already a given. Hell, even Devil May Cry 5 still basically glosses over it in that history video.
